Beautiful...I first heard 'J' as a young soldier with the 8th Army stationed in Uijungbu during the summer of 1984...I loved it so much I memorized the words and still sing it today (with an Alabama accent)...thrilled to find it on youtube...

@homeflash It's true she was never the pretty singer, she always wore big glasses, knee length dresses and had a boy's haircut. She looks so much better now as an older woman. Everyone loved her because they knew she could really sing, her talent brought her fame, not they way she looked like with today's musicians. Such an incredible voice from such a tiny woman. She is incredible and timeless. I hope she continues to sing forever.

Can someone tell me a place for more info about her? Wikipedia didn't work this time, nor google... I like to know if she has been away from the artist life for long, sense there seem to be little of her videos from 90's for instance.

She got her career started winning a talent contest. Very successful singer for almost 3 decades but had a tragic marriage where husband actually committed suicide. She has married recently and moved to the US and hasn't sung since. Very talented singer and I am sure she will return one day, I hope.
