That due to the new fuel economy guidelines just passed, and the fact that only about 12% of Cadillac customers chose the V8 engine now with the improved performance from the 3.6ltr direct injection engine. However the CTS-V shown here used the LS6 and LS2 Corvette engines and the 09 redesigned CTS-V will have a 6.2ltr LSA w/ a supercharger producing 550hp and 550 tq. Yeah that's going to suck alright, if you the other guy running it - haha
"Sometimes you can be a little too pleased with yourself. GM engineers testing the 400bhp Cadillac CTS V prototype at the Nurburgring Nordschliefe were all smiles after they'd offered the car to a BMW test driver who promptly beat his fastest ever M5 lap time. Until someone realised they'd just given the opposition a sneak preview of the fastest Caddy in history, that is. Doh!"
CAR magazine, issue 490, June 2003
The new 505 hp CTS-V coming out, it's going to whoop the newest BMW M5! :)
true, cadillac does suck. Let people belive in what they want and stop arguing with everyone. I've already seen you arguing with at least 4 different users. They like Lexus you tell them it sucks, people like BMW you tell them it sucks, people like Infiniti you tell them it sucks, well Cadillac sucks!
The sad thing is that nothing about the CTS-V race car has found its way into the CTS-V. Any suggestion to the contrary, by Cadillac marketing or by their ad agency just isn't true.
The CTS-V is an excellent car on its own merits...and the it's more of a case of Trickle Up than Trickle down, which in MHO, would have made a much stronger story.
wow cadillac is so beautiful. i am so glad.

Cadillac has just announced they are cancelling their Ultra V8 program. Yeap, Cadillac does suck when it comes to engines.
I wish the 3.6l V6 in the CTS did not have NVH issues.

The trickle up theory is correct - CTS-V came first, followed by the race car. But who cares? They are both BAD ASS!
