  • great player , good nite out for guitar enthusiasts, hope the secretaries on the dance floor dont block the view too much ,i guess every one grooves their own way

  • tony springer was at the el mocambo in the early nineties and neil young walked in.i ran upstairs to tell him,and 5 minutes later he came out and did a set of hendix that floored everyboby!!!i had seen him many times being a fan,but to know that he could take it to that level.neil was visibly shaken up by it!!!!TONY IS FRICKIN AMAZING!!!

  • What I said is true HaawkFunk. Shit. I told him i wanted to do Manic Depression but he said that song was not right for the small Jazz bar we were in. He then let some friend of a friend of his play VoodooChile. I'll still check him out through. Is he still at the Black Swan?

I find the toronto musicians kind of arrogant/snobby as well.

  • TheConstruct related to us: "I went on stage with him once. He started to play a song I didn't know and I overheard him turn to his drummer to say.. "This guy can't play."

Pay no mind to this uppity jig. His playing is amateurish...his singing sucks too.

    Frank

  • Wow..I can understand that you don't care for this cat....but "uppity jig" ? That's uncalled for. Wow.....

  • his playing is great but if his personality is the way you say it to be wich believe me i come across these kind of cats all the time then that just brings him to the level of being an asshole musician wich will ultimately put him back in line with the rest and i dont care if he did this whole number behind his back the same way those assholes recieve nothing from me.

  • Tony "Wild T" Springer ROCKS !!!!

  • I jammed with him at a local jam. He was absolutely amazing. He commented on my playing and guitar (Rickenbacker 650 DVH)

  • I went on stage with him once. He started to play a song I didn't know and I overheard him turn to his drummer to say.. "This guy can't play." This was after I told him I didn't know the song (pink panther theme) and wanted to play some Hendrix. He then told me to hold back and he soloed while I just strumed the chordes. After the song was done I did some hendrix licks and he couldn't believe it. "what you could play that?!" he said.

I held back while he did the solos

  • If thats true, If I was you I would have walked off the gig, It's no excuse for a lack of respect no matter what your skills were. If he gives respect based on a persons musical ability then I guess he would kiss a better players ass then. Playing Jimi's music is deeper than guitar ability anyway and ability to copy someone else not what it's about.

  • Seen him live about 7 times I think over a 15 year period. Last time was in a really small venue... he came around and hung out at our table between sets, had a beer with everyone. He was even nice enough to let me try out the very guitar that he's playing in this clip! Thanks Tony for lots of great memories!

  • awesome - he's coming near my town on tour with a blues explosion tour can't wait to see him. Really underrated player.

  • my dad used to be the bassist for wild t

  • I play with him every sunday

  • Saw Wild T in a small Dutch town last year. Utterly AWESOME. Even did great renditions of Bob Marley. Man! He sure looked after me that nite.He deserves so much more Credit.

  • I saw him on Friday at Riffs and he was so cool, the best guitarist I have ever seen! and a really cool guy.

  • I saw him on friday, it was a realy great gig

  • used to see this guy play the Gasworks on Yonge Street in Toronto back in the early eighties in his Hendrix tribute band, Fire. Saw him at the Rondon too. He used to burn his guitar with lighter fluid ala Hendrix at Monteray. Yes, a hell of a guitarist and an approachable, nice guy.

  • Saw him last night at the black swan in toronto where he hosts an open stage every thursday. Deffinatly should check it out, even though not alot of people show up.

  • I hope we can get more of his stuff up! A great player, his songs are also great and a friendly and sincere personality too.

  • Saw him live three times, even jammed with the man... Nice Guy, really good show!

  • saw him in Groen Licht in the Netherlands a few times. WOAW. if WILD T is in your neighbourhood, do yourselve a favour go see/hear him & the band. It's more then live

  • he sounds good:D this song is not much covered..

  • Cool! This guy sounds just like Hendrix!
