  • I wanted too hear this so badly for the regimental march of the highlanders on Napoleon Total War! For the sake of putting a bad piper in for the regiment it would have made the game more addictive overall, fifes for the highlanders?pfffffff

  • @OperationDeviate Cock of the North

  • I love the bagpipes, how they fill me with energy. Nothing expresses lament or the surge of pride that the pipes can inspire. Whether you have Scottish blood or not they are a powerful instrument. Long live the pipes in their many forms from Scotland all the way to Turkey !

  • Is there a CD i can get these on!!? I want Gary owen on it too

  • Must of been fun to march in their regiment.

  • United Kingdom of Arthir Kirkland and his Irritating Brothers

  • I have the bloodline of the powerfull and notorious Clan Elliott of the Lowlands.

Long live England Ireland Scotland and wales

    Rule Britannia

    FORTITER ET RECTE !

  • No Yanks/Canucks here please, you are Americans, not Scottish.

To be Scottish you must be born and bred native to Scotland with at least one Scottish parent, if you were born and bred in Scotland to non-Scottish parents, then you would be a Scottish-national.

  • @TheFatalInstinct1 im born in and bred in england hahahah

  • Can't doubt the Scotsman's courage. This island and indeed the world would be different without it but still. to friend these pipes are as amazing as irn bru, and to the foe more terrible than rab c nesbitt! Can anyone tell me though if any scottish regiments fought near the Middlesex on the somme? Because my great grandfather fought there and swore til his dying day he heard bagpipes.

  • My late wife was of Highland ancestry; Clan Campbell of Argylle and the Royal Clan Stuart. I, on the other hand, am a mongrel of Irish and German ancestry.

Guess which one loved the pipes and which one hated them! She couldn't, as she put it, "stand the bloody things" and I've always loved them.

  • I think the Empire would've beaten the Rebel Alliance if they had a few regiments of good old scotsman!

  • SCOTLAND, ENGLAND WALES AND NI FOREVER WOOOO

  • I'm Polish, been to Scotland only once in my life, but I'm a native speaker in English, point is, I gotta say, even as a foreigner this tune makes me WANT to be a Scottsman!!!! I'd day marching to this any day!!!

  • @Hussar222 You should live up to your nickname

  • @Hussar222 It's "Scotsman", not "Scottsman", you only use two 'T' letters in the word "Scottish", get it right.

  • @TheFatalInstinct1 Sorry.....

  • @Hussar222 Nae bother ata kin

  • How could a man NOT march to his death by harmony of these tunes?

  • funny how theres people saying freedom on his depite the fact they marched into battle with this in the BRITISH army

  • best marsch ever!! greetings from sweden!!

  • I have shed blood for country and flag in three countries, to my fallen brothers may the earth cradle you softly and may your memory be eternal, as for me may the pipes play long and loud till i find my way back home!

  • this really encourages you to be badass scottish warrior

  • Newfoundlander reporting in. We may have been celebrated for our ferocity and courage in battle but the Grenadier and the Scottish Regiment had the mest marching music. From the Rock, to the Highlands, and down to london beyond, fight hard and proud. For freedom and glory brothers!

  • @Herbstgespenst

No need for that kind of bullshit. It's all Britain.

  • these buggers made up the best damned infantry in the british army

    rule brittania

  • Bloody fantastic. Cheers!

  • @XCUMoose they played it faster during the scene when the scottish troops went foreward

  • i was looking at my family crests, from my nans side (dad's mum) and it looks very similar to the rampant lion on the The Royal Flag of Scotland

  • yea im sicka americans proclaiming that theyre 100% scottish hahaha. well i dont blame em. im not scottish but it seems itd be pretty sick ta be haha

  • For the people who talk smack about this song. This is the music they play before they dismember you,ya english bastards if anybody blows around here,it must be you, from your ancestors the english that brought, homosexuality to the Americas

    buggers

  • @chambalane1

What the fuck are you talking about?

  • @chambalane1 Mmmm you blame the English for bringing homosexuality to the Americas? Man, you can't bring something if people are born with it :P

  • @ViccardXViccc People are not born as homosexuals. It is a learned, acquired perversion.

  • @KMW52 You're that kind of person which answers to a post from seven months ago, to give yourself a good feeling. Good luck finding a life, and if you can't, put a loaded gun in your mouth and pull the trigger.

This way, you will help the world more than you ever could dream.

  • @ViccardXViccc Typical reply from a loving liberal! You people are very good at teaching how others should act. Too bad you never follow your own advice.

