  • Books load faster.

  • the difference between the wifi and the 3G and wifi is that with the 3G+wifi, u can go on the internet in the street, but with wifi, u can go in ur house or mcdonalds for example, im only getting the wifi model because its like £50 cheaper :) hope it helped

  • You don't need to charge it when you get the kindle just turn it on

  • u talk toooooooooooo much

  • @EmortalDragon416 my mom has the nook, I have tons of friends that have the kindle... the kindle is wayyyyyyy!! better inmy opinion. More light weight and stuff better for someone who is impatient. If you want a slow touchscreen stupid handheld thing, get the nook:) ehhe

  • its the19"th century's ipad!

  • can you load ur own pdf files on kindle...??

  • As soon as it came onto your home page it was downloaded.

you talked about it down loading 20 seconds after it was downloaded.

  • Your book was downloaded before you put the kindle down.

  • hey could you weigh both the kindles to see what weight they in comparisan to each other?

  • i want a kindle noe.

  • i now now sorry 4 that

  • is it a 3G or just normal one

  • 6:24 "Suck it , Wonder woman.."? Nice book ;D

  • How do you get more books on it? Do you have to buy them or are they free to download?

  • @MrSnappy

Because Reading books on the iPad, gives you serious iStrain.

  • why are you getting a kindle? you already own an ipad!

  • i just got a kindle today and i gotta say, i think its better than the ipad cuz 1. price 2. i can read anywhere w/ any condition. good review!!

  • My kindle got smashed at school by these 2 idiots and i am wationg for revenge

  • @gemmyfreak2871 what douchebags!

  • @gemmyfreak2871 that is awful! u should punch them!

  • i dont get the "not as small as a paper back book comment" its thinner than a pencil, i mean what books have that few pages? looks similar in height and width too. im getting one, sick of the ipads glare factor outside.

  • @YouTubingification No you cant. Its more like a book so you have to get a light if you wanna read in the dark

  • even if i go internationally cant i get the books through the usb?? cause im going to india soon so i dont know if i should get the 3g or the wifi

  • @robbyg555 Just know that if you dont have wifi near you ur kindle would be useless just like mine is right now. Ima go change mine to a 3G one. (is worth paying 15 bucks a month cuz u get signal EVERYWHERE you go.

  • @heartsMuzikhearts what do u mean 15 dollars a month??

  • @robbyg555 Well i went to buy mine at Best Buy. They told me i had to pay 15 bucks a month but for 3G but so far nothing has notified me that i have to pay anything. I have the 3G one now and it works perfectly fine. I will have to wait to see if i really do have to pay every month (which amazon says that we don't have to)

  • @heartsMuzikhearts oh ok thats cool, good thing you got the 3g but did u get the cover for the kindle, cause if you didnt, i got a premium leather case, lcd screen protector, headphones, backup usb, charger, car charger, all for 16 dollars believe it or not, and i think its a bargain, maybe you should check it out but i think its great. you can get it on amazon and its called crazyondigital kindle 3g 3rd generation accessory kit . my comp froze when i tried to post link so sorry bout that

  • I want one of these so bad!! -.- I wish i had 139$ for one of these...

  • How does it do with technical books and PDFs? That was a huge criticism of earlier models.

  • whats better kindle 3 or nook

  • The Ipad is horrid for reading backlit screens can give you a headache/migraine!!!!

  • @Fennador and don't forget impossible to read in bright light.

  • I AM BUYING THE KINDLE 3 NEXT FRIDAY

  • I'm probably going to buy the kindle with 3g. Even though the browser isn't that good on it, It would be great for checking email on the go.

  • Reason No. 0---I'm a gadget addict and will buy anything that comes out. :)

  • On the side... Nothing, nothing and nothing haha

  • iBooks downloads books much faster

  • @fordtrkman16

good point, because saving a few seconds on downloading a book really makes a difference. It is not like you will spend hours to days reading that very book. In the meantime, reading for hours on the iPad really is stressfull for your eyes, while my new Kindle it is... NOT.

So, why did you buy that blown-up iPhone again? Btw, there are tablet pcs around that can do so much more than what the iPad can do... starting at around 700$.

