I have never heard of this song before, and I have never heard of Blender Magazine, I think I'm gonna have to see this list of top 50 worst artists. I bet there are some great musicians on it.
KING TONE all the way! Screaming Trees came out of this same time period. With a few exceptions (such as The Foo Fighters) Rock hasn't been the same since.
I know this is a stretch, but, I think that, had he lived, Buddy Holly could have engineered/produced this tune (and lp). REM meets The Gin Blossoms meets The Pogues. Thank you, Santa Barbara, CA for this band!
Toad the Wet Sprocket is an Awesome band from my Home town of Santa Barbara California! They also went to my High School San Marcos High. Much better than the hateful and manufactured music of today! Rock On!!!
Jesus, I knew this band had a one or two of my favorite songs of the era, but I don't think I realized how much I liked the rest of their work. Underrated indeed.
Favorite band. But honesty, this has got to be their most overrated song. (Not a bad song, just overhyped.) I think there are at least 3 songs on this album alone which are much better than this. Try Windmills, Fly From Heaven, and Something's Always Wrong.
I saw that someone said that Blender magazine had put Toad as one of the 50 worst artists in music history. They are # 49.Are you kidding me? The list should have been made up of only rappers and yet there was only two[ Vanilla Ice and P diddy] on the list. They also included Live and said that they sound like U2.I have never heard anyone say they sound like U2 . How much crack were those that made this list up smoking?
u guys all need to stop bitching about good rock music not existing in the 00's... thats why there are videos like this. if u dont like more modern music just dont listen to it dumbasses
Agree 100%. What a bunch of pretentious turds. I don't know if they were turned off by the bands lack of artifice, but they made some genuinely good music. Blender can suck a dick.
@scorchamatic Totally agree. My brother and I hung out with Glen Phillips right before Toad played the Keswick in Glenside, Pa. last May. He came into the bar right before the show. Great dude and so was the show. Blender can suck it.....what a douche.
probably the most underrated band of all I think..even when they started as a garage band in the late 80's all the wy to the unraveling in 98. And seriously the music never died its the ones who conform to radio and popularity beebop stuff. Seriously the late ninety's music didn't die the people gave up and jumped bandwagons
American Pie was referring to the mid nineties, when the Golden Age Of Alternative Rock faded, and rock DIED, when singing "the music died." The early and mid 1990's freaking ROCKED!
It was not a prophecy, I was lamenting and simply quoting a line to point to the fall of Rock. NO, it has no died, but for sure it has lost a grip. I meant no prophetic messages.
@vocaltalent1, that's what I thought! To me, all the good rock was from the '60s to the '80s. My life in the '90s turned upside-down, but I learned that there was still good rock even in the '90s, and that got me through. As for the 2000s? Well, let me say that, with a few exceptions, good rock basically no longer exists.
yeah thats where i first heard this song, i guess i have to thank Kmart for this haha nothing like shopping to the melody of Toad The Wet Sprocket haha

@thrashdouche21 Yup. I made an error for sure. 'Drop Zone' was the movie I meant to reference, not Point Break. I stand corrected.
