  • I remember first playing this game on Christmas day 1989. I thought it was the dogs bollocks ;-)

  • i had this game original for my c64 back in the days... i was so proud of it ( i think at least 20 years ago)

  • CPC version is 100 times better than this shit

  • @Misel982001 nobody cares about CPC...

  • @maiki60fps go check our new games and the CPC community then talk about the LEGENDARY CPC!

  • @Misel982001

graphically the Amstrad version was better than the C64 version

C64 version was better in the audio department than the Amstrad

  • @JasonLee310 as usual...but this does not mean that the version of the C64 is better.

  • @Misel982001

C64 games are usually graphically better than the Amstrad port

the first Double Dragon looks better on the C64 than on Amstrad

all C64 games had better aspects than the Amstrad (port) version

Amstrad Double Dragon 2 isn't 100 times better than the C64 port

Amstrad DD 2 doesn't look or sound 100 times better than on C64

  • @JasonLee310 Τhe CPC version is by far the best for its graphics gameplay and in this (rare) occasion on sound too.Check the longplay and you will realize.

  • Yeah it was a massive improvement on the original abysmal Double Dragon on the C64.

  • I love this game!!! I play it over 3 years every day after the kindergarden!!!!!!!! I love it. Than my C64 dies. I get a new c64 but it was not the same and i getting older and stop playing but now i wanna play one time with my brother again ^^ So cool. THX FOR THE VIDEO !!!!! NICE ^^ Old Times are good time

  • I knew keyboard hack for this game

    (Fast ground kick)

  • The C64 version has the best music if you ask me.

    Great game!

  • Lol i remember playing this christmas morning 1989,i was happy with this conversion at the time.I was not so happy with DD1 on the c64 though

  • Hahaha what's deal with the floating legs ? I have the disk version and it doesnt have that glitch.

  • It took a while loading so I wasn't paying attention to the game. That garage door opening almost gave me a heartattack. The C64 was great but was also a source of nightmare fuel at times with the glitches, earpiercing loading sounds and that noisy disk drive. o_o

  • nice conversion. had no idea it even existed on the c64

  • 6128 version is 10000 times better!!!

  • This was pretty flippin incredible for what the C64 can do. Music and everything. Shit.

  • Whats with the floating legs??

  • This version blows goats.

God the C64 was just as powerful as the NES and still we got this shit.

    Sad actually.

  • @snake2006 i loved the c64 back in its days and i still love it and i own one ^^ this was one of the greatest games so so fuck off NES ^^ i know super mario and zelda was great i played it 1000 times too^^ but nothing can beat the good old c64

  • @assi81912

I loved the Commodore 64. I used to own one when I was a kid to March 2006 when MINE GOT STOLEN WHEN MY APT GOT BROKE INTO. They took everything, my Spiderman comics which I had complete from Amazing Fantasy 15 all the way to Feb 2006.

I still love the C64. Doesn't change the fact that this is a piece of shit port.

Which pisses me off since the C64 was just as powerful as the NES and can do allot better, as evidenced by Turricain, Mayhem In Monsterland and other games.

  • @snake2006 turrican was so fucking great too and do u remember boulderdash giana sisters or bubble bobble and rainbow island ... i dont know how much hours i spent with those great games when i was a kid :)

  • @assi81912

I love the C64 Bubble Bobble. The music is so much better than the NES versions.

I also loved The Great Escape, Samurai Warrior Usagi Yojimbo was great, Wizball, I also like Knights (where you fight as a Knight in a suit of armour).

Forbidden Forest kicked ass as well. I didn't like the sequel Beyond Forbidden Forest though.

    Ghostbusters was awesome.

  • me too man

  • This game was the shit back in the day. I didn't have a Nintendo, so the old Commodore was the only way I could play games like this, and it delivered on this one. What I liked about this one was that you could still hear the punches and kicks while the music is playing, which wasn't true for all games. A lot of the games, you either could have just the music, or just the sound, not both.

  • Good comment man. I also didn't have an NES growing up and this was my bread and butter. Never could beat this game with a friend though, it was too tedious and impossible for one person.

  • agrred.i had a c64 before my nes and i loved this game.many memories watching this

  • i always used to think that the villain that appears @ 0:38 was french with a french hat and the moustache always used to make me laugh

  • I thought there was an updated version where DD1 had simeltaneous 2P mode?

I've got a rom where it has i think somewhere with trainer.

  • Yeah there was. I had the first one - it was sooo bad =p

  • Is this game actually worth playing though? I mean how does it fare against the nes version?

  • This game is definately worth playing! My fave action game on the C64! The best!

The graphics are good, the game elements are very detailed, the music is Dave Lowe at his best!

  • Oh my God the horror! The music is cool though for C64.

  • Yeah the music's good. And it seems like player 1 is Jimmy instead of Billy this time around.

  • they fall down like huge balls :)

  • ahhh.. i remember this game playing with my bro.. we had to wait about 15 20 minutes for loading the game :D

  • 100% better than the first

  • This brings tears to my eyes seeing this. I was so young when this came out. This was such a huge improvement over the first one for the c64. Least this was 2 players and didnt have that annoying bar in the middle of the person.

  • Great music alright!

    Very funky bassline.

Used love playing it with my brother as a child, never got passed level 3 though, too many bosses!

  • Make that level 4, and id like to add that the c64 versions music was much better than all the others, even the arcade!

    Just sounds more emotional.

  • 100% agree here! =) We have the same taste!

  • Certainly Virgin was one of the big commodore and when offered a convercion was quite noticeable, here you have a live example, a pity that the company did not conduct the first part of this saga.

  • Good memories playing this game.

    Music is great too.

  • looks a good version!! thx for uploading it!
