@fmallis I normally try to name successors too, but with U2 wrapping up a $700M USD tour (highest grossing in history) and still fairly young (Bono turning 50), let's name a successor when U2 is done. For now, U2 is the U2 of this generation. Possibly THE greatest band ever, IMO.

But if we're talking all-time greats, I'd go with Led Zeppelin.

this is pretty much my favorite band of this century. they're different and they certainly aren't sellouts like the garbage that i hear in the american radio. i'm american and i agree with what others have to say: american music is starting to suck. how did we go from ppl like elvis, michael j., james brown, celine dion, whitney houston ect. to shit like kesha, lil wayne, drake, katy perry, justin bieber, miley? oh and i forgot, their music/lyrics/vocals are raw, not fake.

I still can't believe that I met Gary last saturday when I went to a Snow Patrol concert! What a show! Stood in first row, it was amazing! They're are incredibly talented in my opinion. -And Gary is just such a great guy! His coolness kinda radiated from him! Whoa! So surreal! LOVE SNOW PATROL! :D <3

Bless him- a lovely man and superb (and prolific) songwriter. All of their albums contain real gems, as do both Reindeer Section cds. A Hundred Million Suns is simply stunning throughout. And playing live they are so, so amazing!

I hate when people tag them as repetitive because that only shows that those people haven't ever heard a Snow Patrol album from beginning to end.

Snow Patrol are a truly great band. I love that they grew and learnt over the years, its so organic and live they just blow you away. Gary's banter and gorgeous smile don't hurt either :-p....here's to another 15 years!
