Why couldn't they have reused the same concepts (not the same videos though) in Shogun 2? Granted those new ones are great but blowpipe, just to name one example, is sorely missing from the repertoire of the ninja's assassination methods.

@BFCrusader Personally I miss the throwing blade double decapitation and the failure where the target pulls the string the ninja is using to poison him most of all. The new videos are cool, but they lack the epic silliness that some of these videos had.... Not to mention blood.

@m78991234 You are taking it too in context. This is just a cinematic, it doesn't demonstrate what actually happened. There may have been instances where priests where murdered by use of explosives, but it's not the "only" way this happened. I believe that Creative Assembly used this concept as since gunpowder was introduced by the Europeans, it's poetic to show the Japanese kill them off by gunpowder weapons.

@link670 That's a very judgemental way of saying it. Historically Europe was almost entirely Christian, and most people thought it their duty to save the souls of 'non believers'. It was considered a very 'normal' part of daily life, like the majority of people now use the internet and consider it 'normal'. Sure it was a very aggressive way of pushing our culture on others, but your explanation's a bit harsh when judging people in a timeperiod completely different from ours, don't you think?

@menu111117 I'm not denying that some converted of free will, I am saying that the introduction of the religion did interrupt society. Like you said, the Daimio's and Shoguns of Japan did slaughter those who converted, but who brought the religion to Japan in the first place? The Japanese ruling class of the era don't have clean hands, but neither do the Europeans who introduced it in the first place.

Lies, lol. Missionaries went of their own free will, Japanese converted of their own free will, and then the shogun went OH NOES! and killed them all for abandoning the old religion. Yes, it contributed to Japan losing it's isolationist state, but there's many more factors than religion that influenced it much, much more. The church at the time wasn't that forceful outside of Europe. Don't use a vid to preach anti religion, yea? Or anything really.
