  • how do you expect to actually land good hits if you constantly practise in a distance, where even a fully stretched out arm doesn't come near your opponent's face?

  • I train in various systems, JKD primarily... I enjoy chi sao drills to work on trapping skillz and get that muscle memory flowing!. good video!

  • I finally know where all the strike noises from the old kung fu movies come from. The mic...makes sense now.

  • AMERICAN DUMB ASS... !

  • yip man never trained bruce lee he was a old man when bruce joined his wing chun gym.if u watch young bruce lee u will see yip man was just the boss...

  • haha the terrible mics create old school sound effects, it's awesome

    but great demo guys thanks

  • All turning , reaching, wristing, no force transfer...

  • @wslnyc armchair quaterback, troll, mr. know it all.....

  • You could have hit him so many times if you just took that one step forward...

  • This video is true awesomeness! Keep up the good training!

  • @danhmedina2187 thanks

  • jesus, 5 years later and this vid is still getting heckled and its ass kissed wow.

  • @opticannon statistically speaking that just means level of stupid has stayed constant... thumbs up

  • @hgamer I love your response!

  • @opticannon Actually yip man, or ip man as we call him, trained Bruce Lee, and was faster than him.

  • @CryWolf1986 was this directed at me?

  • @opticannon Um yea...

  • @CryWolf1986 i dont know what this is about.

  • what would you say is the most difficult thing for a new student to learn?

  • @Shuukyou student's controlling their egos

  • @hgamer Yeahh, man!!!! You can be sure about this!!!!

  • @hgamer haha ok i wasnt expecting that. Like technique wise or something like that

  • Bad mic placement, excellent video ! :)

  • My Opinion: This not a good chisao demonstration, because, there is no flow...too many breaks...the secret is flow

  • wing chun is for ladies just like the founder who was a lady, simply feel the arms and keep blockin ,in a real combat it would mean fake as shit, lmfao .,..

  • it definatly in no way could be coreographed what so ever you know

  • @tazer74 It is not.But it is too slow.so it is easier to look good.It is like they count..1-2-1-2..There is no real flow, but this is a demo so it is natural.Real chi sao finishes in 1 second...

  • Sticky hands frustrates the hell out of people that try to hit you, just block and smile.

  • the bad audio kind of makes it sound more kickass lol

  • Hi hgamer..i love wing chun and your videos...someone introduced IP Man to me about about a week ago at the vid store and i rented it, and fell in love with WC.

I just saw the movie Game of Death with Wesley Snipes and was wondering if he used WC in the movie??

  • @broccolihart1 i didn't see all of it, but considering its snipes, i'd beat easily on no....

  • @broccolihart1 Actually, yes. There is one part in that movie where he chain punches a guy after he knocked him down. It was very brief, but it was definitely wc influenced punching.

  • cool. they make it sound like these very old karate movies where every movement is noisy as hell.

  • looks like the lil games my lil sisters used to play!

  • @gerard62001 it looks like two people fingering each other??? Wow where do you see that

  • LOL I love how your lav mics are on to make those "whooshing" sounds like a kung fu flick!

  • ahahah...ma che è sta merda...si spolverano a vicenda...

  • This is amazing.... Props to you guys. Can you still do chi sao when the opponent is adding in a few kicks or does that just make it harder?

  • @Isaacconquest yes, there is chi sao with kicks as well

  • @hgamer Can you post a vid of it?

  • @hgamer Chi Gerk right?

  • @ninjae4976 that's strictly just feet if you want to practice sticky legs

  • hehe, yeah, Chi Sao-Chi Gerk and the there is Chi San-Chi Sai.... just like my girldfriend....

  • Haha, sounds like a truck transforming.

  • Lap Sap

  • oooooh this is really good chi sau

  • best defense in close combat, no doubt, try using it in street fights obviously u got to be experience in it unless u to it for funn like we do. try it at home if u 18 + careful though, it hurts no body is made out of stone shit can happen

  • This is good practice!

  • WHAT IS THIS? CHINESE PATTY-CAKE?

  • @therealneon what are you? american dumb ass?