  • Why would you have to justify buying the kindle, I have an iPad and I REALLY want a kindle, I hate reading on the iPad, and I love tech stuff and books don't get that for me, so that's where the kindle comes in,

  • The sun? What sun, you don't even look like you see the light of day.

  • Your video really makes the new kindle 3 stand out in your size comparison with the kindle 2. I have recently got into reading ebooks on my android phone with the kindle app and while I am enjoying it, reading on my phone kills my phones battery so fast. I love reading while I'm out on the lake and I think the kindle 3 wifi only version would be perfect for me. I get a lot of epub books that I convert to mobi and read them on my phone. Wonder can I transfer them to the kindle?

  • Decent review. Could you show how the cover "works" and how handy it is to put it in and out and in and out?

Doubting between a lighted cover or a zipper sleeve. (don't have my K3 yet)

  • @Tconl Look for all of that in my full review soon.

  • I'm definitely getting this but don't know if I want the Wifi only version or the one with 3G and wifi.

Like what benefits are there to 3G?? I don't think I'll be buying books outside of my house anyway. And I have a blackberry for most of my browsing or quick searching of stuff.

Any thoughts? Is the 3G worth it?

  • @Canadarm123 Based on what you've said you only need the WiFi.

  • @Canadarm123 I'm only going to get the 3G cuz I want it in white :) So yeah, it's $50 more but totally worth it. If I get it in Graphite people might think it's a Sony Reader which is so ghetto, lol.

  • @Canadarm123 Just use your Blackberry to tether your Kindle to the phone's 3g....That is, supposing you EVER buy a book when there isn't wifi.

  • @Canadarm123 Get the wifi and the 50 bucks you save on 3g spend it in the case or some books which eventually will serve you more

  • @Canadarm123 You'll only need the 3G if you travel internationally frequently

  • @Canadarm123 i dont think its worth it if you have a blackberry.

  • Larry the voice you used at the beginning cracked me up. For those hating on the Kindle, while it may not have a color screen, utilize a super fast processor, or have an Apple logo it can still serve a purpose for heavy book readers looking for something budget friendly.

  • Dude you don't have to justify spending the money. It's your money, so enjoy :)

  • I think that this video made up my mind on whether or not to get a Kindle. I don't read a lot of books, but if I had some sort of gadget to read books on (like the Kindle), I'd probably read more. iBooks on my iPhone 4 is nice, but isn't really a natural reading experience. I'll order this Kindle next week. Thanks for the video.

  • Or lose a book that's about 20 dollars. I'd rather lose that one.

  • Great unboxing Larry. I have the Kindle 2. I loved your comparison of both.

  • $150 can buy alot of books...might as well just do that...

  • @acidsyringe69 Yeah but would you go around carrying all of those books at one time all the time.... probably not.... but you can do that with the kindle :)

  • @AuburnDude40 true.

  • I'm so glad I ordered the graphite version. Thank you for the unboxing.

  • i think im getting the kindle DX. the one with the bigger screen (:

  • the ipad is great and amazing but the kindle 3 owns the ipad when it comes to reading.

  • great unboxing

  • im a apple fanboy i have an ipad xD but the kindle is just much better for the eye to read and for the money..

  • Good points here Larry that's an excellent purchasing decision. I like the kindle 3 here it looks like a solid product. -Sean

  • I'd have prefered it if they made something for like 40 quid... Come on... Book reading.

  • opps never mind

  • u have an ipad and you got a kindle????

  • u really get what you paid for me (ipad vs kindle)

  • cool ..

  • hey larry, when you get the chance, can you interact with the web browsing and give an opinion on the Kindle 3's performance? i'm interested in its ability/ease of use as regards very basic functions: email, blogging, mobile banking, etc. (obviously this would include very personal information, and thus I'm not requesting a video, but merely a comment regarding these functions). Thanks!

  • @kisernl the kindle is not very good for that kind of stuff

  • The Kindle is great. I have the second generation!

  • Nice unboxing

  • I kinda like the Kindle 2 better than the newer one.

  • IT'S OVER 900 DOLLARS!

  • there's a new kindle?

  • great review Larry!!
