  • He had a beautiful soul. I know he had issues with people focusing on him instead of his music, but his manner of existence is an inspiration. No one affects me like he does. It's beyond words.

  • what a pity losing such a great voice, such a sensitive artist...I want Jeff's voice again...

  • one more year till hes 47... he predicted it just after the myan calender ends 2013 ...

  • Am I the only one who is kind of reminded of John Frusciante?

  • @FionaHelenCurrie I actually think the same. I was listening to frusciante(solo work and also what he did with red hot) alot until i recently found jeff buckley. Now hes like the only thing i listen everyday, but yeah they are very similar, they are really like anti-fame and really know how to create good harmonies.Jeff is way better singer than john, but frusciante creates melodies with his guitar that buckley really doesnt have on his songs. both are pretty awesome, glad we still have john :)

  • @FionaHelenCurrie I was thinking the same thing. Their both the greatest most unique artists

  • haaa!!!!!! he say during his errrrr....

  • That is an upper class accent, used comically in UK to portray someone who is tal;king down to someone, used as a joke. He's using it to say..these people talk down to him and sensationalise, he's fed up with uk journalists, mainly London, telling hiim what he;s doing/thinking.

    Don

  • Personally having a terrible week. Then, I remember this clip, and how it is that real people communicate. Thanks again for posting, cgbb353. For replenishing my sanity and faith in myself.

  • @MJCrest How many times have I felt like this!

  • Sad guy. That's too bad.

  • hes stressed jeez i love him..

  • 00:24 He has a vibrato in his voice hahahahaha

  • i love you too jeff :D

  • @minyawakoypusa WE ALL ARE IN LOVE omgawd :O

  • He is so articulate and everything he says just comes naturally and flows out so easily for him. He was so wise for his years.

  • who was the interviewer?

  • min 5:30 *_*

  • New album when he's 47 or 48?

Your body may be gone... but your soul better put out that album in 3 or 4 years, Jeff. I love you.

  • I wish those lovely people that post those lovely vids would bother to tell the time they were made.... When was it, people, any ideas?

  • I think Cillian Murphy should play him in a movie

  • @xxgg55 nup, James Franco

  • @NoWorries97 Cillian is actually a musician and he looks like him as well. His disposition suits him better too I feel

  • @xxgg55 no one should play him in any movie.

  • @chakrameditation5 Oh okay, I'll send out the memo

  • @xxgg55

He is a good actor but I would pass on him for James Franco simply because he is a better actor and has a greater likeness to Jeff. Also there is nothing going on with the movie, Its in "Production Hell" and chances are we wont see one for a very long time.

  • @theaxylum Well it doesn't matter because Reeve Carney is playing Jeff in a movie.

  • Great interview.

  • ANGELIC. if i heard someone say "I love You" the second way he said it..... i think i would faint dead.

  • Lovely Interview, Such a lovely charming man.. I miss him to this day.. <3

  • Pause, hit play again, and press seven. Trust me.

  • @Carzy4232 I tried your suggestion out of curiosity.......That is a beautiful moment!!! No one can touch his sincerity as a musician. His music will always touch me and inspire me.

  • @Carzy4232 My pants just dropped, hahaha.

  • @Carzy4232 aaaand press seven...seven...seven...seven....seven...seven... *sigh*

  • I pictured Ted from Bill and Ted whilst watching him...

  • its a shame that another young and talented man died by the name of heath ledger....he couldve played jeff buckley in a biopic and absolutely destroyed it..but the most talented people always die young

  • im pretty messed up right now but as someone who plays guitar likes to sing. im not that good but he just makes me feel like its ok to go out there and just belt out wutever ur feeling. im addicted to his cover of mama you've been on my mind...that songs puzzles me....im listening to this interview as im typing theres a lot of talk about drugs.if you have a satisfied mind its ok to do drugs once and a while just dont lean on drugs to make you happy just dabble everyone....wut a trip

  • he is DEFINITELY an addiction, im in love.

  • lol she's losing it after 5:24, poor gal ...)

  • He has such an amazing voice.

  • Holy crap, the noise he makes at 0:28 <3

  • @VegaVelecka I agree that they shouldn't make a movie. My favorite artist is Nick Drake and I would be extremely disappointed if Hollywood tried to profit off his story.

  • Comment removed

  • miss him.

  • I love the way he talks to the interviewer; a little reserved, tho a little goofy and still very humble. So real...

