The word "homosexual" is more appropriate and accurate because it, unlike the word "gay", actually describes the behavior/attraction/relationship being discussed.

Bi's have it a bit easier than full-fledged gays. In modern scociety, homosexuality has been looked on (by many) as detestable. However a homosexual act, by one who is not predominantly gay, is more readily forgiven. It's the old adage of just because one eats spaghetti once in a while, that don't make them an italian- Plus, a flaming queen will get picked on far more by straights, than a gay male who is less flamboyant.

WOWO are they serious?!?! I grew up in a smaller town in Iowa and I RARELY had a problems being openly gay.
