The book of Jude warns us about these people how they crept in amongst us, warning people read your bibles and expose them to others. GET THE WORD OUT!!
According to the emergent church. Hitler would be in heaven. And he didn't even need to repent and trust Jesus. So to all you emergent church people, your hitler is waiting for you in your warm heaven.
@Shoots1978 And according to your church the majority of people ever to live are eternally tortured even if the only sin they committed was not accepting Jesus as Savior.
Is there anything that your child could do that would make you lock them up in your basement to ETERNALLY torture them? Then why do you let God do that?
Early Church fathers boasted that those in heaven could enjoy watching those in hell suffer. Could you really enjoy heaven if anyone you knew was being tortured eternally?.
@mrpayne123 "according to my church?" Anyone in hell made their decision when they rejected the only one who can pull them out of the deep whole they dug them self into. Look at Noah's day they had over 120 years before the Lord God flooded the world. And since Jesus left it's been over 2,000 years. That's not even a logical argument saying my child. For one not everyone is God's child, as John say's in 1 John those who make it a practice to sin are not His.
@Shoots1978 How do you know the people supposedly in hell are there justly? Please explain your evidence of this. And isn't everyone born as God's child? So my question is apt. Like I said, because of a few sins God decides to send people who are infinitely stupider than Him to hell. Now again, would you do this to anyone who "was" your child at one time like God has. One more question, say I lived a life equal in sin to yours but I did not accept Jesus, Do I deserve eternal torture?
I respect the desire to become a communal Acts church, but you're far off.
We aren't to become more like the world, but more like Christ. As far as seeking after and choosing God - none seek after God (Romans 3) We don't choose God, He chooses us and makes us like Jesus.
The emerging church is a dangerous movement for the following reasons: first they teach Universalism which means everybody goes to heaven. Secondly they teach there is no hell. Thirdly they believe that the atonement isn't the main message of Jesus. Fourthly they believe the Bible to be incomprehensible. fifthly they believe homosexuality to be fine and feel that the book of Romans should be taken out of our Bibles. This isn't Christianity!
I disagree a lot with the emergin church also, but i also disagree with you on one thing- atonement- yes, Jesus caim for the purpose to atone- that was his hour, but you said his "message" not purpose- his message incorporated so much more- mostly the kingdom- Jesus' message was mainly about the kingdom, and it was initiated- brought in by the atonement- the atonement is only the initial part of the overall message, it's mainly about the kingdom- read the NT more- ALL of it
The Gospel is to be proclaimed, according to Scripture. The Gospel is the work of Christ, who bore the righteous wrath of the Just and Holy God on our behalf. God was under no obligation to save us, and by His infinite love and mercy became a man that man might be saved and thus becomes the Just AND the Justifier of mankind who is otherwise utterly lost.
The emergent movements heresies will never bring man to his God since it denies the very Person of God.
a christianity worth believing is found in the Bible as the inerrant word of God.
it is not true that one is never in a place of no return: blasphemy of the Spirit is just that place.
Pagitt preaches meaningless blather, not God nbut a church thatdoes not believe anything.
they can do this without me. emergent church is as bankrupt as the fundamentalists they oppose

recognition of sin is essential to our relationship with God. We are called to repent. It seems like you downplay repentance.
