Where everything else in nature has a specific pragmatic reason for displaying something resembling beauty to 'attract' another specie or same specie, be it for food or procreation...you can display beauty or enjoy it purely for beauty's sake alone. We can understand the concept that brain and 'mind' are two different things...and we can be pro-active through logic and reason, and exercise self control instead of being re-active and instinctive. We can grasp concepts that are unique to the human psyche and we 'know' that we are different from the rest of life on this planet.

Your question to me is such an example... Your question alone (Why is that?), distinguishes you from any other specie on this planet. Actually the song lyrics come from the Bible, spec. Isaiah chapters 52 + 60, which speak of the physical restoration of the Jewish people to their ancient Holy Land inheritance, as well as their spiritual restoration to fellowship with God thru His Son Yeshua. Sorry to break it to you, but this is not about Christians but all about Israel. Peace :)
