The only thing I can think of is that you took advantage of his handling. DK easily has the best handling in the game, IMO.

Banshee Boardwalk is a level where you need lightning. Mushroom's no good here for sure. My bro and sis just pawn me on this level. Probably the hardest level. Terrible visibility; even the music is intimidating.
