Jeff Mangum played a show in New Zealand in 2001, but other than that 1 show, you're right, 1998 was the last time NMH played, but maybe someday he'll return
like the other people mentioned. The sound seems worse than it was at the show, obviously. I don't remember it being loud other than jeff and julian. I was also right next to them so maybe I was just... entranced.
I know I was standing there praying no one would talk or make noise, but really, the vid makes the background noise sound a LOT louder than it was. It was a very respectful, awed atmosphere in the room while they were playing. It's just the recording.
This is the first Aeroplane song he's played since the New Zealand show in 2001! It's absolutely amazing... If I had been there, I don't know what I'd have done. Maybe cried or fainted or something? haha, it's Mangumania!
I get confused because Engine is the most popular non-Aeroplane song... And it's also my favorite so I pretty much assume that Jeff puts it on all his albums... haha
I was at this show and I think everyone in the crowd just held their breath when they thought the show was over then saw jeff come from upstairs. It was awesome and I'm so grateful I got to witness it.
They just did the same thing at the Columbus Show. Hopefully someone recorded it. It was amazing and RIGHT next to me. Also it was silent other than the music.
the video seems to be amplifying the crowd sounds... in the actual room you could hear jeff pretty well over the background noise. i think people in the back were talking because they couldn't see him
and i also mean, this is so exquisitely beautiful, i cried. thank you for filming this, i wouldn't have had my wits about me to film it. and what is with the people talking? they probably all should be punched in the mouths.
holy shit, I was really hoping someone would post this. Jeff seemed to be in good spirits. Thanks...seriously an incredible moment and a great ending to a superb show!!!
this is the only song that makes me feel like there's someone out there in the universe who understands.

these people (the loud ones anyway) obviously have no idea what they are fucking hearing, if they did, they would be silent.

Why the hell are all these people talking over Jeff's playing? Folks need to shut up and appreciate what they're hearing.

no worries, if it makes any difference, it was the B side to the Holland, 1945 single which was on aeroplane.

Yeah, he definitely projected over the crowd when he played. I think most of the people thought the show ended.
