I thought - Cool artist name, when I read about Elvis Costello & the Attractions and their single "Watching the Detectives" in Melody Maker in 1977. Just so happened that one guy at work was all worked up about Elvis Presley so I bought him the Costello single as a birthday present, because at least the Elvis part was right!
That is how I started to dig Elvis Costello & the Attractions!