  • when he speaks his voice is still singing

  • Actually Reeve Carney from Spider-Man is gonna play him. They have the rights to all of his archives and the blessing of his mother to make the movie. Jeff would probably turn in his grave if that Twilight no-talent Robert Pattinson played him. But I do agree James Franco would be the most ideal person to play him...

  • "I... love... you", Jeff. :-)

Great voice (musician) + great person = Great loss.

  • She sooo wanted to fuck him...

  • @glowww92 ah, umlike you, I suppose?

  • she doesn't even get what he is saying.

  • what did he say at 0:55 ?

  • @Jutschi1 Massively beautiful album. Someone gave us a rush of a commercial that was supposed to go out on the TV and I hope it doesn't make it. Grace! Its unanimous. (thats what he says a little before and after that section)

  • @KCJacksonMuz Thank you! :)

  • @Jutschi1 massively beautiful album.

  • gods i love this man! <3

  • Always-3

  • I kind of gasped when she disparaged musicians in their 50s as "dinosaurs of rock". Jeff would never put anyone down because of age; he is too polite and kind and values people more than that. I think he had to look up and away from her to control his reaction to that ignorant question.

  • There are two movies in the works, correct?

  • can james franco sing well enough to play jeff?

  • @eoinluvsgrunge Reeve Carney is playing Jeff.

  • @eoinluvsgrunge agree with you there, buddy. The resemblance is uncanny

  • This is your brain on drugs, kids.

  • @MuskPumpkin

HE WAS A GENIUS!.....you are probably a talentless MENTAL MIDGET....go do a DARE seminar...you have no business commenting and disgracing Jeff's name.

  • He could have ripped her to shreds. But no.

    Everyone falls "in love".

  • Haha, Jeff is such an interesting guy.

  • To all you people that say Robert Pattinson, shouldn't play him well... look... Rob sings and plays guitar so.... what do you have to say about that? And I can accept that Rob musically is nowhere near Jeff but if you don't like Rob than just don't bring it up. You came to look at an interview of Jeff Buckley, not Robert Pattinson.

  • Jeff was something else. His mind is so fascinating, it's almost as great an experiance watching an interview with him, as it is listening to his music.

There is no gimmicks about him. Just a real man, with real insecurities.

  • I like that everything he considers wrong is represented with a british accent. xD

  • @HelenaNV Jeff has thousands of fans in the UK, who speak with a british accent obviously. The people he's referring to are music journalists, a few of them know very little about music and worse of all, have destroyed many young artists careers with their unjustified criticism and copycat style of journalism. An accent doesn't make a person better or worse. As the poet said "It's not where you're born...it's the things that you do".

  • @23sugarcane Ya don't say...

  • Reeve Carney is beautiful inside and out. I am so happy for him. He'll do an amazing job with this... I just know it. And although Reeve is awkward and strange (like Jeff), Reeve is way more innocent, which I absolutely adore about him. He's so sweet <3. I'd say all he will need to do for this role is get more in touch with the "dark side of human nature" (as lame and melodramatic as that sounds). I don't know, maybe that'll help him to convey Jeff's mysterious persona

  • Comment removed

  • @eoinluvsgrunge i dont know if james franco sings, but have you listened to robert pattinson's singing? he's the closest thing to jeff.

  • I don't think Jeff would want a movie to be made about him, especially not with a fucking vampire playing Him.

  • @Punk88Rock Actually we do care. I'm sure his true fans don't want some sparkling vampire fag to depict one of the greatest artist that ever lived. He should be played by an amazing actor with talent.

  • @eoinluvsgrunge QUOTE: 'In spite of tantalizing speculation in the press and on the Internet, no roles have been cast, and no one has yet been approached to portray Jeff' I hope it'll be Franco though. First time I saw one of his movies I thought he looked alot like Jeff...

  • @ShoulderShrugger

    Reeve Carney confirmed.

  • @AidanMusik actually not too bad a choice. didn't know they considered him, too

  • what i would do to be in her shoes. oh what i would give.

  • I looove his voice T_T and everything about him.

  • He's so seductive.

  • PLEASE NEVER MAKE A FUCKING JB MOVIE!!!!!

  • @nickcharles33 I think james franco would do a fine job :)

  • ...he totally flirts with the interviewer... lucky

  • I hate twilight! However, Robert is a pretty good actor in my opinion judging from other movies he has been in. I think he could surprise us people.

  • @melody15100 Agreed, he could do a good job if you just don't think about him being a faggot in a couple of movies

  • i think if we're going on looks i think rafael nadal would be the best.

