This ride made me mad. We had fast passes for test track and so we decided just to ride this to make time go by. TUrns out this line ends up being 2 and a half hours, like WTF. so since we were already in the line we decided to stay since people kept saying best ride ever OMG. Were not even half way through and our fast passes expire-sigh-. then we get on this stupid ride for FIve mintues and were all like WTF is this we waited 2 and a half hours for five mins. of nothing
Its in the living with the land area. Its one of the best rides at epcot besides test track! That is exactly what it looks like and it really feels like your flying!
i went on this we were front row and it was amazing!! u really feel the ride when ur actually on it the cool breeze and when u go over the ocean u smell the ocean when u go over field u smell fresh cut grass and flowers and oranges and a cool breeze then going over the mountain it gets really cold! my little brother was scared but i wanted to go on again if only the line wasnt 1 hour long!
@Ohsob5135 The person's above. If you go on this ride you want to be in the firest row because it goes the highest so there's no feet in the way making the ride unrealistic. There's about 3 or 4 rows I think and when you get lifted up the last row will be at the lowest point. The ride is so amazing when you're in the first row but if your not then it's just a bit weird. I've only ridden Soarin' once. The only thing I really remember about the ride is that my seat belt wasn't nearly tight enough for my tastes and that I spent half the ride looking below me in fear. It was quite a drop, as I remember.
Well I do agree I need to get a better camera, but this video is not bad because of the camera. It is bad because I am filming a projection and you are seeing the refreshes that human eyes would not see. It is the samething if you take any video camera and film your computer crt monitor or old tv. Unless you have modified the tv (there are devices for this) you would see the same type of effect. It is only magnified here because of the big screen.
They really need to get a Soarin' Over the World movie in there. It just doesn't make sense to fly over CA. A world, or USA, version would be great for EPCOT..
Leave the California version as a unique film for Disney's California Adventure, where it actually fits the theme.
Oh my goodness..the part near the end,where you fly over the surfers at dusk! It's glorious!!! This attraction is a feast for the senses. It's worth the price of the trip.
Well you could see the shuttle take off, Disney World, Bridges, Groves, Golf, Beaches, etc.. That said, you would not have as much of that woo I feel like I am jumping off a cliff in the pit of your stomach feeling. Since florida is so flat.
What might be cooler is if they made some sort of variation of soarn for each of the countries 360 movies. Canada, France, China, those would all be neat to see. Canada and China, they have recently updated, but perhaps they could do this for France.
You sit in a hang glider type of seat and are raised up in the air high over the screen as you rock around with the wind blowing in your face as you watch the movie.

I think this is 1 of Disney's big inspirations - what a ride it is.

It's a completely different type of ride in comparison to mission space, in all likelihood, no you won't have any headaches or end up throwing up after the ride.
This is a very subdued ride with a very calming feeling. You should not have any issues unless you have a fear of heights. Even then I would give it a try and just look strait forward or up. This is a clone ride of the California Adventure version, thus the exact same flying over California. Still a great ride and well worth getting a fast pass for early in the morning. The ride is located at Epcot in the Land Pavilion of future world.

Yes the ride is in front of a screen. The rows you sit in are suspended in front of the screen to give the feeling of flight. The highest the ride goes is 40 feet, and that's the front row. They blow a gentle breeze on the riders and smells come in on some of the scenes like the orange groves.
this ride sends shivers down my spine watching it again got back in oct 08 did 3 weeks in theme parks rode this over 10 times and its got to be the best ride ever ....
that ride is awesome but the weird thing is that I would always get stuck riding in one of the top cars and i wanted 1 of the lower ones 4 a different ride experience.
2 years ago i went on with my dad and my sister and we sat on the bottom row in the middle and it is wicked cool because all the feet are dangling above you and everything is aimed at you(such as the golf ball)
then last year, my whole family went on(5 of us) and they had us split so i went with my sister who had never been on before at the top row on the edge and it is totally different bottom is sooo much better
if you ask the ride attendant for the front row they will give it to you gladly. You may have to wait for the next group tho - but it's no more than another 8 minutes. Just ask - they'll do it for you.
I LOVE this ride but the one in florida should have a different theme than the one in disneyland LOL why do you want to see california scenery if your in florida it should be sorin over florida or soaring over the United States
I agree, it would be nice if they updated the video with soarin over America, or over the world to tie into the Epcot theme better. I think it was a mix of the cost of a new theme, the fact that lately Disney appears to like to mirror rides between DL and WDW, and the fact Florida is flat.
Yeah, you are best to fast pass this ride if you can. I would sugest hitting the fast pass station as your first stop into Epcot. Though they do have some nice interactive games in the stand-by line.
My opinion could not be further from that. This is one of my family's favorite rides. One of the best Disney has made, but hay we all have our own opinions. I would suggest you give it a ride just to confirm yours...

I went on Soaring two weeks ago, and Spaceship earth as well. Spaceship Earth is actualy kind of neat. Most of it is the same with a new audio. The end where you go down backwards has been updated with a horizions style choose your future. I have the video, but just have not gotten to editing it yet. So look for the posting on mickeyears very soon.

This ride was awesome!!! You can smell the ocean, the pine trees, and you can fell the wind blowing on your face and you can also feel the mist.
If anyone plans to go to Epcot I recommend you to ride this ride and its worth the wait in line.

Yes, there are three levels of gliders in three rows. So you could have people above and under you depending on where you get on.
