  • Played this on my birthday...all hail Grandaddy!!

  • I fuckin' luv this song... just felt like listening to it once again :) ...

  • Not that I can speak for gay guys, but maybe it's because this is ambivalent music. Nothing is demanded from the listener except an open mind.

  • randomitis69, are you fucking serious? Let me guess, you're one of those straight guys who thinks gay guys develop an interest in something solely because of sexual attraction. You'd be surprised to know that a lot of gay guys know more about rock, metal, hip-hop, punk, and country than you might imagine. You've just helped to perpetuate the myth in a lot of gay guys' minds that staright guys are about as dumb as wet concrete. Thanks.

  • I'm actually mostly gay. I have been in a committed relationship with one man for eleven years, thanks . And I think many people, gay and straight get into certain artists because of sexual attraction. Have you seen how many pop stars cant sing ? Anyway, I saw Grandaddy here in Seattle and there were tons of gays there. Many left before the headliner. I like them, my gay friends like them. Just wondering if there was some specific relation. Oh, relax a bit, friend.

  • i'm totally relaxed & the question is still totally stupid because the person asking it said they didn't have a CLUE as to why gays like this band since they're not especially sexy. they couldn't think of ONE reason why gays would like a band other than sexual attraction? that's definitely stupid.

    here's some random reasons:

    1- they rock, pure &simple

    2- the poetry is amazing

3- gays just plain VIBE on it, for no specific reason......

need more clues? i can give you about 100 more.

  • I saw him (them) on Conan first...they were on the edge of superstardom, but they never sold out and I love em...Jason writes some deep lyrics, lots of double meanings...AND he's a nice guy to his fans!

  • its not selling out, its buying in. just a little more conformity and they might have stayed together, bringing more chances to see them live.

  • I have to respectfully disagree. If you sacrifice your artistic integrity for a little bit of airplay or marketability you are doing your fans a disservice. One of the things that makes bands like Grandaddy great is that they are unique. This is due, primarily to the vision that Jason Lytle has for his art. If you take that away or alter it any way you defeating the purpose. Not everybody wants to settle for Nickelback, Britney, Justin and Usher.

  • poor grandaddy rip

  • This appearance was the first time I had ever heard them...too bad they broke up.

  • my first exposure to grandaddy is when they Opened for Elliott Smith in fall of '00. Had me hooked from the opening of First Message sent.

  • The other day I was like hmmm wonder if grandaddy's got anything out- find out they broke up, screw that

  • Saw them back when Sophtware Slump came out and then whent he Frosted Glass EP was out I saw them at the X-fest in downtown Modesto. Awesome live band.

  • nice nice song,
