Who did Mario's voice? (BETA, like anyone knows.) It was interesting that they used a place-holder voice like that. I would have expected Mario to have a deeper voice, or one similar to Capt Lou Albano's voice.

Differences: The room to Whomp's Fortress is smaller.

Mario's voice is different.

The painting is unused in the final game.

HUD and life bar.

WF has different textures including the ones for the thwomps.

The thwomps don't make their trademark grunt when landing.

DDD's music is slightly different, and the whirlpool and manta are missing.

What appears to be a ring of blue coins is at the bottom of the water.

Bowser's arena has a cloudy blue sky, and his growls are different.

Information about Super Mario 64 first leaked out in November 1995, and a playable version of the game was presented days later as part of the world premiere for the Nintendo 64 (then known as the "Ultra 64") at Nintendo Space World. The basic controls had at this point been implemented, and the game was reportedly 50% finished, although most of the course design remained. There were at least 32courses planned, but the number turned out lower in the final game, as only 15 courses

Im making my own mario 64 beta on toads tool. I tried my best making the textures on paint lol. I havent finished it its gonna take a while but theres not many screenshots of all the levels so its hard to make so i cant do it all.Anyway people put pictures of sm64 on but with the live,coin,and star changed and small textures.

This game was originally going to be for the SNES and it was going to be called Super Mario FX using the FX chip and data says that Luigi was going to be playable and an egg meaning mabe Yoshi also and a feather probably meaning there could be an apperance of cape mario to tell the truth it sounds a lot betterI never liked Mario 64 mainly the puzzles it didnt have enough action I like power up's a lot more.

If you didn't know, There's actually a Yoshi egg hidden in the final version's deep data, as well as a Blargg. I actually tried using the egg texture as a coin and it looked pretty neat. My hack also has some beta elements in it. You should check it out.

Perhaps it was a fake hack. Or maybe it was the real deal after all. Some greedy owner of the free "Space World" Ultra 64 cartridge may have ripped the ROM image and played it. There was a VERY RARE cartridge like that which was given out in E3 showcases, I'm sure it had about 20 different N64 Beta games on it!

Bowser actually has that same sound effect in the final version, it's just played back at a lower pitch. His laugh is also the same laugh as the Boos, just with a lower pitch.
