The vikingships are a little out of place, but otherwise a great adaption of great germanic myths and sagas. Some runestones also have motiv from this epic story: Just look for: ramsundsberget, runstenar, sigurdsstenen etc, on Google..
main actor makes Siegfrid look like a total dumbass...for example "What a beatiful bird!" part:D...his acting really made me laugh....I probably wouldn't watch the whole movie if there wasn't Kristinna Loken in it:P
It says in the title, but in North America it was renamed Dark kingdom: The Dragon King. It wasn't released in theaters in North America, I only saw it on Space, or the Sci-Fi channel.
This is a RTL production, a broadcasting station which is ver (in)famous in Germany - cause they put a lot of money in projects (like this)which have to be mass compatible in the first case!! Even if they`ve got to rape an ancient german legend for it!!:P:P
what the fuck does burgundians and saxon have to do with the rheingold? its a legend from the norse about vikings

They used the name of the tetralogy of Richard Wagner's Operas, but changed everything. A real shit!
I would love to see real good movies about Wagner's Operas, all of them!

The continental Saxons had no kings, but they had a duke (german: Herzog; oldgerman: herizogo). They voted him at the Thing.
