In reference to the comment about Ross and her lack of politics:Didnt she and the other 2 SUPREMES walk in the civil rights march along side of Martin Luther King in the 60's?And didnt she perform for the Clintons? and just because she isnt running for a seat, doesnt mean she has no political background.
Chill with the comparisons, Diana & Aretha are two different types of singers, and they're both legendary, and great in their on way; thats why they were both able to be successful at the exact same time. Back in those days, everybody covered each others songs.
oh yes black female artists : the most beautiful voice all over the world : bessie smith, sarah vaubillie holiday, ella fitzgerald, dinah washington, mahalia jackson, aretha franklin and the youngest whitney houston.... after just shit : lady gaga, beyonce, britney spears....
All she has done publically are wonderful things. Never negative, unlike many in the music industry. She is a wonderful mother and model citizen. --As to politics- if she has no political savy- then why has she been deeply involved in a well known, hand selected citizens group, involved in homeland security? That requires much trust on the state department's. part. Does it not? Look at her overall contributions before you judge her.
Of course shes a saint! Whenever one of her songs comes on everyone wants it turned up. Mary Wilson and you are both wrong.- Aside from her civil rights record , and generous charitable works, she continues to inspire millions. Obama has recognized her contributions to the nation during high profile several events. Give this wonderful woman her propers!! Obama puts her on a pedestal- we ALL should.- Diana Ross would actually make a great president herself!
@rickw1100 Come on now, Diana is not a saint for godsakes get a grip! I am not trying to downsize Diana by any means but don't sit here and make up crap. It was Gordy and Motown that released the 'i Have A Dream" speech on an album. Motown and it's artists are considered the soundtrack for the Movement. I have a book on the Civil Rights Movement w/ a photo of Diana, Mary Wilson, and Florence Ballard serving food to marchers at a church in Alabama. Diana Ross apart from all her charitable work is living proof that women in general and African American women in particular, can be beautiful, have an incredibly high IQ, and possess great artistry.
@rickw1100 No Motown was considered to be the "Music of Young America", no the soundtrack to the Civil Rights Movement. Berry didn't want any of his artist to get involved and he didn't. Neither did The Supremes.
@TheQueenAretha- ...well then, theres an incredible "fake" photo in the book: 'Walking For Freedom" Many music historians consider Motown to be the soundtrack to The Civil Rights Movement .The fact that it was a powerful black owned business that came to power at the height of the Civil Rights Movement in and of itself was a statement. Many think of Diana as a modern saint. Unfortunately Mary Wilson has made a few negative statements about her. She denies all of them. They're not true.- Saint.
@rickw1100 Motown of the "Sound of Young America", for the most part they had nothing to do with it. Diana Ross is no saint, all that she has done to get to the top. She is not a saint but who is. Top hyping her into something she isn't.
@rickw1100 That is a damn lie, Diana didn't do damn thing for the civil rights movement. She never protested or marched or did any of that. Don't sit here and lie. Berry Gordy didn't allow his artist to get involved and Diana sure as hell wasn't gonna to help. She didn't dod shit.
@rickw1100 Diana did have a got damn thing to do with Barrack becoming president and neither was Oprah's influence. You are overhyping Diana, making her more than what she really is. This conversation has nothing to do with this video. And Diana never put her life on the line during the civil rights movement, she never in her life worked with Dr. King or any other leader of the movement. She didn't risk a got damn thing.
@rickw1100 Not true, Hillary's funds were running out. Barrack was able to connect to Americans, he got americans to go out and help campaign. I am not saying that Diana didn't influence Oprah. Diana was not the only black major artist on TV. Motown in its self was domaining the television and radio. Diana is no sain't, for gods sakes she is no god and has doesn't anything other than be a successful singer.
@rickw1100 Wrong! Hillary was no longer able to go on. She was running out of funds. And even if that was true, Diana had nothing to do with Barrack being president and in the end no matter how powerful Oprah is american are gonna vote on who they feel is the better choice. How did Diana a singer have influence on Oprah getting into News. That doesn't add up. Oprah is responsible for Oprah and Barrack is responsible for Barrack. He is the reason he is President. Diana had nothing to do with that
@rickw1100 Diana Ross is nothing like Martin Luther King. I mean nothing and that is fact. What you are stating is very disrespectful. Diana didn't do a got damn thing for the Civil RIghts Movement nor was she ever the person that Dr. King was. And she is not responsible for putting Obama in office. Oprah was influence by many people not just Diana and that has nothing to do with her backing Barrack. Barrack is the reason he became president because he was able to relate to most americans.
