  • This is so amasing.. It Is So much more amasing to have It alive like this..

  • The girl that plays Pocahontas has such a beautiful voice! What I would give to sing like her x(

  • it's kinda funny that i know the words to "steady as the beating drum" and singing along! :D thank goodness I'm a native from South America from my dad's side (from his mother). :D

  • if anybody could tell where was this? i love this though. :)

  • @charmedluver22 she is a princess

  • wow disneyland it seems like disneyland has alot more shows than disneyworld

  • @mayjivinjane I totally agree!! Ever since I was probably six years old, around the time the movie came out, I wanted to BE Pocahontas, no joke!! At my school, there was a set of bleachers on the football field (probably only about four rows high) and my best friend and I used to pretend to be Pocahontas and Nakoma and we'd "dive" off the bleachers. And sometimes, if we were really lucky, we could rope one of our guy friends into being John Smith. Ahhh, those were the days!! ;-)

  • OMG this looks AMAZING! Alan menkens music is FAB! but the guy playing the cheif is crap!

  • Eden's voice gives me chills...hands down, she's my Broadway idol. ^_^

  • Comment removed

  • This is Christine LaFond not Eden.

  • so I've heard. Twice already. Thanks though.

  • i saw this when i was a little kid! we saw it the first time i went to disney when i was 2. we have it on a home movie.

  • OMG she sings like a dream o: i have been in disney land paris when i was 10, and see tarzan... i live in denmark... i wish i would have seen this one

  • OMFG! I remember seeing this when it was at Disneyland! I was all into it with my cousin XD we were practically freakin out when John Smith was about to die XD

  • huh? MANY other people and companies "rewrite" history. Not just to "make fun of".

  • OMG

I saw this when i was like 5 aww

    Thax 4 putting uppp!!

  • This show was a classic. The Fantasyland Theater is in a sad state these days. There's nothing going on there. I wish they'd put a show of this quality back in.

I know they had the Snow White musical most recently, but that was lame. The Spirit of Pocahontas was a show done in true Disney style.

  • That's not Eden... Pocahontas is played by Christine here.

  • My sister's name is Eden and she was Pocahontas for halloween when she was little. She is now fourteen but sorry I thought that was creepy that the actress had the same name. 0.o

  • I remember this show! I saw it when I was 5; when I was 5, I LOVED Pocahontas, it was my favorite... I had all the merchandise and everything. :)

  • what replaced this?

  • Is this Pocahontas Eden Espenoza?

  • yes, i believe it is

  • Oh wow...I remember this!! I was 12 when I saw this...the memories are just flowing in!!! Thanks for this!!!!

  • I remember watching this, I was so young, I Still remember it clearly.. Memories <3

  • Pocahontas, Mulan, and Ariel are my favorite Disney Princesses because the follow their dreams and do not let anyone tell them "No."

  • Technically Mulan isn't a princess because she's not born or marries into royalty :)

  • steady as the beating drum :)

  • thanks, i totally miss this

  • I saw Eden in WICKED it was awesome

  • I am sooooo jealous of you!!!! I saw SJB tho and she was amazing!

  • This Pocahontas is actually named Christine. Eden played Pocahontas in the production that followed this one, Animazement. :)

  • THANKS. Do know what "Christine" has been up to before and since this performance?

  • La DanielDaniel...I thought her Name was Rebecca

  • The real name of Pocahontas was Matoaka. She was called "Pocahontas" as a nickname, and it means bad child. John Rolfe decided to marry her, so she turned cristian and was called Rebecca Rolfe.

  • Actually it means little wanton child in in the Powhatan language, referring to her frolicsome nature.

  • I thought in the Powhatan language it meant "little mischief"

  • Pocahontas means 'Little Mischeif' or 'Wild One' I should know since shes one of my distant ancestors

  • I find this clip to be weird. I am native myself, and find that hollywood is romantizing the dying indian...the "imaginary indian"...I find the movie to be racist even though, Disney is trying to portray natives in a good way. I really dislike the song "Saveages"...

  • I know what you mean. They romanticize the real story and yet with good intentions. I still love Disney though, even if this isn't an accurate portrayal of Pocahontas.

  • I wish I could've seen this. What shows playing right now?

  • I miss this show

  • is she the also the singing voice in the film?

  • no, this is eden espinoza

  • I remember this!! :D

I would collect the leaves when they fell x3

  • how so?

  • I saw this when I was 10!

  • They have captured the spirit of a such wonderful movie

  • :O:O:O:O

    Omgggg!!!

    I went to see this!!!!

I was really little like, and hardly remember it haha, but we have pictures and I loved it!

    xD xD

    was fantastic!

  • I remember this show! I loved when the leaves came out. I wish I had saved some! :)

  • Wondeful prformance, I wish I'd been there.

