This is such a strong introduction to IF that, although I already know all of this stuff, I keep rewatching it every so often just to feel happy. I mean, it has Nick Montfort plugging Bad Machine for nearly forty seconds, so it's clearly the best thing right before bed.

If you hate parser-based interface (command-prompt) then go try CYOA (Multiple-Choice). It's much easier to navigate like that through a text adventure.