@rickw1100 Don't sit here and lie one Jessie and Oprah, Oprah talked about how seeing The Supremes on Ed Sulivian inspired her, she nevere made a comparson between her and Dr. King. No doubt the success The Supremes had was groundbreaking and open at alot of doors for other singers to tear down but she was not the only one, there was Aretha and many others that open those doors and broke those barriers.
@rickw1100 Are you out of you fucking mind, i know you are a fan of Diana and everything but don't get it twisted. Diana is nothing like Dr. King and no one thinks that but you. She didn't nothing of importance of movement. Do you even know what the Civil Rights Movement is, it was a fight for freedom and equality for blacks in america. Diana doesn't even come into the conversation when you talk about that rought time in america.
@rickw1100 Diana Ross has nothing to do with the Civil RIghts Movement, in fact the Civil Right Movement started long before Diana or Aretha were born. That movemen doesn't have a got damn thing to do with her existing.
@rickw1100 Aretha doesn't scream, she squalls. And her voice has far more nuance to it. More feeling, far more expression, how she uses the chord changes and intervals to resolve melodic ideas, her improvisation, timing etc.
And I could very well mention how Diana has 0 Grammies, while Aretha has 18.
@rickw1100 A person is eligible for a Hollywood Walk of Fame star FIVE years after their career begins, so it's not as huge an honor as you think.
In fact, nothing you have said has proved Diana is more gifted, just more successful, which is true, but Aretha is by FAR the better musician. It's not even a competition. Now Diana is astonishing, a very versatile singer, as well as one of the few songstresses to have an impact both on music and in Hollywood, but Aretha is the greatest singer ever.
@rickw1100 Silly wabbit Aretha out sings Ross on ANYTHING! You should just acknowledge what Diana did years ago: Aretha is the REAL singer! If Aretha only sang for the church choir she would still be a better singer! Milli Vanilli sold millions of records - genuine talent not needed for that.
@luvureally In reality they are both two driven, talented BLACK women! They have achieved more than what 99.9% of the world's population will ever achieve. I'm crazy for even arguing with a no talent zoo monkey about which of these BLACK women is more talented!
@rickw1100 Actually took some of the sap out of it and injected it with a little soul. Diana said "Thank you". Diana also admired Gladys Knight, another superior singer. I must say she did R-E-S-P-E-C-T her "betters". In reality Aretha admired Diana's professionalism, hard work and way with a pop tune while Diana admired Aretha's immense talent and musicianship.
@rickw1100 Nobody has been beating down the door to sing that diabetes inducing slop! Performance artist - euphemism for not very talented but very driven, hardworking and wants to really be in show biz.
@rickw1100 Musically Ross was much better as a Supreme. Those HDH songs made her. She was not sitting at the piano working out arrangements like Aretha, she just song how and what she was told. Diana followed instructions well, those were some great tunes.
@rickw1100 Streisand is the one you should compare Ross to since she is also an actress and singer. She has 5 Oscar nominations won 2, won a couple of Grammys, couple of Golden Globes, a few Emmys. How many of these has the strawboss won? 1 golden globe. Aretha has 16 Grammys, first woman in the Rock&Roll Hall of Fame. Guess who Ross lost the 1971 Grammy award for best r&b singer? And she lost it covering a classic song WRITTEN by Aretha.
@rickw1100 Aretha is a great SINGER! Ross has never been and never will be in the category of Ella, Sarah, Billie, Dinah, Aretha is. Hate to admit it but Ga Ga has far more musical ability than Ms. Mousy Pipes. As I said Ms. Wilson is all that Ross has aspired to be but could not reach. That screeching Beyonce has WRITTEN several million sellers, Madonna has won ASCAP awards.
@luvureally Its very sad Yet So TYPICAL folks especially BLACK folks love to Tear down our beautiful talented black female singers to build up the other. This is sickening just reading the comments..Yet with the white females artists. this is NOT done. Never hear Stresiand torn down to build up Liza Minelli, or Madonna torn down to build up Cher, or Britney Spears torn down to build up Miley Cyrus. and I have countless of white artist that are Never compared. NOT so with black female artists.
@rickw1100 Aretha is a great singer period. Voted as greatest singer of all time. Ross not on any greatest singer list. She is not even a top ten caliber singer on the Motown label. they "allowed" her to shine. Carreras, Ross and Domingo equals a lot of money! That minnie mouse voice powerful?! LOL! Pretty dresses and stage manners do not make a great singer. As the great Nancy Wilson (all the class, talent and power Ms. Ross strives for) "You better face it girl", Ree Ree is the real deal.