  • "but he is so serius"

  • i loved!! wish i had been there!!! also the little girl in front of u was cute while she was dancing to the whole thing :D

  • This was a very good show and it's still missed by me!

I wish Miko and all other characters were walk around besides just Pocahontas.

  • This is not Eden.......

  • so not her

  • pocahontas is sooo yellow...lol

    damn lights!

    hehe

  • Yeah. It doesn't help that this was recorded in the evening and on VHS :p

  • I wish they'd make a Broadway musical out of Pocahontas-- she was my favorite princess by far. I think it sucks that she's never included in Disney's princess collection. I guess being a Powhatan princess doesn't count as far as Disney's concerned! X(

  • yeah i know she so much awesomer than the other ones all sleeping beauty does is sleep cinderella is codependant and psycho about cleaning

    snow white just bugs me

and belle she eh but she dates animals so thts weird and i think illegal and she tlks to objects u drink out of

lol i could write a tell all book about all the princessess lol

  • @maryjivinjane I do too! Pocahontas is my most favorite princess. I think Disney is starting to forget their Native American Princess because to me she is very important.

  • @maryjivinjane and Mulan is a princess which I never got so I don't include her.

  • @maryjivinjane unfortunatley I think they don't promote Pochontas because of what the movie is actually about. Which is the whites pillaging the villages, raping the women, scalping the men, etc. :( It's stupid since Pochontas was my favorite (so is Mulan) princess and the movie was amazing <3

  • @maryjivinjane you're right she is only on the disneyprincesss website and nothing in the princess collection else and she was featured in disney on ice once but the good part is she is featured in the word of color at disneyland and fanstamic at disneyworld

  • This is so good! But what besides greatness do you expect with Disneyland/world?

  • ah memories

  • omg, i seen that same show at Disneyland in '95 too!! i remember leaves flying everywhere at the end, i can't wait to go back!

  • Ha! I went to this show during the summer of '95! Good memories! But I was at Disney World, not Disneyland.

  • is she the same girl who played the voice of Pocahontas? she saound like her..

  • Do you mean Irene Bedard? I don't think so

  • holy crap. I totally remember seeing this last time I went to Disneyland. I was FIVE!!!

    flashbacks like woah. XD

  • I remember this, now I miss it :( My sister was dancing the whole time, trying to do the moves in the video.

  • i remember watching this show at the time i had no idea this was eden till a lil while ago thanxs for posting :)

  • I have to thank you for posting this. For us Poca fans this is a very important historical document.

  • I like to think of this as a historical document as well. THANKS :)

  • YAY Eden! It's Disney! This amazing beacuse of those two reasons!

  • I remember seeing this when I was younger and my family went to disneyland. Ah, good memories. ^.^ thanks for posting this!

  • About the time Festival of Fools closed, Eden had transitioned to Animazement. When Disney's California Adventure opened, Eden was one of the principals in Steps in Time. After that show closed, she was part of the a capella group Route 66, performing in DCA.

I believe she also was Poison Ivy at Universal Studios Hollywood in the Batman show but I could be wrong.

  • I think she played "Fairy Godmother" in "Steps in Time". I saw the show a couple times, but it didn't occur to me as a high school freshman to video record it. I don't recall USH having a Batman show... DC Comics usually has their characters at Six Flags or some other Warner Brothers property. Universal has Marvel at their parks. I think it was either Eden or Stephanie J. Block someone mentioned she worked at USH in the Beetlejuice show.

  • The actress is Christine Marquez, a friend of Eden's. Eden used to perform in restaurants and put on shows with Christine's brothers Jonathan and Jason.

Eden started working at Disneyland toward teh end of the Spirit of Pocahontos. She appeared in the chorus for Hunchback of Notre Dame Festival of Fools.

  • Ah, thanks.

  • Omg!!! I saw this show on it's opening day and like almost everyday after day after that! I was sooooo sad when the show ended! Yeah, I'm a Dinney geek.

  • oooh this looks like so much fun!

i wanna be in a musical at Disney Land! I wonder how you get a part...

  • Is this what Eden did instead of college, or during?

  • scary fire.

  • Wow, this whole show is really cool! I especially like the opening sequence. Thanks for posting!

  • I had commeneted that The Hunchback musical at DL was the Best Show Produced, (Festival Of Fools) and I stand by that. But this was definately the Second best show they've had. Aladin at DCA still cant compare to these two.

  • I also really liked Festival of Fools. They need to reuse that theater, not just for private events.

  • Totally agree. That was one of the best shows. What a waste of space in that area.

  • this brings back good memories. i remember watching both at dland... it'd be nice to see them again

  • Is the girl actually singing?