  • @hgamer Naw I'm actually Asian ;D haha!

  • @therealneon dumb ass asian

  • @hgamer Wow, don't be a hypocrite Patty Cake Asian ;)

  • @hgamer What does him being american have to do with his ignorant statement?

  • @hgamer dood i bet you american they are the defenition of dumass and how i know this im american im white too i know dumass and that americans

  • @therealneon Yeah i play it with your moms pussy all of the time.

  • @EdgarDesertEagle50AE WOW! like that comeback has never been used before -_- lame.

  • @therealneon wing chun?

  • @therealneon you just got served

  • youtube.com/my_videos?feature=mhum

  • The sound effects from the strikes sound like from a traditional kung fu movie.

  • it's a great effect regardless. it felt like i was watching a Bruce Lee movie!

  • i like how the mic makes cool fighting sound effects

  • @TJhandford524 its cool you figured out that's actual sound the mic picked up... half the dopes thought i had, the time and budget to actually put that crap sound in the video

  • W.T. helps you not so much to create faster reflects, but through touch not to think and just react.I can't think a way to help a boxer if his hands don't search the center line and feel the attack. The best thing to do is train with a w.t. expert so you can anderstand the diference.

  • guys, u are grabing your opponents arm all the time... if you want pure chi sao.. just fluid like water, dont grab, just fluid and let your opponent's arm go other way then use that "change" to attack (then, the opponent should defend that attack)

if you grab his arm, you break "the rithm" then there are not situation changing, just strenght Vs. strenght... and its not wing chun..

By the way, nice video and skill, i only have seen the grab like bad thing.

    Nice.

  • @KRATCMP its difficult to tell from the video, but i'm not grabbing at any point in the video

  • @hgamer just between seconds 0:02 - 0:06 there are like 2 or 3 "little grabs" i know you dont make a strong grab but i just thought it should be with more rotation (like seconds 0:13 and more), not strenght vs strenght in some points, but well, maybe i say that because i dont see it well in the video

but anyways you make a very good chi sao, and wing chun movements.

    Nice video really :-)

  • I'm looking into using chi sao to develop "body feel" for my boxing. Would such a drill be recommended ? Using your opponents energy against themselves seems as though it would be applicable to any martial art. I'm not saying that I would use these techniques in my boxing , but I would like to sharpen that awareness of your man's energy and where it's being directed.

  • no just being realistic this is not how a fight goes down. a fight usually tend to end on the ground where ull need grappling technique's. or people will make big hay makers and swing wildy. but i respect this as a art form and im sure it has sum use in real combat but only this will not make u very allrounded.

  • 2 bad this doenst work in real fights

  • @Genki666Sudo it sound like you want to rape this style for your stupid need to hurt someone sensless

  • so the fx in the asian movies are real??? O.o XD

  • i heard fong teaches a more mild version of wing chun beacuse he acctually killed some1

  • This looks fun

  • THis looks mad awesome. im currently learning Wing Chun

  • looks like there giving each other forearm massages..............lmfao

  • I love watching Wing Chun in slow motion !

  • awesome defending and deflecting :D

though some action in real punching range and a bit attacking would be nice (:

  • @BiFi47 What do you expect? This is chi sao. They are only demonstrating this, this is no fight scene.

  • @FearThisChannel

some attacks by the higher one (:, as i said he is only defending

some simple and weak but precise attacks

  • hackers

  • The early Kung Fu Films back in the 70 and 80s

had an strong influence into our nowdays MartialArts Taste !

Or is there an other Reason why i am atracted to this style

allthough i just practiced just TKD ? :)

  • Chop my son. Spend hours and hours of you life each day learning to chop hard and strong like brave bull. You, my son, have learned the secret of the wize and bewhiskered masters of old. You have the power now, you can do amazing things and the world will gasp in awe at your cat-like prowess in mortal combat. Beware of the mighty finger in your eye, it will spoil your bravery. You will double over in pain, screaming like a child while the untrained fool cackles at your Chi flow Yang.