@rickw1100 Franklin is NOT an actress. As you said she appeared in the Blues Brothers, as did many other non-actors: James Brown, Steve Cropper, Ray Charles, Chaka Khan, Joe Walsh, etc., So what is your point? I did not challenge Ross's skills as an actor, I am speaking entirely of musical ability. Ross has limited musical skills. FACT!
@rickw1100 Ross ain't even on the planet when it comes to being a great singer. She is not even in the galaxy. You realize it is now 2010 and Madonna is now the most COMMERCIALLY successful female singer in history? Madonna has won more GRAMMYS (Ross 0), more golden globe awards and a few ASCAP awards. So I suppose she is far more talented than Ross. Again Franklin is a singer, not an actress. And she has proved she is a far more talented singer than Ross. Hell Ross will tell you that.
@rickw1100 Of those songs you named the only one worth a damn is "Ain't No Mountain High Enough". Only because it is an Ashford and Simpson tune and Tammy Terrell and Marvin Gaye did it first and better. Ms. Terrell was another who could sing circles around Ross. In fact every other female singer at Motown could sing circles around Ross. "Endless Love", "Muscles", "Eaten Alive", LOL! (falling on the floor laughing and gasping for breath).
@rickw1100 Ross vastly more talented and courageous?! She can't write, produce, arrange, play an instrument, couldn't lead a band across the street. Courage? It was Aretha who did scores of benefit concerts for various civil rights organizations, while Ross pondered on the right shade of lipstick. Ask Oprah?! LOL! It was Aretha who made everybody demand R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
@rickw1100 Aretha can sing r&b, jazz, gospel, blues, pop and does them all better than Ms. Ross. It was Aretha who was voted the greatest singer. You are obviously not familiar with Aretha's Columbia catalog. Between the ages of 18-25 she did brilliant recordings of jazz, pop, blues standards they have become classics also. "Take A Look", "Skylark", "This Bitter Earth", "One Step Ahead", "Running Out of Fools", etc., This young girl sang with emotion and skill that Ross has yet to master.
@rickw1100 They are both talented. Ross is a great entertainer in the Sammy Davis vein, something she seems to have aspired to and achieved. Aretha wanted to be a great artist, which she also aspired to and achieved. You spoke of paying dues, any Black entertainer that came up during that era, especially female, paid some heavy dues. Franklin and Ross have always admired each other.
@rickw1100 Aretha is not an actress so nothing to compare. But they are both singers and Aretha's body of work has been much more creative and diverse. Aretha has proven to be the better soul singer, better jazz singer, better blues singer, better gospel even pop (Gentle On My Mind, This Girls In Love With You, I Say A Little Prayer), etc., From her teenager gospel recordings, the blues, jazz & early soul years on Columbia to the pinnacle of the Atlantic years she has proven to be the greatest.
@rickw1100 Commercial success does not measure actual talent and creativity. Madonna has eclipsed Diana in every aspect of the entertainment business, commercial wise. Does it mean she is more talented? Commercial sales have nothing to do with genuine talent. The amazing thing is Aretha has sold millions without having to water down or compromise her sound. That wouldn't happen today. Diana has had more universal crossover appeal, but again, musically she is an infant compared to Aretha.
@rickw1100 You speak of Diana's Academy nomination, well Aretha has actually won 18 grammys for her music. Again this is about singing. Aretha wrote classics like "Call Me", "Day Dreaming", "All The King's HOrses", "Think", "Baby Baby Sweet Baby", First Snow in Kokomo. Diana would never be considered the consummate singer in any genre. Miss Ross great entertainer, yes, great singer/musician, no.
@rickw1100 Ross has SONG blues, gospel, soul/r&b, jazz but has not mastered them. I am speaking strictly about music, since this is a music video. Ross is talented, but to compare her musically to Aretha is insane. Jerry Wexler has said that Aretha produced herself, all he did was turn on the equipment and let her go. Musically Ross has never had that power or creativity. Aretha is a great musician, Ross is a great entertainer.
not sure why people think it necessary to insult Aretha for singing a diana ross song?? they both love and admire each other to this day.. They are both fabulous at what they do.
I prefer to hear Miss Ross sing this one, but the Queen holds her on with pretty much whatever she sings, especially in those days, but this one truly belongs to Lady Supreme.
