I prefer the Apes in the original movies because they have more human traits which means they have evolved, unlike the Tim Burton movie where they still have unevolved Ape characteristics, to me that is unrealistic. An evolved ape wouldn't be able to swing or jump or even still have his enormous strength. Those are jungle characteristics and an ape would lose those traits if they are now evolved and domesticated.
Anybody who thinks "Beneath Planet of the Apes" is shit must be a stupid fat head. Its the most SF-iny of all the POTA movies. In fact, when it comes to special effects, this movie is superior to the 1st. As for the ending, it was heavy and solemn. Almost breath taking.
The first film was,and still is brilliant and a classic, but the sequels are shit. The ending to this film was lame. I hate it when Hollywood take a great film, and fuck it up by turning into a franchise.
@pepjrp Actually,it was a rated GP rating back in 1970 until PG came out two years later. And for the record, this would've gotten an R rating if they had the half human, half ape child in this 1970 feature film.
@oldschoolbx1970 You're right, I stand corrected. Thanks. I remember the M rating too for Mature audiences too. Ha. Seems so strange by today's standards.
Remember, this film came out during the Vietnam War....

What misinformation. Charleton Heston has less than 10 minutes of film time. Should not be mentioned as one of the star actors!