  • @KMW52 I don't care how you live. It just bother me that you just called all those people pervers.

  • those guys must do alot of blowing

    i wonder how they pracitice

  • this is cock o north

  • Stupid people keep fighting on internet. Just enjoy the music. Listening to music is an enjoyment of life. Why dont you people take it seriously

  • Stop arguing and enjoy the damn bagpipes people!

  • Sorry.

  • Uwielbiam Szkocję i szkotów.

  • Name of tune?

  • It's called "Cock of/o the north."

  • Being an Englishman and a Grenadier i shouldnt be saying this but i cant deny the fact that the pipes stir the blood!

  • its something else to march in line to these at re-enactments here in North America. And I'm a hatman.

  • @grenadier185

hi there the blood boid i work in

aberdeen for 5 year s and love it

    would go back tomrrow

  • @grenadier185 I'm responding to your comments about bagpipes on YouTube. I'm an American, but I have always loved to hear them. When I was a little boy, my uncle had a large collection of bagpipe records. I would sit with him & listen for hours. I had the good fortune when in college to live next to a woman in our apartment building who played the bagpipes. Probably most people were annoyed, but my wife & I loved it! My uncle died many years ago, but I'm thankful to him for showing me the pipes.

  • @KMW52 And considering you are low-minded Yankee, getting a gun wouldn't be difficult!

  • @grenadier185 ur a grenedier? what does a 21st century grenedier do?

  • @rahulpower Grenadiers are an infantry regiment, so front line line soldiers who have done many tours in Iraq and Afhgan. The regiment's going out again to afghanistan next march/april! You also do cerimonial duty, ie standing for hours outside the palaces sweating/freezing your balls off bored shitless and ENDLESS hours of drill!

  • @grenadier185 that wouldnt of mattered about 150 years ago instruments were instruments and all were used for the same purpose

  • re pipers

    hi 14

had to laf at ur email it must be wee thing cause im only 5ft by the way try the scottish folk duo the corries on youtube some good battle songs ans ballads inc rabbie burns ae fond kiss ,a mans a man

  • I come from Scottish stock on my mother's side. Her name was McPhee. My ancestors lived on Colonsay Island.

Every time I hear the pipes playing I feel like I could destroy every terrorist in the world.

They also make my Scottish blood fill me with pride.

  • Your not scottish. Your American. FACE IT.

  • You misspelled "your".

It should be "you're", as in "you are".

  • So fucking what??

  • The use of a profanity is indicative of a poor education.

And you only need to use one question mark.

  • Ooh-eeh, a grammer Nazi.

  • Plus, you're trying to make me look like an idiot by pointing out all my spelling mistakes, when you say you can kill every terrorist in the land. Thats a very American statement, no-one in Scotland would say that. Being incredibly naive is more stupid than making a few grammaticle errors.

  • I never said I wasn't an American.

  • No, but you made lots of claims about being Scottish descended, when you're only just. I have some Irish descent and I never talk about that. But I think I'm getting too worked up about it. Still, a word of warning from the future - Don't use speeling corrections in arguments. It won't get you anywhere.

  • I wasn't having an argument with you. YOU were having one with ME for some odd reason.

By the way; it's SPELLING, not SPEELING.

I will now take my leave of you. You are not worth talking to.

  • Comment removed

  • Look, to cut this short, I'm sick of all the American tourists coming to Scotland and going on about their distant heritage. You probably are of Scottish descent, and i'm sorry I denied that. But I wasn't exactly arguing with you, I was just saying that correcting peoples spelling isn't a good way of trying to get something across.

  • Makes feel liekyou could take on a thousand o the enemy.Great stuff!

  • Ive lost the details but a bagpiper played on Dday 6th june 1944 amongst the invasion

  • If I remember right he was with Lord Lovett and his commandos at D-Day

  • as a scotsman living in the far north it makes the hais on the back of my neck rise and a feeling of pride im not sure if this is drummed into us from generation to generation i only it does it to me and i live here

  • @hagridhorse: I'm not a scot and I still get the same feeling while listening to this. It surely isn't drummed into you, it's just the power of the pipes and drums and you have every right to be proud of this kind of heritage!

  • I'm an American of Scottish heritage and this music affects me the same way. When I hear the pipers I want to go kick some ass, and I'm only a 5'4" woman!!

  • There's nothing like a good tune on the 'pipes.

  • can anyone tell me if there is another version of this on youtube with just bagpipes or lone bagpiper please?

  • aye!!Great music