  • Was I the only one blushing through this entire interview???lol.

  • will smith should play him

  • @sammyrocksu You're amazing.

  • @sk8ergrlsky i ment no disrespect,Jeff Buckley was a wonderfull singer and song writer. corpus christi carol has to be in my top 10 songs of all time..peace

  • @eoinluvsgrunge Cillian Murphy all the way. He's the spitting image of him and he has a similar way of carrying himself

  • If Penn lets his hair grow back out, yeah I can see it; only if he can sing. I have NO idea if he can. But here's to Penn; hope he does a great job.

  • @eoinluvsgrunge Rumor has it that Penn Padgely beat him for it.

  • Reeve Carney-Look him up, I know him and he is a fan of Jeff's and would be perfect for the role!

  • It is so sad to hear him say that he'll probably give his best when he's 47 years old. I'm almost 45 and I was born in 1966 also. I wish he had more time to give us what he thought was his best, but I can't hardly imagine what that would be. The recordings he left with us are so beautiful already. I appreciate the gift he left for us. Thanks Jeff Buckley.

  • Here's a new concept.....how about nobody playing Jeff Buckley..how about just letting Jeff be himself and be remembered and not turned into a fucking movie for some fucking actor to emulate. Please don't touch this man.

  • he looks a bit like jim morrison is his younger days. jeff buckley was amazing. RIP

  • @LegendaryWeiner Thank You! Jeff Buckley reminds me so much of the young Jim Morrisson -- beautiful, brilliant and original.

  • @eoinluvsgrunge Wait a second: Robert Pattinson is playing him in what?! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! WHAT HAS THIS WORLD BECOME?!

  • @graceheartsart ..Franco beats Robert on look alike features by far...Robert has the hair -slight cheekbone similarity...but ....No way...Has to be Franco..the Fans must speak!!:)

  • I've never seen someone so... I don't know... profound like him, don't know how to describe him...

  • @eoinluvsgrunge agreed, but i think cillian murphy would fit too (if not better), but yeah obviously hiring pattinson for that is an insult to jeff and his work AND a huge joke for his friends and fans.

  • if Buckley had lived long enough to get bored with playing music, he could have made voices for cartoons easily :P

  • I don't agree that Pattinson should be discarded of playing Jeff just because of his previous work. He's not the characters he's played. If he is good enough to play Jeff he should get it, if not, no IMO

  • what a beautiful and simple person! without necessarily wanting to attract, he attracts me. such a shame hes gone.

  • @eoinluvsgrunge Franco can't act.

  • I'm sick of people saying Jeff Buckley looks like James Franco. Jeff is before Franco, so James Franco looks like Jeff Buckley. Except less talented.

  • Comment removed

  • He is an addiction.

  • im melting at 5:29

  • I miss jeff :'(

  • even she fell in love with him. you can tell by the way she smiles.

  • All the greatest artists leave us early

  • I'm so in love with Jeff Buckley.

  • His views against media and manipulation were probably why he suspiciously "Drowned".

  • @wassuppeeps He did not kill himself you idiot. It was an accident.

  • @moneyquickeasy I know he didn't kill Himself. You're the idiot, for thinking I implied he killed himself.

  • @wassuppeeps Then what are you implying?

  • 0;28 - that man can even say errr in tune.

he's amazing. amazing.amzaing. He is the TRUE JB . Xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • So sad when he was talking about who wanted to emulate in old age.

  • Oh my God! What generous and open and honest and kind person he is. He is sweet and funny and truthful and humble. What a great interview! Love Jeff! And love his music!

  • 5:30

  • @eoinluvsgrunge whats th emovie called?

  • @OdeToNecrophilia From what I've heard "Amazing Grace". I'm aware that there's a documentary called Amazing Grace about Jeff, but I read in Q music Magazine about the movie being written and possible actors to play Jeff. Unfortunatly Robert Pattinson is in the line to play him

  • @eoinluvsgrunge oooh, interesting!!

  • @eoinluvsgrunge I heard about that too, I really hope that he does not get the part. Not because of twilight, because he just isn't that good an actor. I don't like the was he presents his roles. Franco is much more dynamic and fitting. It would also be really nice to see an unknown actor take the role. They always seem to do well.

  • @retrokd2 Agreed with you 100% my friend

  • I can't believe he's dead. I wish people actually listened to what he was saying and not just pretend to like him because it's the "cool" thing to do. Stupid drama-queens.

  • putain de mec! j'adore! j'adore! j'adore! il manque dans le paysage musical!

