mine does the same to my Corie's, tetras and pearl gouramis. i found a glass bottle only he can fit through(beer bottle) boiled to sanitize it. tied fishing line to the bottle neck.i put the wafer in the bottle and sank it to the bottom and waited for a couple of hours untill he figured there was food in it. now he waits in the spot where i put his bottle, like a puppy dog! when he is finished i take out the bottle and do this every other day. my other fish now eat in peace
@Shareallicu They are great little fish! I had two in with neons, guppies and platies and they never showed any aggression. I would get more than two as they loved each other's company and were very playful. And they ate every last snail!
im a little surprised those other fish cant respect the personal space of a catfish, those thwings have poisonous spikes on their back, fish arent that stupid
plecos tend to do that when eating. when i had my fat pictus catfish, they used to try and nip at some of the plecos food, and he did the same thing, but when Zoidberg (the pleco) was done, they loved eachother again :D
you should add more wafers or also add some catfish pellets aswell plecs, loaches, cories etc all like them that should stop some fighting and aggresion
great sturisoma, and is that a hemiloricaria? i just bought 2 H. parva, and in my research i found a few species that look a lot like what you have there.
good bottom half of a tank. i don't usually mix americans and asians (cats and loaches etc.), but they all seem really healthy.
what is that very pretty looking one with the very long thin tail?

I'm thinking of getting Zebra loaches to eat my unwanted population of snails, how's their temperament? would they eat smaller fish like Neon Tetras?
Your looked friendly enough :0)

There were various foods all over the tank, she just became more and more bad tempered and this week had to be removed and put on her own.

I think they are, they used to spawn a lot until I moved them to another tank, i've had them for 18 months.

it's a five foot tank, there is plenty of room, she gets like that when I put wafers in.
squirrelrat 3 years ago
oh I see.
I have some otos with a bristle nose plec who hogs the wafers and one of the otos always sits right on top of his head when he is eating. :)
