Having just searched 'mig-29 crash' and getting lots to view i thought someone might like to tell the russians that when you go to an airshow it's to show off the aeroplane, not how well the ejector seats work on their new toys.

This isn't a Mig 29 and it isn't in Tokyo. This is in France and the aircraft was a Sukhoi SU-30mk being flown by Sukhoi test pilot Vyacheslav Averyanov. Apparently the glare of the sun caused him to think he was higher than he actually was.

That's what altimeters are for. An American F-16 pilot flying with the thunderbirds made a similar mistake. He forgot to adjust his altimeter from one airport to the next at an airshow. Consequently, his altimeter gave him a false reading of his altitude, and he crashed.

He doesn't fly with the thunderbirds anymore.

This is pilot error big time.

I would say the vodka problem isnt a great thing either. n the pilots arnt stupid, it aint like russian pilots are stupid. i dnt kno what it is. maybe the russian plane manufacturers try and keep up with the US but dnt have the money, so they have too fast airplanes.
