this piano suite is truely amazing ... The promenade theme is just superb, and all the other movement are so different from each other but each is really interesting. You can't imagine someone composing such a genius piece in just a few month especially when you hear the last movement, which is the most beautiful movement. I'm practising since 3 days now and I must say that it isn't a too difficult piece.

He starts out way too fast and leaves behind much of the beauty of this piece. It was written to be played energetically, but the tempo need not be speeded up like this. This is one of the worst renditions I have heard from perhaps 50 that I have listened to. If you want to hear it played correctly, check out Victor Merzhonov's recording. The live performance Merzhonov did in the Great Hall is technically correct, but the audio is horrible.
Even the material performance of the instrument is sacrificed. It doesn’t respond well. Force is neither emotion nor style, subtlety is. It's not beautifully performed. It's violent. I love this piece. I'm very sad. Thanks.
It shouldn't be about force. It doesn't need to be played with such a force. There's a subtle and absolute difference between force and grandiosity. I mean the magical amalgam between the subtle way you hit the keys and the tempo, this is expression, that is what piano is about. There are subtleties in rhythm that are not realized in this interpretation. It doesn't express the grandiosity and the emotion that the piece demands. It is not at all about hitting the keys with so much force.
i am a very depressed person right now...i just started playing this on piano, and after a couple days i can play the first few lines slowly with only, say, five mistakes? :) this guy is AMAZING. awesome!
thanks...doesn't seem likely, but...thanks! makes me feel happy...and I'M sure you're a whole lot better than me...after a couple of years, you have to be pretty damn good...
CMW, btw, stick to CARTOONS and leave classical piano music to the intellectuals, you idiot moron. You don't have to listen. stay off the classical videos and watch YouTube cartoons.
i agree that CMW is a douche....but classical piano is not only for "intellectuals"....it is something that everyone has the right to listen and enjoy.
liszt100, Yes, but since he's a douche, he should just LISTEN and ENJOY! That was really my point. He should stop making stupid, rude comments, and just pay attention and enjoy the music. I said "intellectuals" because he sounded like an idiot. It was really to give it back to him.

CREATIVEmastWork, you have the WRONG name, you obviously know nothing about great works. Especially, since you have CARTOON videos! LOL!
You should have just remained quiet, because by opening your big, fat mouth, we all now KNOW how ignorant you are about the classics so STFU, moron.

More thought provoking when the previous movement is added. As this changes the viciousness of the music as intended.

Thank you! I've wanted someone to do this forever (/since I started playing great gate) I've had that same frustration.
