  • So I finished replacing the [remaining] upstairs windows in my house with the same Andersen 400 Series Woodwright windows to maintain consistency. I was forced to use another contractor because the first one was committed. I reiterate! The Andersen 400 Series Woodwright window SUCK! They are NOT air tight. I had the second contractor follow the enclosed Andersen installation instructions to a tee. The windows are square. They all leak air where the top sash meets the soft gasket. 'Nuff said!

  • Andersen 400 Series Woodwright window SUCK!. I recently replaced six upstairs windows in my house using these. What a mistake. That bottom sash on all six windows does not sit evenly. The sashes are all positioned further to the left side thus creating a small opening at the bottom right corner. When the windows are locked down, light shows through, along with the outside air. The gap size varies. I will be contacting ann andersen rep. And this video sucks too!

  • @biohasm Are you sure that the windows were not just installed out of square? It could me a problem with the install, and not the window itself.

  • @mongess, I found the answer concerning the small openings in the corners of my windows. They are "Liner Plugs - Side & Sill" (#0102708) Foam inserts that are installed in the corners as a gasket. They were missing. I assume the installer removed them. Maybe he was thinking they were part of the packing. I discovered this looking at a floor model of my window at Home Depot. I ordered replacements from Andersen. All is good now.

  • @biohasm

Your problem has nothing to do with the window. It has everything to do with the installation! Who install them? I have install these window and the look and perform very well.

  • Thank you for this information. My husband and I just replaced all of our windows. We sure could have used your information instead of figuring it our on our own! That was an expensive lesson!
