I randomly learn parts of this piece when I've exhausted everything else in my folder. :)
It'd help a lot if you raised the keyboard or bent your knees a little to get closer to it. Also, really close to the beginning when it's piano, make sure that each note is still heard (esp in the melody) even though it's soft.
This is his dad. I don't remember for sure the name of the piece. Maybe Rhythm Song but I don't know the composer. My son's marching with the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps this summer so I don't hear from him often. I'll ask him when I do and let you know. He's playing 2nd bass drum.
hey there Bruce! The piece is called Rhythm Song, like you said. It's by Paul Smadbeck. Also, let your son know that I am a former Cavalier. I played Vibraphone in 2003. Great work with the solo, Adam...and keep rockin' this summer! SPLOOIE!!!!!
Don't lock your intervals. Try not to downstroke so much, and work on keeping your mallets level... And your right hand is like a whole foot above the board at times... Maybe it's just that the marimba's too low?? But I do like how you move with the music ^_^
I love this marimba^ ^
good!!

Use blocks ... Im 6'6, a tall guy like yourself, and accuracy and ease of playing both increase when the marimba is at the height that it should be.

Or just raise the marimba... Look at the stand, I think its "raiseable"... It's a yamaha, right?