  • vary cool hgamer, and theres a red squigaly line that says i spelt hgamer wrong but i dont give a shit because your too cool, anyway, i really want to learn some wing chun, i might start next year, is 16 too late or what?, i mean i did some boxing and i can throw a mean right kick(then again so does all of the amature kick boxers in the world) but yeah, thanks for the upload, good stuff!

  • @KingWilli12495 as long as you want to learn, no age is to early or late...

  • @KingWilli12495 Why next year? Start today.

  • @KingWilli12495 Some *****DO have mean left kicks... You must fight because you lack intelligence. Go to school and pay attention in English class, than concentrate on fighting. I hate mentally challenged oafs who think they can fight... Wing Chung is for a more sophisticated fighter and is aimed towards self defense. Wing Chung and boxing are opposite concepts. However if you truly want to learn it go ahead, perhaps your Sifu will educate you a little.

  • @chardy13 please, don't think me a retarded shit hook, I'm actually pretty smart and I'm not saying I'm Harvard college student material but my Score card consisted mainly of A- and B+s

,mainly because my pre-AP geometry teacher was a MILF and i could not concentrate on the course that much, so just because i may have been a little lethargic when i posted the comment, don't hold on to it and beat me with okay, and a little tip: i helps not to respond to key-moments of stupidity and *ignorance*,

  • @chardy13 thanks for the heads up, thats why i want to take wing chun, so i dont always have to be the guy who square's up and starts the fight i would rather block and diffuse, and enough making fun of people via internet, it only shows your character and honor, and btw, what did you mean by *****DO have mean left kicks? and oafs? come on man, use a harsher word if your going to commit to insulting someone, and it helps with your blood pressure not to look for key moments of ignorance.

  • @KingWilli12495 "i can throw a mean right kick(then again so does all of the amature kick boxers in the world)" not every one kicks with just their right leg.

the point was there is mean left kicks as well ...really shows your lack of intelligence right there

  • @chardy13 alright i see what you mean. and i could care less about left kicks, i cant use it and they rarely taught me that kickboxing, and i didnt say everybody kicks with there right, read it again, im just saying that most kickboxers THINK they can throw a mean right kick too, and if it keeps you off my balls, they THINK they can throw a mean left kick too.

  • ¡¡¡ASOMBROSO...!!! Mis respetos para estos señores.

    Me gustaría aprender algo así.

  • I have a question regarding Wing Chun (or Wing Tsun); how effective is defending against attacks from average people on the street (thugs, chavs, holligans) who have no particar style they just lash out wildly and without pattern -- can wind chun defend against these types of attacks?

  • @xiandrii uhhh yes. to some extent. unless you have the most amazing ability to read body language or just automatically know what your opponent is gonna do, you really should try to avoid this scenario in most cases, you know. But with most cases of wht you describe, it is more than likely someone with a wild, aggresive personality will attack you without notice. wing chun can help you with counter-firing an attack even if you were hit by the first 2 or 3 strikes a book on wing chun may help :)

  • @xiandrii No "style" will guarantee you 100% success against the lack of pattern of a chaotic attack., there´s always room for the unexpected variables (the number of attackers, the surprise attack factor, all the non-sportive factors in a real fight). Ving Tsun in particular is a system that does take into consideration the fact that real fighting IS chaos, and besides throwing cool punches, the sensibility drills somehow try to "put order to chaos" in order to be in control of the situation.

  • So, I think it´s valid to say that VTsun is a system that can be usefull in the street, because it is not meant to be "pretty looking", as you may regad watching youtube videos, but to FEEL hard when you go against it, in the same way a stream of water can be felt as very strong when you are swimming against it, but said force can´t be "seen" if you are not in the water and you are judging its power watching it from the shore. "Be like water" said IpMan, a phrase quoted from him by BruceLee

  • @xiandrii jajajaja very good question.yes,it is very difficult and requires much study and practice, but when you understand the wing chun in your head and it can flow freely through your body, you can defend against any type of aggression and aggressor. if your wing chun is hard and your mind too, you will get hurt

  • @xiandrii Yes. We often learn specific techniques to deal with what we expect an "average" person might throw at us.

