for reliability, durability, accuracy, comfort, and a lightweight .22, i recommend a Savage/Stevens rifle. they are usually around $120-$150 brand new. i got mine for about $160 but that was because it was a gray synthetic stock instead of the standard black. if you like exotic looking guns, you could buy a regular black synthetic stock, and then you could take camo tape, or whatever other type of design tape you'd like and put over the regular stock.
never rest a rifle barrell on anything nothing should touch the barrell when firing as it will affect accuracy and the harmonics of the barrell.
also before anyone says he hit the targets therefore no worrys with accuracy then i'd say i could do the same damage with a cumshot from that distance.
i have a stevens/savage. the gun is made by stevens and the bolt was made by savage. VERY sweet shooting gun. it is grey synthetic, and i only paid 125 bucks for it. we shot it in at 50 yards, and it was hardly dropping at all. not even an inch.
i just recently restored my dads bolt action single shot its not a model cause he and his friend made it from scratch so its just a homemade .22 witch is awesome cause its the only of its kind
i take it you would highly recommend it as a beginners weapon, no? thinking about getting one as my first firearm. what do you think is a good price range for one?
A 22 has no recoil and helps build good marksmanship. A new shooter should always start on a 22 rifle. they have 22 rifles that cost from $65-$300+ for the really fancy ones. Search on google for the ruger 10/22. That is one of the most popular 22 rifles in the U.S.A.
i mean if your worryd about size a .22 you will never out grow how small it is my bolt action now is larger then my semi but im like 6 foot and 200lbs and either way there both fine and my marlin 60 is smaller then my pellet rifle lol :P but yea a ruger 10-22 is great
erm, it would be a good starting rifle. Weapon is the the totally wrong way to think about a .22 - growing up in New Zealand taught me that a gun is a tool - not a weapon.
As for a price - I got my first .22 for 50NZD so that is about 25US haha. It taught me how to shoot - so it was good enough for a beginners rifle - it has destroyed a fair share of rabbits and possums.
Either the barrel isn't free floated or your new name is Bubba ^,^
