soy milk has a lot more calcium and protein than almond milk so i would recommend that..ans as for the whipped cream u can buy a can of coconut milk chill it in the fridge and scoop the cream off the top :)
Why are you saying this?,are you a lesbian too?,you seem to watch ALL her videos.
Lesbians and ALL Homosexuals are defectives. If your mum was a lesbian, you would not exist and be alive, unless she looked for some spare sperm knocking around, then you would not have a dad,you would wake up every morning to two mums and have the piss taken out of you at school.would you like that?. Mentally Defective people make society sicker.
@hexvexlovesyou She is new to veganism. In other words, she's just learning. Unlike you she did not come into this world knowing everything about everything. Besides, there are plenty of places where we vegans can find our dietary needs. Animal products are not necessary. Why is it that so many of you intolerant know it alls have been drawn to this video?
all that stuff in packages and boxes with logos on them are processed foods. Vegan can be very unhealthy, the video had a good start with all the fruit and vege. Do some research on soy it is not a healthy food. Humans do not need beans, soy, or any protein. Eventually you may like to experiment with removing the wheat and the grains, that stuff is no good either.
Congrats on becoming vegan! I'm new to Veganism myself. Just a bit of advice. The more you stay clear of processed foods the healthier you'll become - including processed vegan food. Just because it's vegan doesn't mean it's healthy. High fructose corn syrup is a killer and it's in just about everything processed. Good luck to you!
it's really too bad that some people have nothing better to do than to look for vegan videos just to bash them. screw those guys... anyways! keep up the good work! I was vegan for a year and then I fell off the wagon. my new year's resolution was to get back to what I knew was good for me, and I've been doing it. P.S. You are frikkin gorgeous!!!
Hya you bought the best Almond Milk it`s my favorite brand but I buy the unsweetened cuz I`m Diabetic as for the Soy Milk goes I prefer Vitasoy Fat Free Vanilla flavored or their Sugar Free Chocolate or Vanilla and by the way try the Vegan Meltable Cheese by Rice Meadow it`s lovely....
p.s Being vegan is not about weightloss, it's about an ethical, moral diet for the animals, just so happens to be great for your health..but has nothing to do with weightloss at all!
Great video! Dont forget to buy some nutritional yeast..great on popcorn, pasta, and salads! :)
And to whoever said no potatoes and tofu..whatever! I eat yummy everything, scalloped potaotes with soymilk, veggie chilli with faux ground round and everything in between, you dont have to live on spelt and quinoa to be a vegan! xxx
Just stick to an alkaline diet. Stay away from white and brown rice. Only black rice and quinoa. Stay away from tofu and soy. And wholegrain bread... Rye bread is fine.. So is spelt. Potatoes is a no no. Man made and not natrually accuring. Alot of vegans dont do it right so they get bad results. Peace x
hey i would recommend you going to whole foods because the owner is actually a vegetarian and it would be great to endeavor a industry from a person with a moral purpose :)
p.s. vegan diets dont cut out processed food. All the soy meats, cheeses, and basically every substitute for non-vegan products are extremlyyyy processed to get the right color, texture, and taste. This is why it's best to focus more on beans, legumes, nuts, etc. for protein. Good luck!
The soy station "cheese" is not vegan. It has casein (milk product), I think. I'm not sure off the top of my head if that's the ingredient it has but I know for sure it is NOT vegan. Also, beware of all "soy" cheeses and products. That only means they contain soy, not necessarily that they don't contain animal products. (this goes for "non-dairy" creamers, etc. too) :)
Trader Joe's has "food sheets" that are category specific. ie vegan, vegetarian, gluten free...one of the MANY reasons I <3 Trader Joe's! Makes grocery shopping SO much easier!
i keep hearing the brand so delicious is good but im a begining vegan and havnt tried it yet also some bread contains white instead of non refined sugar and some white sugars contain bone chard. so just make sure u get one that has unrefined sugar.also a really good vegan egg recipe is from theveganzombie and he's here on youtuble just put theveganzombie into the search engine.