  • @xiandrii

    yup

Wing Chun relies alot on punches (but they have kicks, knee's, and elbows too). Wing chun also relies on close-quaters fighting (compared to Karate where the movements suit a more long-distance fight). Most street fights in realistic situations take place at close-range/face-to-face. Wing Chun is also a very explosive and fast martial art. Relying on very fast speed to create explosive power

  • @xiandrii he still didnt answer ur question so i guess he cant know

little advice to you instead martial arts start some sprint running trainning

this will be more useful ...lmao

  • @xiandrii wing chun is at his best against this type of attack, the opponent doesnt know how to fight, and you do.but you need to stay calm at all time

  • @xiandrii Wing Chun (as far as I know) can be effective in those situations.

We (I'm kind of a starter, going on first exam next month) learn most of the stuff against both "box punches" (which rather represents untaught fighters' punches) and wing chun punches.

But also, if you are learning for example, Wing Chun, you will be used to take some pain.

Also: No matter what style you're doing, if you want to face someone with a knife, you are risking getting injured, so you should rather run.

    -GH

  • @xiandrii It is. But it depends more on you. It is more a question of your own strength and application rather than a question of art. Wing Chun, Karate, Judo, it doesn't matter; it depends on how well you fight.

Besides, attackers a weaker than defenders. Why? Because they're out of balance. Especially hooligans who just "lash out wildly", as you said, are weak. They do not have a goal. They are not thinking about where it is best to hit you. They only want to beat you up.

  • @xiandrii is most likely to be more effective

  • @xiandrii I think half the battle of using any form of fighting on the street,is knowing whats going on around you and reading situations.Wing chun was made for dealing with people like this, thugs etc..No matter how they attack you,if you are confident of your training-positioning of your arms(gates),balance, reaction etc you can deflect it or deal with accordingly. At the end of the day though,if someone comes up behind you or pulls a gun etc.Its LUCK! Then the Q? is-should you have been there?!

  • @xiandrii it can, and very effectively, because it relies greatly on quick reaction and fast execution of connected movements. chi sao in this video is just a method of training your tactile reflexes, that is to say, reacting to what you feel rather than to what you see. wing tzun in practice (street defense) is different. Check out EBMAS Wing Tzun, they are very focused on the self-defense, that may be what you're looking for.

  • @xiandrii watch this video.. It's pretty real, yip man, eh "Ip Man Vs Twister - End Fight ( Cantonese )"

  • @xiandrii

It can be very effective. What is demonstarted here is a drill to develop coordination and hand speed. After developing the nuero pathways through the use of this drill it can be very effective in close quarter combat.

  • @xiandrii

I think WC became the Basic of Bruce Lee's Jeet Kun Do? WC is capable of Intercept or block incoming attack or attacks.

  • @xiandrii Very, people that want to "Lash Out" are typically very balanced. Whereas a person learning wing chun would be calm focused and balanced and easily capable of catching the brute offguard.

  • @xiandrii In fact , wing chun has been made for street fighting more than tournaments, when you practice wing chun, you think only about moving forward and knock your opponent out... of course you learn also not to get into unnecessary trouble.. but if needed no matter if they're skilled or not, you just knock them out. When you need to stop a fan, do you care about stopping its blades? no, you just turn it off ;D

  • @xiandrii its easier its lik body is moving without u thinking an is moving just out of reflex

  • @xiandrii Have in mind that your first move should be a kick. That saves u against a running mad.On the other hand those people get in group, are stoned and armed.!!!So runnnnnnnnnnn

  • @xiandrii I have a friend that used to be one of them.He was all the time stoned. He got hit many times but few anderstand something!!!A stoned man is like u hit a zombie.Take the hit and keep coming.

  • @xiandrii I have a friend that weights about 85 kilos and got bitten by seven...12years old kids in england!!May sound ridiculus but truth. He managed to knock out 2 of them but then...