    So is this disney land?

  • Yes, she's supposed to be actually singing. Yes, this is Disneyland in California.

  • It looks amazing, I went to the one in paris and it was crap - few rides and I only saw a couple of characters

  • It actually looks like great fun

  • they used the walt disney music at the beginning. when they put that stuff in the fire.

  • It doesn't sound like Eden... I'm pretty sure it's not her...

But I think whoever it is has a very pretty voice. I hope she has done more professionally.

And I like this one better than the Aladin Show. The choreorgaphy and staging is great!

  • The guy can't sing.

  • lol yeah I noticed that.

  • I know a bunch of folks who have VERY fond memories of this show.

  • This was like 10 years before Eden was in Wicked.

  • I worked as an entertainer for 15 years at Disneyland, and I was dating one of the girls in the show.

  • The girl playing Pocohontas is not Eden. Her name is Christine

  • That is not Eden. The girl onstage playing is named Christine.

  • Can you get this confirmed? I'm not calling you out. I didn't even know who Eden was before posting this up. Other comments claimed it was her.

  • The only confirmation I can give you is that I worked as an entertainer for 15 years at Disneyland 4 of them were at Tokyo Disneyland. I knew every person in that show. The girl who played the "wind" was my girlfriend. The girl who played pocohontas was Christine.

  • Okay. Thanks for the info! Do you still work for Disney?

  • omg i saw this when i was like 5 or 6! i was opsessed with this show! who would have known that shes be one of my heroes now! thats so freakin cool. i think i have a pictue with her somehwere.............

  • I think they should have a store next to the Fantasyland Theater selling DVDs of past show productions. But I don't know for sure if they professionaly recorded shows for the archives...

  • I love Eden Espinosa in Wicked now... and the funny thing is that I saw this show with her in it and I didn't realize it was her =( if I had only known... oops...

  • Is this Eden? I need to know!

  • yes

  • hmmm now this does sound more like her :P

  • brillint!!! loved!

  • Is this really the Pocahontas actress singing live? She's very very very close to the recording. If she is, I would really be amazed to see this live. But it just seems too good...like a recording... anyone verify that she's singing this live?

  • its eden espinosa

  • I actually saw the iceshow of this one, in Oslo, in Norway, in what is called disneyworld on ice =)

  • wow...powhaten (sp?) sucks...BIG time. hes the most boring actor.

  • I think one person who actually knew the cast said this actor was the understudy. There was an older and better actor that played the chief.

  • "It would make our hearts soar."

    "SOAR."

OMG xD That was the best.

  • LOL! I was wondering if I was the only one that caught that. Hilarious!

Oh, and yes I saw the show ages ago. Yes, it was good. No, this is NOT Eden. She was Pocahontas but in Animazement (another good show). My fav is Beauty and the Beast and LEAST fav is Snow White, damn shame cuz she's my fav princess.

  • WOW....nice performance. I really love it.

  • Wow Eden is spectacular in this! I wish I could've seen this. I know I was at Disneyland around this time, because I remember the Hunchback festival in the outdoor plaza.

  • I was about 4 or 5 when I remember seeing this at the fantasyland theater, and I think it was about the same time as when the Hunchback of Notre dame's Festival of Fools was playing. That was an awesome show.

  • Im almost positive that this is NOT eden...which is sad cause i really love how she sang this song

  • yea im skeptical that this is eden also...edens voice is so distinct and i feel like this one isnt it-close maybe? i dont know

  • idk, i really think its her. im not sure what year this is from, she may just sound younger. it sounds like her when shes speaking i almost sure that this is her.

  • Neat.

  • That definitely sounds like Eden singing. There's a video of here in Animazement here on YouTube, and they both sound REALLY similar.

  • This is Eden Espinosa (pocahontas) who is on Broadway as Elphaba in WICKED!

  • I was kinda wondering if this was Eden. So she played Pocahontas from 1995-2001 (Animazement) then I think she performed in DCA and then WICKED?? That's cool :D.

  • Correct except she performed in Brooklyn on Bway as well in '04, she also went to Disneyworld and performed as well! She is amazing!

  • I also heard that Stephanie Block played Belle in Disneyland's Beauty and the Beast. She also played Elphaba in Wicked too. If that's all correct, very cool!

  • omg! really? this is the reason why when my brother and i were at disneyworld, we watched the performers VERY carefully.

  • it's so funny eden AND maria (tour understudy) bothplayed pocahantas before. lol.

  • Maria? Interesting how all these pre-WICKED Disney CM went into WICKED. I Stephen Schwartz was also involved with Disney and WICKED.

  • They also aired this on tv once. I also watched it. I was just now getting out of the bath tub. I remember I was about 7, and me, my sisters, and My mom watched it!
