He won, he's earned the right to look smug. He dropped back that far to avoid any risk of a sack, since it was 4th down and all. He's wearing a tux. That's what you wear with a tux. What a moron.
I was 13 and i watched this game in my room on my B&W TV. But I remember when Dan threw the ball my eyes got locked on #80 running down the far side line. he was open and i was watching him and then i heard the announcers say TOUCHDOWN !!! I had to wait for the replay to watch the TD LOL Still a great memory from way back when.
Too bad (for Pennsylvanians, anyway) there's less and less talent coming out of that state. Ohio, too.
When there are no jobs, there are less people living there, as they all move to better locales. Less people, less high school football players. Less talent coming out of the high schools... well, let's just say the SEC has it locked up for a while.
My favorite game ever! I remember watching as a little boy. I really hate Penn St., and always like to see them lose, but on some level, Pitt, Penn St., and WVU beating Georgia in the 76, 82, 83, and 06 Sugar Bowls is very satisfying. LETS GO PITT!!
Sugar 2010? Can we invite a 7-5 Georgia team to play?
If ever there was an example of why there should have always been a playoff system in college football, it was that era of PITT football AFTER they won the national title. 33-3 over a three year span? Wow. Was there a more talented team in the nation back then? I guess today's USC Trojans are another example. Anyway, we need a playoff, but it will never happen. Politics. All politics.
I was at this game as a freshman at Pitt. It was the greatest football game I ever saw. HAIL TO PITT!!
sixcarTN..yes they do have a team. In fact Pitt was one of only 4 NCAA Division One schools to play in a bowl game in football and have a Sweet 16 basketball appearance this past season.
Their baseball team hasn't been any good since Tim Wakefield pitched for them though. Which is kind of a shame, as I'd like to see them win a few games since their Triple-A team is located in Indiana.
Can anyone tell me the name of the song playing right when Marino makes the pass? Is that an NFL Films song, or what?

This sounds crazy, but I hated Marino when he was at Pitt, but when Miami drafted him I fell to the floor in my youth and said "Thank you so much".

what a fairy drop-back by Marino. And how smug does he look? What is up with the other guy and the bow tie...

Georgia also finishing 10-1-1 and a win over #2 Texas in the Cotton after the 83 season. Great 4 season span for Dooley.

A three year record of 33-3. Name me any team that wouldn't be happy for that kind of record these days.

no doubt. Pitt had it rolling from 76 or so thru 83

Penn State did hand Pitt their lone loss that year, winning in a shocking 48-14 upset, so I think that should count for something.

Penn State Sucks!Their greatest moment was when Joe Pa snapped his leg trying to coach...What a spazz : )

Penn State has two, and it should be more, at the very least, four. 1969 and 1994 should have also been national championship years.