  • The wrist "fok sau" can be followed up by "uarn sau" (circle hand) and fight back instantly. I know it's hard, but try to correct this habit of your "fok sau"

  • @sai18kit But credits to where credit is due, you videos actually helped me grow a lot. As you filmed this video, I didn't even know wing chun, so... I guess it's not fair for me to "criticize" your move. I actually learned a lot from your sifu too. He is part of the reasons why i suddenly experienced a big jump in my skill. My sifu is Yip Chun, he is like a textbook, every move is precise and clear. He definitely taught me well too by being an example.

  • Hey is the left guy you? hgamer? I notice that your "fok sau" utilize your lower palm instead of the wrist, the weakness of that is you can only block once with that, but if the opponent use combo attacks this "fok sau" will crumble.

People use this kind of "fok sau" because it feels safe to them and the initial block works very well. My brother did it all the time even though I showed him how this "fok sau" fails to fight back. It's too defensive, but hard to fight back instantly.

  • @sai18kit many different areas and applications of fok sau..you don't only have to use wrist

  • tks for the upload...awesome!

  • IIII AM THE PATTY CAKE CHAAAAMPIONNNNNNN!!!!! Ghost Nappa!

  • good video

  • patty cake patty cake

  • @Retribution83 I wish I had a dollar for every mental midget who said this and thought they were original

  • @hgamer it's ok if you get sensitive about your performance but you can't honestly say this is fast?

  • @Retribution83 its amazing,at the start i was thinking "wow, this could get interesting,as soon as they stop doing it slow"...lol...wow. i will go so far as to say that i think doing these workouts are awesome for muscle memory and reflex training. but i really dont agree that they work in a live fire situation that well.against a nobody on the street, yes. against even a beginner mma, kickboxing, boxing, muay thai you will find it doesnt work as well.

  • @hgamer You really know your stuff nicely done; I know what it's like to have everyone tell you your art doesn't work, you don't know what you're doing etc. Just keep doing what you're doing.

  • @hgamer First time I've ever heard this and I LMFAO :-)

  • @ardnaxelanz so that means you know nothing

  • @hgamer Wrong - it means I have a sense of humour :-) But what do I know about Wing Chun? Wasn't it developed by a nun because all the real styles were too hard for her to master? As far as effectiveness goes I can only judge it by how well our local Wing Chun fighters do at the open martial arts tournaments. They get their ass handed to them on a plate by everyone including the Aikido guys. I draw my own conclusions to this outcome.

  • @ardnaxelanz You'd figure women's self defense would be more effective, not less. Women are smaller than men on average and have less muscle on average. So it seems, from that statement, that a martial art embraced/founded by a woman would be good for a technique over strength situation.

  • @Retribution83 It might seem like dancing to you, but if you just try it on a master, you will not be as elegant as they are.

  • did you guys add sound effects? or are you guys just that awesome? lol

  • @fengdage sound effects, i've got like a 5 dollar budget..... this is the actual sound that the microphone captured at the studio

  • Not bad.

  • I've heard that Wing Chun is a good art for bouncers and bodyguards to train, because it teaches you how to manipulate an opponent in close quarters.

  • @salabalabingbong negative, while you can do that, it wasn't designed to subdue opponents

  • @hgamer You are correct my friend. I've been a bouncer for 18 years and I use it more for aggressive frontal attacks, it goes very well with joint locks when applied correctly of course.

Great Vid, thank you for sharing

  • @budotenchi wow 18 years.... very cool.... you get to legally apply your stuff...hehehehe

  • @budotenchi The advantage of wing chun is you can actually leave the attackers unhurt if you are good. Other martial arts almost always have to damage their opponents, but for your job if you don't want to get into legal trouble you can use superior wing chun to simply block or shove the aggressors away. Should be easy I put my friend and brother on the floor all day long without hurting them. I still feel unbelievable. Once you get thru a certain stage it's suddenly come to you, it's magical.

  • @sai18kit That's pretty interesting. I've never before seen anyone write that using wing chun against an attacker can leave the attacker unharmed. I've done mostly Kali and Krav Maga, and have started reading books about Wing Chun and Aikido. Are there any texts/books you can recommend? I know you can't learn to fight from a book. I'd like to learn a little more about Wing Chun until I can find a good instructor.

