thanks for uploading! i am way more familiar with the Opry Backstage show that used to air on the old TNN channel. Bill was one of the rotating hosts. He and Porter Waggoner often took turns. I like the opening and closing. I also like how it's set backstage, too. Some of the versions I saw, they were in a studio behind the audience and you could see the Opry performance through a window behind the host.
It's a long story, but my Mother served Kitty a warmed-over hamburger while Johnny and Jack waited for their car to be repaired in my Virginia hometown.
What year is this because I thought that the Opry didn't go syndicated until 84' and yet Marty Robbins is at the beggining of the video and he died in 82'. Anybody know?
I was writer on the "Backstage at the GOO" series, a Showbiz Inc. series. As I recall, we launched the series in 1978 and did the final episode in 1982.

Oh my gosh. This brings back so many memories. If this was launched in '78
I was 7 yrs old. I was raised on country
& this was one of the shows I grew up
watching. This & That Nashville Music, Nashville on the Road, Hee Haw,etc. They
sure don't make them like this anymore.
