  • We never really had much luck with our 2007 Ariens 824... Went through two transmissions, a axle, two carbs, two chute gears, lots of bolts rattled loose and off, a few belts, and it would move on its own before we sold it. Was looking at a Honda, but they're over $3k, so we got another cheap Ariens. The Briggs motor is quite a bit smoother and quieter than the Tecumseh, but sounds a little odd under high loads, and still backfires when slowly reducing speed to idle. They're cheap, and it shows

  • @ericspda Sorry to hear about your bad luck with your machine - Our machine runs great and kills any snow that mother nature and the local city snowplow has handed us. My question though is if you had back luck with your first snowblower why would you buy another one of the same manufacturer ????

  • @Coronakid67 The new models are quite a bit different than the one we owned, and looks to be improved. There really isn't much of a choice in the 1k range for snowblowers... The Ariens was the best specs for the price. They're all cheap built slabs of steel with crude engines. And 1/2 of the repairs from the old one were covered under warranty. They had a guy come pick it up, and drop it back off when its done. Nobody else would offer that for us. The old one ALWAYS did start first pull...

  • Nice! It is always rough when started. so just slowly reduce the choke to off after starting

  • good luck with yours, i just bought the new 2010 pro 28 with a 15.5 hps 305cc engine. cant wait to use it. runs awesome, very strong sounding engine. Ariens is a very well built machine.

  • i like the deluxe & the platinum better than the proffesional if u notice on the auger gear box there's no support bracket on the proffesional id feel better with that support bracket there's a lot of torque right there & the others are a lot cheaper im getting a 30 platinum myself 342 cc's, traction control, heated hand grips, cant wait there saying its gonna be a bad winter this year

  • @SuperGozzy

Hey man, once you get her make a vid !!! Congrats on your purchase !!!!

  • @SuperGozzy

Ariens uses the cast iron gear case on their PRO models (best models) and it is stronger and more relaible then the aluminum cased models. Because the aluminum is weaker, it requires the extra bracing whereas the cast iron doesn't. Don't you think Ariens engineering knows what they are doing? I have confidence that the cast iron gearbox is much better. I myself will be buying a 32PRO just as soon as they become available from the source I plan to buy from this summer (2011).

  • @goBUHuskies tell u what if mine ever breaks ill order a cast one and ill use braces on it to. i was going through 4 feet of snow this year didnt have a problem i put my own heated hand grip on it for 30 bucks

  • @SuperGozzy New for 2011 season, Ariens has switched over to a new "top fill" design cast iron gearbox on all their machines now, backing the gearbox with a 5 year warranty. I guess cast iron just proved to be so much better and durable. I bought a leftover 2010 machine this summer, brand new PRO 32 which has the 342cc motor, 32 wide cut x 23.5 high housing, 16" auger and 14" impeller with the larger 16 x 6.5 wheels. It's also got automatic traction control and heated grips too.

  • that wasent ruff at all it just sounds like that when u have the choke on.

  • no electric start . lol thats crap

  • I should be LOL'ing you - as you don't know your stuff man. DLE = deluxe and if you watch my first video and 38 seconds in you will see a little red button and at 2:14 of this video you will see the same red button - can u guess what thats for...hmmmm ELECTRIC START - now your educated

    Cheers !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Red start button on the top. I wonder how many screws have come off of that assembly? It shakes horribly.

  • @k323r Good thing you can't see the whole electric start module on top, including the plug(aka shiny prong-like things that may fit into a plug) AND the special red button that takes electricity and uses it to start the engine....idiot

  • the exhaust emits carbon monoxide dont run in indoors or u kill ur family

  • I think i may get those poly shoes as metal ones make rust marks in garage and scratch driveway...wish Ariens would push briggs engines. I have the 927le its a beast.

  • hey corona love the videos i also bought the 924dle this fall couldnt wait to use. i live in weymouth ma. loving the snowfall we have gotten this winter so far. i also purchased the poly shoes i love em,i got one question where did you buy the chem-stick plus i cant find it anywhere let me know if you can. i am currently waiting on my free hat to arrive

  • This is great! I just bought a 927DLE. It's awesome and is sitting right beside my 5500 watt gas generator that has been powering my house for the past week here in Ashby Ma.

Snow and Ice ...bring her on Mother Nature!

  • Welcome to the Ariens club...Team Orange I like to say...hahaha !!!

927DLE nice machine and a great investment for sure. When did you purchase your orange baby? Have you registered for your "free Ariens winter cap"?

We are just getting over our last storm here in Southern Ontario. U gonna post a vid of that baby in action. I was blowing snow with my machine at least 40 feet with the chute pointing almost 90 degrees...it was a blast. Waiting for the plow for EOD-end of driveway

    Cheers

  • Just got a 9hp (long story) Toro 826LE...same thing here...just want it to snow....

  • Haggis, where abouts are you located? Are you going to put a vid on here with your new machine?

    Cheers

  • Edmonton Alberta.

    I will post a vid when I get a chance.....just need some snow!!!! :o)

  • HAHAHA....this is almost like starting a Cessna 172....for you pilots out there you know what I mean....

I usually have to crank a hair longer though :D

  • Did you get any discounts on it?

Put a little wax on it and you can see your reflection and it'll be slick.

    I like those Poly Skids.

  • I didn't get any discounts on the machine as the demand for blowers are so high...it is so hard to find one these days with the winter we had last year. I have waxed the machine and sprayed Chem-Slick-Plus on the auger system to prevent rust and keep things nice and smooth down there. The poly shoes were also extra but I thought I'd get them so my drive way and garage would not get damaged with scratches.

  • Where might I be able to find some of the Chem-Slick-Plus?

  • that's a very nice snowblower and a special addition for the 75th aniversiry of Ariens you should baby that thing it's ganna be worth a lot as it gets older, and you should never start it up cold at full throtle only half throtle

  • Hey, thanks for the advice on start up. When would you use full throttle?? Going in deep snowbanks??? Let me know and thanks again for the reply.

    Cheers

  • after it ran for about 2-3 min you can rev it up and start blowing snow

  • thanks for the video. I just bought this same model today, and I can't wait for the first big snow.
