Our culture is different than the western culture...it is very common to see men dance like this in Egypt in weddings or with friends and IT IS NOT GAY(for those who might wonder) I will give an example of the difference...Men who wear ear rings in Egypt are considered gay...not in here...See my point... I understand where you are coming from. I considered wearing a Gallabeya when I stared, but for an American audience it looks too much like a dress. Pants and a vest, with a belt even if you show show skin they see as being masquline. By the way, in Bambuteya the guys sometimes wear a vest without a shirt

Many Egyptian guys know how to dance, but they don't do it on stage. In America guys started learning it and performing. We are still trying to figure out a costume that suits us. Most guys are not trying to immitate the women, just that the public, especiallythe women expects us to show skin. Personally I don't like to so I wear a mesh shirt, but I wear a fringe belt 'cause I'm skinny and need the movements to show up from a distance on stage.