I don't get it---why not honey? Bees aren't animals, they're insects, and beekeepers (like myself) treat their bees like babies. They require a lot of TLC, and they honestly aren't surviving well without care anymore. Many bees in the wild are dying off, while cared-for honey bees are thriving. Not sure why you wouldn't want to support that! Also, have you tried coconut nectar as a sweetener? Trader Joe's should have it.
Congrats on going vegan! I just want to tell you about one thing that you might want to research which deals alot with soy. Look up genetically modified products, be careful dont buy anything that is owned by Monsanto!!
Also a really informative food documentary you should watch is food matters! it it amazing!
hey im not vegan yet, but soon to be! but i do drink almound milk i reallllly like almound breeze vanillia unsweetened. its so good. and with cerial omg! to die for plus it has double the calcium than reguar milk!
@JKeenan98 Congrats and good luck. I think you will succeed. I frankly think eating meat is rather primitive. I made a video with expressing that opinion. Check it out! /watch?v=aS5CpSXDULM
TJ doesnt have vegan cheese....the cheese from there has CASEIN in it. Buy DIAYA cheese. its amazing and great. you can get it from Whole foods and other health food places. YOu can cook with olive oil, Coconut oil is also a very good cooking oil as well and good for you. I recommend you do more research on veganism. if you like i know plenty of info on it and can recommend good books to choose from or websites to help you make better choices
way to much damn plastic bags for all of your stuff....you should invest in re-usable fruit and veggie bags. also why do your banana's need to be in a bag? SUCH A WASTE!!!
I'm not vegan BUT I respect the vegan lifestyle. I'm trying to add more healthy veggie/ fruit into my diet. I do eat many vegan/vegetarian foods. My faves: Rice Dream vanilla drink, Rice Dream frozen dessert, So Delicious Coconut milk yogurt (coconut base, no dairy), Tofutti brand, dairy free (amazing blintzes), Agave nectar (plant based, honey replacement), Morning Star (everything), Whole foods vegan and vegetarian sushi! Pectin (fruit derived gelatin replacement). Get vegan supplements too!
One soy milk I can never forget is the chocolate soymilk from president choices blue menu. I think they sell it at loblaws. So good! It's so creamy and chocolatey. Compared to other brands it's like heaven!
a really good dairy free milk is rice milk, especially rice dream, thats the one i use and it tastes much better than soy (plus its better for the environment) and the one i buy is a special one that is packed with calcium and lots of vitamins,
also, if you want whipped cream, there is a vegan whipped cream that is almond flavoured and it really does tatse exactly the same as normal whipped cream, just with almond flavour obviously x
@ohmeandmybigideas about the cheese i did find some things that i didnt like about it but in my opinion it was a pretty good cheese in taste wise. about soy, yes i was able to educate myself on soy products and i did limit my intake. i went more towards a raw food vegan diet, not 100% raw foods but about 60% of it :) thanks you!
well by what i know about vegans and honey is that its coming from an animal. such as wool, vegans wont wear it because it comes from sheep. the point i guess you can say is animal freedom. yes they dont kill bees for honey or sheep for their wool but just the fact of using animal products. there are some vegans that do eat honey, its just a personal choice honestly. let me know if that helped :)
When it comes to meat and dairy replacements try to limit the amount of soy you're eating to a lower level. Some studies have shown that eating a lot of soy for women can increase your risk of estrogen related cancers (ie. breast, cervical, uterine). When buying soy/almond milk make sure it's fortified with Calcium & Vit. D. That soy sensation cheese sucks... it's dry and doesn't melt well. Try Daiya... it's so good and melts well, also no soy.
@crugts I don't normally comment on what people write months ago,but your comment was so mean and intolerant as to deserve a response. People do all sorts of things for any number of reasons---you food fascist. Your reasons for eating vegan does not constitute the only reason for doing so and if it's a lifestyle choice of which you approve then one would think that you would support the choice even if it's motivation is different from yours. God,I hate narrow minded people.
soy is actually really bad for you, its like cows milk, in that it causes the body to form mucus and clogs up the body causing inflammation, diseases and intolerances. You should read the book "the raw food detox diet" (dont be put off my the title, its not a diet book at all, but so informative about whats good/not good for your body and why!)…alot of 'vegan' products on the market are actually processed and really bad for you, so be warned!
