  • We NEED more people "saying love and peace!" He is in a power position and is able to spread that word. It's so important right now to get that message out.

    Much love :-)

  • He look really chill in this video

  • Ive never seen him smile, he's such a laid out guy and a great singer

  • can't wait to see him next week!!

  • I think what people fail to understand is that: it's our land, Palestine had it for a couple thousand years- now it's ours again.

  • the reason for the existance of the Hezbollah that 'we must try our best to understand' is this, - Destroy the Jewish state!! that's their whole gig!!

How about putting down your weapons and rockets and let those people have their little sliver of land and there's plenty of room for the 'Palestinians' among their own people, they have 22 other counties for God's sake!!

Open your mind and see both sides and don't believe that propoganda that you swallow

  • THE STRIFE of Hezbollah????

  • I wish he would expose his views on zionism, to avoid assumptions

  • I've read that his sect of judaism supports zionism and in order to be a member of that you are meant to support Zionism. Whether this is true I'm not completely sure theres a blog about it on the net somewhere. Obvs he wont speak out about it because its not clever business wise. I won't be spending any money on Matisyahu merchandise or music until he speaks honestly about it. I am a big fan though, and he is in a perfect position to speak out against the Israeli aparteid.

  • yeah i feel similar. he's coming on tour with K'naan. i love K'naan but am not sure if i want to give money to Matisyahu until i understand his views on these subjects. some of the few lyrics i have heard from him have rubbed me the wrong way as well as interviews too. so i may have to miss the K'naan show hahah.

  • I heard him speak on Israel Radio and he loves Israel 100%, he's a great zionist, (which means simply that you believe in the Jewish people having the right to live on their ancestral land) and as for apartheid, don't believe that propaganda, go there and see for yourself!!! and if you won't buy anything from anybody who supports zionism then you might as well not be using a computer or a cell phone or a million other things because so much of what we use comes right out of Israel.

  • he can't express himself the way he wants to in interviews i noticed he would want to say more in few words but it comes out superficial, you can see he is better at writing , he says so much through his songs :D

  • you know? you know? you know?

  • MATISyouknow

  • Lol, in a silly way, this guy makes me proud to be a jew.

  • @dak879 I dont think its silly.

  • @urielavishalom I think you misunderstand what I mean by "silly". When one thinks of sources of Jewish pride, it is certainly ironic that a reggae/hip-hop music artist would come to mind. It is so odd that it brings a smile to my face and I can't help but be amused. And that is what I call silly, since it is ironic.

  • @dak879 Well put. I totally did misunderstand. I agree with you though.

  • hahahha nice one

  • and some people say like alot or somthin its just how people talk

  • Hmm... I thought he would sound much diffrent... i assumed he would have a very thick accent... still awesome music.. awesome mindset.

  • he grew up in new york.

  • mw2 thaTS Y I LOOKED THIS UP LOL

  • who cares judge his music and thts it....u cant judge anytin else about him except his music so sush please

  • haha.

  • i love matisyahu...i really do.

but. whats up with the accent? does no one find that odd that he like.."fakes" it in songs?

no disrespect to him. i just find it kind of weird.

  • The accent gets heavier when he starts singing

  • no i mean...he doesn't have one when talking.

  • Yeah he does but it is very hard to notice it.

  • He's from New York, he doesn't actually have the accent he has when he sings... at all

But his songs are good so idc

  • most singers do that havnt u noticed that basicly all people drop their accent and sound pretty english/american when they sing pop?.

listen to scotish people etc u see what i mean.

  • A singer has the right to manipulate his sound like any other musician. Would you complain that a guitar sounds Egyptian even though it's not? I mean, that's a big step and I'm not bashing you, I'm just saying. It's not necessarily "faking" it, just altering for a performance and he does it well, that could even be natural for his singing voice, you know?

  • Yeah, i mean i love it. i never add an accent when i sing...i just remove my baltimore accent so i don't sound trashy haha.

i was just so surprised when i heard him talk...i think it's awesome though.

  • u know yo

  • you know .. ya you know lol

  • HE said it, theres no easy answer, dont take matisyahoo to serious or anything on TV to seriously. Be yourself. Be unique, be angry at Bush and at the Billderberg group, look 'em up, theyre the ones to blame...

  • i'm christian yet it sounds like we share the same beliefs...idk

  • i understand i thinks its the overall search for love that binds

  • i love you man

  • I love you too.

  • lol i think matisyahu has better worship music than most christian bands. I'm also a christian, and judism and christianity are quite different in their veiws on jesus christ and the second coming of christ. however, the morals and old testament veiws are worshiping the same god. just don't lose sight on Jesus!!

  • I agree totally with you Timmy. Though Hezb'allah has killed civilians, they have been more than anything a defense organization. Israel has been eager to occupy many areas in the Middle East, and in the Thirty six day war, Israel killed way more civilians than Hezb'allah did. Hezb'allah targeted military bases, while Israel used tanks to occupy civilian territories and bombed the airport (where Hezb'allah wasn't even stationed). It's all a double standard.

  • Casualties are going to happen in war, military and civilian. But you cannot compare innocent, accidental casualties, to a blatant disregard for human life. Groups using children as soldiers, such as vietnam, and these terrorist groups that are not bound by the Geneva Convention and use it against military forces by using ambulances as suicide vehicles and firing at troops from civilian buildings and crowds. This is not to say that killing innocent people is ok, even by accident, but they happen

  • to continue, if your enemy is not abiding by the rules of warfare then you are playing with much needed hands begind your back. These organizations have no fear of death or value for human life which makes conventional warfare nearly useless. Guerilla tactics require guerilla tactics. We are in a new day and era. The days of marching in formation toward your own death as you volley shots is far from over. Now they fire behind children, hospitals, and civilian establishments.

  • I would recommend you looking into the Shi'a belief in martyrs, and tell me that isn't a value of human life. Hezb'allah doesn't use children in battle, like al-Qaeda, the Taliban, and the LRA. Israel doesn't play by the rules of warfare either. It took two soldiers being kidnapped for them to declare all out war on Hezb'allah, meanwhile their prisons are chockfull of Hezb'allahis ready to fight for their home, unlike the Israel army fight for money and empire. It's a double standard.

  • There is also a difference between not being bound by the Geneva Convention, and having a complete disregard for it and UN law. Illegal occupation should not fly in the 21st century, but who's standing up to them? No one, that means the people affected have to. Hezb'allah is only defined as a terrorist group by the US and a few other countries. Defense org. is a better term. Also, when Israel went into Qana, they knew the majority there were children on a playground. And they bombed anyway.

  • 'lack of sympathy for Hezbollah'

Where are you living dude? Hezbollah is a confirmed terrorist organization. They murder and strap bombs to themselves. Sympathy? How about some sympathy for all of the innocent deaths they have on their bloody hands.

Did I read your post wrong?

  • fight the power

  • he says you know alot.....love his music though, ive never heard him talk before this, i thought he had an accent

  • I think its cool he doesn't let his education overwhelm his personality. Its cool to see someone not trying to get one up on people just because they have a little education and maybe even perhaps money. That makes him more obtainable as a person. I think he rocks. Bless him and Bless HE who is to be blessed!!

  • He uses the word "you know" frequently, both here and when he addresses the crowd at live shows...not sure why. Who cares, though? He's awesome.

  • The dude who's interviewing him sucks...

  • he's probably tired

  • I thought you were cool, but apparently you chose Isreal over humanity.

  • and the Palestinians choose humanity???

  • hi i have a question how can i do to download this video thxx!

  • you'll get a huge reward matis!

  • I love this man he is an inspiration.