@a1d2h The place went nuts- she was everything I thought she would be: a true legend, but gracious, and completely connected to her audience. I WAS PUNKIN U!! How can U love Diana-and not love Aretha?
@a1d2h - No. You win. I'm not gonna do battle with a true Aretha fan. I've seen them both in concert. They blow the roof off the place. I was at a concert of Arethas here in N.Y.- at one point she sat down and just played the piano- it was like we were all in her living room. She was wonderful. Then she did her cover of Sly Stone's EVERYDAY PEOPLE.
@a1d2h- cont-- Edwin Starr, Mary Wells, and on and on and on- why because they weren't comin out with a drum and afro-puffs? Your view of what black artists are or can do -is racist. Diana Ross eclipes Aretha-more talent , more beauty, more class than anyone, black or white.
@rickw1100 Diana Ross eclipses Aretha in talent?! Aretha is one of the best singers of all time, no one would ever mistake Diana as one. Aretha writes, arranges, produces and plays a killer piano. Musically Diana cannot enter Aretha's universe. I did enjoy the Supremes and a few of her solo efforts. Diana sang what she was given. Aretha would turn it, flip it, Aretharize it. Compare her covers to the originals - Respect, I Say A Little Prayer, Bridge Over Troubled Water,
@luvureally continued., Until You come Back to Me, This Girls In Love With You., She created something entirely new with her covers. Even Otis said that "lil girl stole my song" (Respect). When Diana masters the blues, gospel, soul/r&b, jazz and piano then you can make a fair comparison.
@a1d2h Oh really. Tell that to Berry Gordy, the Supremes, the Four Tops, the Temptations, Gladys Knight/Pips, Martha Reeves, Edwin Starr, Stevie Wonder(white people? Really), Marvin Gaye (white people? Really?), the Undisputed Truth, the Jackson 5, Smokey Robinson,Eddie Kendricks, David Ruffin, Rick James(white people?)
@a1d2h -Thats a crock. Diana never sacrifice her Afro-American heritage for anyone. And who are U trying to kid with" pure black music",-thats a stereotype-any beautiful music that comes from a black artist IS black music. Stop being racist. Atlantic/Stax were no more "black" than Motown. Aretha covered white folks music-U tell me who sold out?
@a1d2h- So what. All of her musical accomplishments are in R&B. She has never had the popularity or cross over appeal to the masses as Diana Ross has. Nor has she done as much to break done racial barriers/walls and stereotypes. Diana Ross is a legend.
@a1d2h -Not as super a stan as yourself. You won't list theaccomplishments?) next to Miss Ross's because you wouldn't be able to see them! The point is, she is constantly taking already proven hits, as BOTW or Respect (already a hit with Otis Redding, who wrote/released it) and then recording them. Not so with the one and only Boss." BOO HOO" 4 U and Aretha the crook. Patheic.
@a1d2h -Oh, and by the way The Supremes version of "Call Me" was recorded about the same time as their "Someday We'll Be Together",-there were several songs that were recorded but not released before their split. -Berry Gordy rethought it, and chose to release what was to be Diana's 1st solo, "Someday" as a Supremes song, and the "other", as "filler" on her third album,"Everthing". Barry's decision.
@a1d2h -The Supremes never would have had those hits without Diana- And U make my case, "Bridge Over Troubled Water" was a Simon and Garfunkel tune! Aretha stole it! She has NO shame! Defend her all U want- Diana is not only a true music great-she is also both an Emmy and Academy Award Nominee - Aretha nothing else. Aretha just screams other folks tunes. 4 Shame.
@a1d2h Cont.- Aretha has stolen tunes from so many better artists- Diana, Dionne, Stevie Wonder, even Simon and Garfunkel- this crook even stole tunes from fucking Pavarotti!!! What U think Pavarotti's people think when they turn on the radio-and hear this crook singing his tunes?? WTF??? U EVER HEAR Pavarotti stealing her shit? Ever hear Pavarotti singing Freeway of Love? Hell No!! Shes' a crook and your'e a crook defender!!
@a1d2h -Diana never recorded CALL ME-that was a Supremes cover orchestrated by Berry Gordy. Diana never needed Aretha's shit. Diana has way more # 1s than Aretha. LOL,LOL. Aretha can't hold a candle to Diana!, And U can't offer any defense 4 a vulture who piliges other people's song lists.
@a1d2h- con't--- Aretha is like a vulture stealing tunes from others! From Diana to Dionne -the women steals other people's songs. No one does that to her!! She needs to stop it!!
