You get artists nowadays that make one or few good songs. But for some reason, Phil Collins has made every one of his songs epic! This is one of my favourites along with "another day in paradise".
THERE will never be another Phil Collins - he owned the 80's. Yet we can still listen to his songs today as if they were new ! He never fell into the 80's sound. At last count I know over 175 songs featuring Phi/genesisl. I tried to pick a favorite song and did, decades ago "If Leaving Me is Easy". The extended live version found here on youtube. In the 80's and 90's I would wait for a new cd release and everytime I was there day one and made the purchase. It was like Christmas to me.
@ahfaxthis I totally agree your opinion. THERE will never be another Phil Collins, there would be someone sings well, but there will be no one like Phil's voice. Phil's voice is real fantastic.
This is the first Phil Collins album I ever bought. I fell in love with a great girl, infact the only time I fell in love. This song always reminds me of being at her parents house, having a night together after many nights out on the town. All of my life, is another favourite. Great times, great songs and some tearfull memories. Cheers Phil.
If you were hearing this song for the first time, and didn't know the title or anything about it..... with that sneaky intro, there is no way you would suspect this is a love song.... but one the song kicks in... you find out. The horns are great on this one, as well as Pino Palladino's bass lines. One of Phil's best songs and one of the most unusual love songs ever.

for you David Copperfield fans this is the song that plays during his opening illusion on the "Flying: Live the Dream" special. The illusion is called "Heaven on the seventh floor"
Thank you so much for posting the original album version of this song. When I was 11 years old, I moved to the States with my mum and my younger sister. My elder brother, who wasn't very good at expressing himself, drove us to the airport and played this song all the way to Heathrow for 2 hours. That was 20 years ago, and this song still means more to me than I can say.