  • is Robert Pattinson playing Jeff Buckley???? oh my god nooo, say it's not true!!!

  • I love that soft lilt to his voice. And how he 'sings' even when he's talking. He was so beautiful.

  • seriously, Jeff Buckley did only one album, and he died before making any other album... THAT ALBUM IS PERFECT, IMAGINE WHAT HE COULD HAVE DONE AFTER!

Thumbs up for one of the best album of all time, and best singer! (I don't need any thumbs up)

  • I hope people just listen to his music and not have to rely on a hollywood movie to learn about the his feelings towards life and humanity.

  • James Franco would have been perfect playing him f5 year or more ago. He looks a older now.

But, then again, they could use a shit-load of makeup to fix that. I definitely don't want to see the Vampire guy playing him

  • @EddieRanger1989

Penn Badgley is going to play Jeff.

  • James Franco looks like a twin brother, amazing.

  • I'm just gonna hate it when people only know him when the film comes out and they act like they've loved him forever and play his music all the time like they did with Johnny Cash when walk the line came out.

  • @whysummerwhy

    Yeah, called mystery white boy.

Apparently that **** Robert Pattinson may play him...

    WHYYYYYYYYYYYYY???!!!

I will be so so pissed if he does....

    What an insult to Jeff!!

  • anyone who has ever cried over jeff buckleys death that learned about him AFTER he died... add me.

  • eddie vedder

  • I thought James Franco too...

I always thought they looked alike.

Fuck if Robert Pattinson plays him i probably won't even watch it.

What's on earth has that talentless fugly down-syndrome idiot have in common with the beautiful Jeff Buckley? Oh, i know, NOTHING!

  • @meooow91 their making a movie about him? do you know what its called?

  • major manic episode

  • @Artsie1 When he says 'I don't have your voice' I think she actually melts into the stool.

  • I died when he said the 2nd 'I love you'

  • 3rd "I love you" reminds me of 'Wayne's World'. I think that's the way Wayne Cambell would of said it.

  • -3 -3 -3 Love you Jeff.

  • to be dead?!?!?

    R.I.P. -3 -3 -3....

Damn I am acting like the ridiculous 14 year old girl I am.

And, oh yeah. FUCK ALL MAINSTREAM CRAP OF TODAY!!! It's depressing!!!

  • This man is AMAZING! He is talented, can sing, has eyes that see into your soul, he is funny, good at impressions, amazingly poetic, smart, wise... and the way he says 'I love you' or just 'love' is just beautiful. I have never heard anyone say it like that. It's kinda like that part in a song that you love so much and you always tell everyone to be quiet or turn the music up. Please don't tell me he is my new obsession. Damn. Heath Ledger, Kurt Cobain and now Jeff Buckley. Why do they all have

  • Robert Pattinsson to play Jeff Buckley in the biopic?!!!! REALLY?! i hope they're not serious! that suck!! ><

  • smart man...

  • This voice makes my heart full..It is under my skin, I can't help it..It's to late to let it go. I'm simply obsessed in a way I never was. I can't do anything truly without him... any part of him: talking, singing, playing, writing... I just need a big dose of Jeff.

  • "You can't leave it up to the media or MTV to feed you real life - that's sombody's corporate fiction." Well said Jeff.

  • i love buckleys imitations of people. hes a funny guy

  • I think James Franco would be good, but I also see Freddie Prinze, Jr.....though I question whether he has the acting chops to pull it off.

  • Saddest part : Him saying "When I'm 47/48". He never was, and never will be ...

  • beautiful angel

  • @Artsie1

    hahahaha

    startin with me

    god i love his voice

there's something strangely beautiful about him

    what a loss

god he was just more than amazing

  • @Artsie1 I dont know... To me I think his voice is more soulful than sexual, though it IS sensual.

I've fallen in love with him, but my ovaries are intact.

Michael Buble is the one youre thinking of.

  • @lidlehotti3

yeh james franco looks just like him

    it's crazy

they should make a movie about jeff and james should play him

  • If he would have been alive he'd be the biggest singer/songwriter in the world, not even John Mayer would be able to touch the heights he would gain.

  • I cannot put in words what an amazing and talented and beautiful person Jeff is.

  • @VeraEllenWilliams

was not is :p I share your feeling about J.B

  • he is soo cute, and sweet .. and his music is awesomee (: i love you jeff !! rip ; i can't believe he passed ?!?! so sad.

  • evan dando!!!

  • evan dando!!!

  • 5:28 I love you