That's Aretha..as much as we love her..when it comes to fashion..she doesnt always make the best fashion choices. But I've heard that she won't take advice regarding fashion.
@Heat160 I feel her on that, thats what makes her real! real talent, real fashion too. And I remember her telling oprah that she is very domesticated. I also heard that she is a fabulous cook.

FACT!
luvureally 1 year ago
@rickw1100 Ross ain't even on the planet when it comes to being a great singer. She is not even in the galaxy. You realize it is now 2010 and Madonna is now the most COMMERCIALLY successful female singer in history? Madonna has won more GRAMMYS (Ross 0), more golden globe awards and a few ASCAP awards. So I suppose she is far more talented than Ross. Again Franklin is a singer, not an actress. And she has proved she is a far more talented singer than Ross. Hell Ross will tell you that.
luvureally 1 year ago
@rickw1100 Of those songs you named the only one worth a damn is "Ain't No Mountain High Enough". Only because it is an Ashford and Simpson tune and Tammy Terrell and Marvin Gaye did it first and better. Ms. Terrell was another who could sing circles around Ross. In fact every other female singer at Motown could sing circles around Ross. "Endless Love", "Muscles", "Eaten Alive", LOL! (falling on the floor laughing and gasping for breath).
luvureally 1 year ago

"Take A Look", "Skylark", "This Bitter Earth", "One Step Ahead", "Running Out of Fools", etc., This young girl sang with emotion and skill that Ross has yet to master.
luvureally 1 year ago
@rickw1100 They are both talented. Ross is a great entertainer in the Sammy Davis vein, something she seems to have aspired to and achieved. Aretha wanted to be a great artist, which she also aspired to and achieved. You spoke of paying dues, any Black entertainer that came up during that era, especially female, paid some heavy dues. Franklin and Ross have always admired each other.

@rickw1100 Aretha is not an actress so nothing to compare. But they are both singers and Aretha's body of work has been much more creative and diverse. Aretha has proven to be the better soul singer, better jazz singer, better blues singer, better gospel even pop (Gentle On My Mind, This Girls In Love With You, I Say A Little Prayer), etc., From her teenager gospel recordings, the blues, jazz & early soul years on Columbia to the pinnacle of the Atlantic years she has proven to be the greatest.
luvureally 1 year ago
@rickw1100 Commercial success does not measure actual talent and creativity. Madonna has eclipsed Diana in every aspect of the entertainment business, commercial wise. Does it mean she is more talented? Commercial sales have nothing to do with genuine talent. The amazing thing is Aretha has sold millions without having to water down or compromise her sound. That wouldn't happen today. Diana has had more universal crossover appeal, but again, musically she is an infant compared to Aretha.
luvureally 1 year ago
@rickw1100 You speak of Diana's Academy nomination, well Aretha has actually won 18 grammys for her music. Again this is about singing. Aretha wrote classics like "Call Me", "Day Dreaming", "All The King's HOrses", "Think", "Baby Baby Sweet Baby", First Snow in Kokomo. Diana would never be considered the consummate singer in any genre. Miss Ross great entertainer, yes, great singer/musician, no.
luvureally 1 year ago
@rickw1100 Ross has SONG blues, gospel, soul/r&b, jazz but has not mastered them. I am speaking strictly about music, since this is a music video. Ross is talented, but to compare her musically to Aretha is insane. Jerry Wexler has said that Aretha produced herself, all he did was turn on the equipment and let her go. Musically Ross has never had that power or creativity. Aretha is a great musician, Ross is a great entertainer.

Marvelous video!
Diana Ross & Aretha Franklin have always performed each others' classic work beautifully, and this clip's no exception.
That said, though, as great as this version is, you MUST see Aretha's version from Paris' Olympia Theater, from the same period.

not sure why people think it necessary to insult Aretha for singing a diana ross song?? they both love and admire each other to this day.. They are both fabulous at what they do.
whatigot2say 1 year ago
I prefer to hear Miss Ross sing this one, but the Queen holds her on with pretty much whatever she sings, especially in those days, but this one truly belongs to Lady Supreme.

