I love my 6 and I can just feel the quality and engineering that went into this car and it has a lot of legroom for us six footers (i'm 6'5'). Mines is Ebony Black which is a great color for this car.
and, as another positive attribute, it's assembled in the USA and by union workers (the only other mid-sized/affordable cars that can boast similar attributes are the Chevy Malibu, Mitsubishi Galant, Dodge Avenger, and Chrysler 200)
As the owner of my 4th Mazda an 07' Mazda6 5dr. I am glad they made it larger to compete with the others. But I will stick with my 07' that get's 25 mpg city and 32 hwy with an 18gallon fuel tank. It is roomy enough for me! I had a 05' Mazda3 5dr which attracted the teen age crowd, the new one's new face is down right ugly! Mazda needs to tone down the face, it is too much!!
Size? The previous Mazda 6 was roomy. Why are americans so obsessed with fat sized cars. Bigger is not always better as long as it is comfortable. Unless of course if we really want to sprawl out in our cars like a guy come home from work sprawled all over the couch asleep with the TV left on.
Completely agreed. Maybe because North Americans are getting bigger and we spend increasingly more time on the roads stuck in traffic, therefore people expect to be multi-tasking inside their cars ...

It's perception--I don't think "Americans" are obsessed with big cars at all--