  • @lifesfinallgoodagain You can leave the person unharmed if you are quick and very good. Intention is very important. Some particitionar can't help but HAS to hurt. It's intention and personality.

You use palms to grap the neck from behind and pull the person down, or you throw him to the floor like some of the videos show you.

The movie Yip Mun, is quite real. I tried to reenact some of the moves that he used to beat the 10 karate guys, and it's doable

  • @lifesfinallgoodagain You have to practice chi sau a lot, like in this video, but that doesn't guarantee you will make it. You have to follow a good master, and it's not enough, you also have to have a bunch of other maturer particitioners mentoring you, showing you the details. There are lot of details, in every single move. One move can seem simple if you master it, but the growing process can be long.

Plus, some practictioners will give u wrong info, due to their own confusion.

  • @lifesfinallgoodagain Basically you have to find a master who is like a textbook, who does not do his own style, but straightly follow the book. Ip Chun, Yip (Ip) Mun's son, is like that. He has a disciple who is also like him, I learned from them both a lot.

In this video: Mind Body & Kick Ass Moves Bruce Lee's Wing Chun Ip Chun

The old man and the other non-glasses chinese guy were Ip Chun and the disciple I mentioned about.

You have to go to Hong Kong to learn from them.

  • @lifesfinallgoodagain You can benefit a lot from reading a good book, plus the master, you put 2 and 2 together.

Good luck, because even in Ip Chun's dojo, there maybe wrong info from students who practiced more than 15 years of Wing Chun but doesn't understand what he is doing. Some are good, but you gotta listen carefully and experiment on your own.

At the end, i would say walk away from the fight if you cannot NOT hurt someone.

  • @sai18kit The one who stood there and didn't do anything was the disciple. The guy who played with the master is good too, as in knowing what wing chun is.

  • 0:49 attack looks a bit weird lol

  • Beautyfull work, you can see he really feels every move, he might as well stand there with a blindfold on. The guys talking shit, about footwork etc etc, you obviously do not know what the wing chun system is. there is no reason comming with bad remarks, just because you cant see the whole picture. study and commence a intelligent comment, so maybe one day you can also be a good student ;) lol

I hope i one day also will achieve the same level as the guys we see here. nice work keep it up!!

  • @lindner109 when people are new to something and still growing and making it a part of themselves they see only differences and opportunities to make themselves look better by bringing others down. Once they have stepped onto the path of mastery they see the similarities and the opportunity to lift everyone up through positive growth.

  • I greatly disagree on their footwork. Balance is wrong. Even for an exercise.

  • @Mp57navy video of YOU showing balance and footwork.. otherwise.. STFU

  • @hgamer i greatly disagree with the way they tied their shoelaces. It is clearly and obviously wrong lol!

  • @FerenczyRAM lol

  • @hgamer good flow Ilike how you actually feel him out instead of rushing or forcing.Alotta ploy`s being set up.Do you use the maple leaf palm for your feeling in your hands(ring finger and pinky straight down to the bottom of the palm curve back up to the tucked thumb)is the area... thanx.Nice clip!

  • @MrLexTalionis1 glad you liked

  • @Mp57navy your just one of those people that try sound pro by finding false errors on the video..faggot

  • @Mp57navy do u even know wat wing chun is?

  • @riceboy287 Indeed do. My complaint was that the main part of the body mass is supposed to be on the back leg, not balanced on both.

  • That guy in the video you ?

  • nice to see youtube is still full of extremely bored people.

  • Nice work.

  • lol...

  • хуйня

  • jezus that guy is like a wall

  • Awsome!!!

  • I'd love to see half you haters go against one of these guys and see how "bad" and "horrible" they are.

Just enjoy the arts and practice.

  • Very Nice!

  • this is soooooooo awesome!!! ^^ ^^!!!

  • this is soooooooo awesome!!! ^^ ^^!!!

  • so smooth and minimal :)

  • looks like fun :)

  • @gsrxcivic it IS Fun =)

  • very nice

  • chi sao dubwise ...lol ! space sound on this vid ....

  • HAHAH the the video audio...sounds like the movements of the fat guy's body....