You said you didn't want your bread to contain honey. Well, what's wrong with honey?! This is a true question, please answer me cause I educate myself about raw and vegan. Thanks!
just something to think about, but soy products aren't the greatest to consume. It's worse for people under the age of 18, but still not the greatest later on. The reason being is that it is chalk full of hormones. Soy is a big part of why a lot of girls are starting to mature faster and start their menstrual cycle earlier. But anyway, just something to think about :) I know I will never go for the soy products
Thank you everyone for your support. I will continue to make more videos regardless what haters say like @bcho1234! You don't phase me! Just don't watch me :)
I have been a vegan for a little over a year now. I recommend Silk soy milk. Their vanilla, very vanilla and Chocolate taste great. A couple of comments mentioned Blue Diamond almond milk and I agree that taste great too.
Thank you for making this video. I was wondering the types of items to purchase when your vegan or vegitarian. I really want to eat healthier. Please make more videos if you have any other information.
I buy soyrizo all of the time as well!! That stuff is absolutely amazing. and I always have tofu on hand because my mom and I make a lot of our breakfast burritos with it :D haha!
a great almond milk is Almond breeze i think the brand is blue diamond. i love it!! ive only tried the vanilla flavor but i heard they are all really good
@Thepurpz also, I'm not a weak person. I don't give into temptation or cravings. I'm very self driven. If im going to do something I'll do it. But thanks for wishing me luck ;)
Thepurpz: you have a point. But I was vegetarian for five years and now I'm vegan so it's easier! I'm still fully motivated and honestly I haven't craved any dairy or sweets and I'm proud of myself. I love being vegan. I do get rude comments, always. But I love it and I'm still fully motivated!
Also, you don't necessarily eliminate processed foods just by becoming vegan. The cheese, for instance, and vegan hot dogs/burger patties if you eat those, are all heavily processed. Hopefully the majority of your diet is fruits, vegetables, and beans anyway though.
Good luck.... most people are excited about veganism for the first few weeks or months, but cravings and addictions to meat, dairy, and processed sweets are hard to kick, no matter how much guilt you pour on yourself. I'd recommend tapering off slowly rather than going 100% all at once, and take it day by day, meal by meal. You'll be more likely to stick with it. Otherwise, it'll be interesting to see where you're at with this in a year ;) Like I said though, good luck!
Oh, and instead of eggs you can use a lot of other stuff. You actually don't have to buy an extra egg-substitute. 1 Table spoon of soybean flour plus two table spoons of water will replace one egg! There are lots of other options, just do some research at the tons of vegan websites! (The Peta website is acutally quite helpfull, even if you don't support Peta.)
Interesting video! For the bread I would try again to get some wholegrain bread because it contains a lot more iron, vitamins and so on. Probably they got wholegrain bread without honey in a bakery/bread shop (not sure which is the right word). At least where I live (Germany) that is no problem, but Germany is always said to be the country with the largest variety of bread so that's probably not so helpful. :)
Just to let you know there is vegan butter and it really GOOD! It is also a lot lighter than regular butter and doesn't have that greasy teats regular butter can give sometimes.
@ashleyncolin80s OMG!!! I didn't know that! Thank you SOOO much for letting me know! Do you recommend any brands of cheese? Thanks for your help and for your compliment :) oh btw do you know white chocolate mocha from Starbucks contains dairy if I ask for it with soy milk instead? I know they use syrups for flavor.
I love your video way to go on being vegan. I just wanted to let you know that the cheese you bought isnt vegan its got a form of milk ingredient in it thats hidden. Also I want to give suggestion on alternatives to milk, coconut milk unsweetened is also good. The almond milk you is generally really good.

@12oYALMakeup ooooh vegan butter i have to try it :D

@gracie2000lou I have the iPhone 3GS do you know what they're called?
forvrfierce21 11 months ago
If you have an iPhone, there are a few great apps that you can look up a restaurant or a specific food and see if it is vegan
