He is kind of right you are not following your own logical thread. I was curious and followed your discussion. The "reviews" topic started because you mentioned "critical acclaim". His point was that 1)Critical acclaim does not matter if it's fake; and 2)It did not even receive much critical acclaim but the contrary.
Myself am not disappointed by the album but if it tries to pass as something more than a movie soundtrack, it fails.

I prefer Anette's singing this song, I ended up not liking it anymore with Tarja with her disastrous version on End of an Era, her bloody lack of effort to control her voice and her awful accent were almost insulting for the audience ("his pistol had been FAAAAAOUND", come on). The audio of this vid may not be the best but it gives a good snapshot of it, thanks for the upload.
@Jillian did you know Tarja was ill during that concert? why don't you listen to ever dream by anette when she sang in Australia? Anette was also ill in that concert and she did a hideous performance. I congratulate Tarja because even if she is ill she can give decent performances, unlike Nettie.

Don't talk nonsenses. When singing using classical techniques, the first full vocal (the "A" in that case) receives the most power.
Tarja's performance in End of Era was (even if she was indeed sick) one of the best in music and the first memory of most people regarding NW glory is that show.

@TheRicochet4 I didn't say this version was "great". I'm not a big fan of this cover anyway, and I find it an odd way to finish the concert. All the "idiots" are of course sending messages to NW's management who will sure give a damn and amend the tour and all in consequence. Generally speaking, Nightwish goes on, no matter what people think, there are people to love them, people to give up on them, and you know what? it's fine if you belong to the latter group. Totally fine.

His point was that 1)Critical acclaim does not matter if it's fake; and 2)It did not even receive much critical acclaim but the contrary.
Myself am not disappointed by the album but if it tries to pass as something more than a movie soundtrack, it fails.

I prefer Anette's singing this song, I ended up not liking it anymore with Tarja with her disastrous version on End of an Era, her bloody lack of effort to control her voice and her awful accent were almost insulting for the audience ("his pistol had been FAAAAAOUND", come on). @TheAmaranthObsession Do we make a contest of "who sings better when they're sick"? Ideally singers should keep the bed when they're sick, they can't most of the time so you just have to deal with their performance. Doesn't mean you can't critique it.
And why do you keep bringing a singer who's out of NW for 7 years now? She saved your life or something? Get over it. No one's forcing you to listen to post-Tarja Nightwish. Plenty of other bands out there for everyone.

Don't talk nonsenses. When singing using classical techniques, the first full vocal (the "A" in that case) receives the most power.
Tarja's performance in End of Era was (even if she was indeed sick) one of the best in music and the first memory of most people regarding NW glory is that show.
So - defend Anette if you wish, but don't do it by talking lies about Tarja.

I loved the show overall but didn't like this song and some little other stuff Tarja did at this show (like her bits on The Siren). Sobre la banda, el arreglo de gaita está genial, me gustó que suplieran el efecto del teclado con la gaita de Troy, Emppu excelente y con actitud estupenda, lo mismo Jukka, Tuomas tocó estupendo, y Marco estuvo excelente en los coros y también en el bajo, todos lo hicieron estupendo y entregaron el alma en el escenario, todos brillaron estupendamente, salieron a matar y entregarse.
