You're all nitwits. It has nothing to do with his microphone. When he's on his show he's usually completely relaxed, so his voice is deeper. But when he's yelling on his show, his voice goes up in pitch, and sounds more like it does here. He's just raising it to a comedic level on purpose.

lol you guys are too funny... i work in radio and its way more simple, its just bass, he packs his mic with bass.

try listening to stern or other radio shows with your treble all the way up and your bass all the way down.. sounds pretty funny but probably is a much more realistic sound than what you hear
