I remember the whole film used to be on youtube at one point. probably been removed for some gay copyright reason or something. Its an excellant film and captures the atmosphere of the novels perfectly. I'm surprised it isnt more well known, but then I suppose Kafka is'nt really to everyones taste.
I'm just reading 'the trial' and it keep giving me nightmares......this movie did too, when I saw it back then, still remember the nightmarish atmosphere. Didn't 'enjoy' it in the normal sense, but rather suffered throught it.....with "the trial" it's the same, I keep wanting to stop reading and put it away, but somehow I feel I can't..........
Wow! Something in the middle between a movie about Kafka (1883-1924) and a movie by Kafka, full of quotations, references, winks, strange cocktails: something of fact, fiction, nightmare, biography, investigative thriller, horror fiction, and irritant fascinating. Thats a cool & elegant styling exercise dominated by the magnetic and haunted eyes of Irons.
"Kafka? you're too sensitive!"
"yes sir."
:D

Didn't realize at first that the actor who plays Kafka was the same as the bad guy in Die Hard 3...
