Which is what I would like to point out to ou people out there, When hurricane Rita Hit, KRON-TV (Formely NBC/Ind now MNTV) and KOVR in Sacramento (CBS) used feed from KHOU-TV during the coverage.
KHOU-TV is still using the Metropolis theme. And to tell you the truth, I really didn't know of what it was called, I just thought it was some cool bumper music! -:)
They dropped it in 2006 in favor for Stephen Arnold's Evolution. The debacle happened in late of 2006. KHOU had all intentions to drop Metropolis for Evolution.
As for the music change, Metropolis usage was in doubt maybe a year and a half after it was introduced there. KHOU had intents on commisioning a 615 package as early as '04. Something to combine both image & news elements, but later dropped their interest in that, opting for Evolution.
Metropolis was also used out at KGPE-TV from 2001 until 2004 when they went with Extreme for two years and now they have the god awful Alchemy News as the result of the SeSac attack.

How long did KHOU use the Metropolis theme? Speaking of which 2 other stations in CA used Metropolis, KGPE-TV Fresno and KKFX Santa Maria.

KHOU-TV is still using the Metropolis theme. And to tell you the truth, I really didn't know of what it was called, I just thought it was some cool bumper music! -:)

They used it from 2002-2006.
They had to drop it when the Stephen Arnold/SESAC debacle occurred.
