Firearms are built to withstand a certain specific chamber pressure and any change to the propellant that proposes to increase the lethality of the projectile would increase the chamber pressure. If you try to use a propellant for which a weapon wasn't designed then I hope you like third degree burns and shrapnel. You could build a firearm for use with that propellant but you can't mod a normal gun.