@a1d2h The place went nuts- she was everything I thought she would be: a true legend, but gracious, and completely connected to her audience. I WAS PUNKIN U!! How can U love Diana-and not love Aretha?
rickw1100 1 year ago
@a1d2h - No. You win. I'm not gonna do battle with a true Aretha fan. I've seen them both in concert. They blow the roof off the place. I was at a concert of Arethas here in N.Y.- at one point she sat down and just played the piano- it was like we were all in her living room. She was wonderful. Then she did her cover of Sly Stone's EVERYDAY PEOPLE.
rickw1100 1 year ago
@a1d2h- cont-- Edwin Starr, Mary Wells, and on and on and on- why because they weren't comin out with a drum and afro-puffs? Your view of what black artists are or can do -is racist. Diana Ross eclipes Aretha-more talent , more beauty, more class than anyone, black or white.
rickw1100 1 year ago
@rickw1100 Diana Ross eclipses Aretha in talent?! Aretha is one of the best singers of all time, no one would ever mistake Diana as one. Aretha writes, arranges, produces and plays a killer piano. Musically Diana cannot enter Aretha's universe. I did enjoy the Supremes and a few of her solo efforts. Diana sang what she was given. Aretha would turn it, flip it, Aretharize it. Compare her covers to the originals - Respect, I Say A Little Prayer, Bridge Over Troubled Water,
luvureally 1 year ago
@luvureally continued., Until You come Back to Me, This Girls In Love With You., She created something entirely new with her covers. Even Otis said that "lil girl stole my song" (Respect). When Diana masters the blues, gospel, soul/r&b, jazz and piano then you can make a fair comparison.
luvureally 1 year ago
@a1d2h Oh really. Tell that to Berry Gordy, the Supremes, the Four Tops, the Temptations, Gladys Knight/Pips, Martha Reeves, Edwin Starr, Stevie Wonder(white people? Really), Marvin Gaye (white people? Really?), the Undisputed Truth, the Jackson 5, Smokey Robinson,Eddie Kendricks, David Ruffin, Rick James(white people?)
rickw1100 1 year ago
@a1d2h -Thats a crock. Diana never sacrifice her Afro-American heritage for anyone. And who are U trying to kid with" pure black music",-thats a stereotype-any beautiful music that comes from a black artist IS black music. Stop being racist. Atlantic/Stax were no more "black" than Motown. Aretha covered white folks music-U tell me who sold out?
rickw1100 1 year ago
@a1d2h- So what. All of her musical accomplishments are in R&B. She has never had the popularity or cross over appeal to the masses as Diana Ross has. Nor has she done as much to break done racial barriers/walls and stereotypes. Diana Ross is a legend.
rickw1100 1 year ago
@a1d2h -Not as super a stan as yourself. You won't list theaccomplishments?) next to Miss Ross's because you wouldn't be able to see them! The point is, she is constantly taking already proven hits, as BOTW or Respect (already a hit with Otis Redding, who wrote/released it) and then recording them. Not so with the one and only Boss." BOO HOO" 4 U and Aretha the crook. Patheic.
rickw1100 1 year ago
@a1d2h -Oh, and by the way The Supremes version of "Call Me" was recorded about the same time as their "Someday We'll Be Together",-there were several songs that were recorded but not released before their split. -Berry Gordy rethought it, and chose to release what was to be Diana's 1st solo, "Someday" as a Supremes song, and the "other", as "filler" on her third album,"Everthing". Barry's decision.
rickw1100 1 year ago
@a1d2h -The Supremes never would have had those hits without Diana- And U make my case, "Bridge Over Troubled Water" was a Simon and Garfunkel tune! Aretha stole it! She has NO shame! Defend her all U want- Diana is not only a true music great-she is also both an Emmy and Academy Award Nominee - Aretha nothing else. Aretha just screams other folks tunes. 4 Shame.
rickw1100 1 year ago
@a1d2h Cont.- Aretha has stolen tunes from so many better artists- Diana, Dionne, Stevie Wonder, even Simon and Garfunkel- this crook even stole tunes from fucking Pavarotti!!! What U think Pavarotti's people think when they turn on the radio-and hear this crook singing his tunes?? WTF??? U EVER HEAR Pavarotti stealing her shit? Ever hear Pavarotti singing Freeway of Love? Hell No!! Shes' a crook and your'e a crook defender!!
rickw1100 1 year ago
@a1d2h -Diana never recorded CALL ME-that was a Supremes cover orchestrated by Berry Gordy. Diana never needed Aretha's shit. Diana has way more # 1s than Aretha. LOL,LOL. Aretha can't hold a candle to Diana!, And U can't offer any defense 4 a vulture who piliges other people's song lists.
rickw1100 1 year ago
@a1d2h- con't--- Aretha is like a vulture stealing tunes from others! From Diana to Dionne -the women steals other people's songs. No one does that to her!! She needs to stop it!!
