That was the Atari 5200 that had the faulty controllers. The 7800 controllers corrected the proble with the 5200 version

That's beside the point. My first console was a Colecovision, after about ten years, the controllers were both so fucked up you couldn't use them! We "fixed" them a hundred times!

I also grew up with this game, and something happened while I was playing it... it happened exactly once in my life, and everyone I've talked to has said that it cannot happen. The game was giving me an instant replay after I beat a level, and I actually DIED IN THE MIDDLE OF IT. The music stopped while the food was burying my character, and the text "ALMOST MADE IT" flashed on the screen. I had to start the level over again but I don't think I lost a life. Has this ever happened to anyone else?
