man I love me some Michigan/Notre Dame games, especially where Michigan scores a late touchdown to beat Notre Dame just like today. I hate Notre Dame, so I always root for the Wolverines when these two teams clash.

If Tate can play like he did the first two games of the season, watch out for this offense. Vincent Smith is going to be a good one at runnng back and we got Shaw and Toussaint to spell him. Our slots are going to be insane this year with Odoms, Roundtree, and Gallon. Our offensive line will be better with Molk back and if some of the outside receivers step up this offense will be flat out scary. It needs to be spring now lol.
I know what you mean. Kicking yourself in the nuts gets uncomfortable after a while, though. Tate will be a year older, hopefully about 20 pounds heavier, we'll have Denard pulling some Percy Harvin / Ronald Bellamy magic if we're lucky, and Gardner will most likely force Tate to play like a beast or get benched. Add in the 8 or so (!) defensive backs Rod's recruited plus the potential blow job I might give Donovan Warren to make him stay and we're looking good next year.
Well, donovan is gone. So oursecondary is done. We'll be extremely young at cb, and our safties plain fuckin suck. Ive lost hope for the defense, offensively, Tate will be a monster. Roundtree is becoming a great WR.
The only hope for our defense will be the D-line, even without Graham. If Martin, Roh, and RVB can snap QBs in half consistently, we won't get gashed in the secondary like we did these last years.
Well, the freshmen are studs, Turner, Christian, Dorsey, and some sophmores are good, but I don't want walk-ons starting. It's bad news. They'll get older and better, but our defense will not be great for another year or so.

Minor and Brown were hurt so much, not too much of a loss, plus vincent smith is a monster, he did work whe he got the chance, we got shaw, Toussaint, and others. WR wise, Matthews was on and off, the offense will be fine. Defense will still probably suck.
I like Vincent Smith as a Mike Hart-type runner (he sat next to me on the bus all last winter...I'm 6'4" and he's 5'6" but I was honestly intimidated), but I think Shaw and Toussaint are the guys to watch due to their moves and top end speed.
Passing attack should be ridiculous; our slot ninjas should be crazy again and hopefully Stonum and Hemingway will learn how to get open. Like you said, defense will probably still be weak, but having someone fast instead of Jordan Kovacs will help.

mstevens24, bad is a relative term froms chool to school. Michigan had "off years" 3 times this decade (2001, 2005, 2007). 3-9 is just unheard of in Ann Arbor. IIRC, USC and Ohio State haven't gone 3-9 in the last 3 decades or so. 7-5 was painful enough. 3-9? Carr would have been crucified for that.

Nobody was gonna win with Sheridan taking the snaps. Nothing agains the kid, good for him for being a walk-on (something I could only wish to be able to do). But he's a third string QB at best. We didn't have an o-line. We didn't have a solid receiver. We didn't have a solid running back that wasn't hurt. Our defense couldn't tackle anyone. Nobody could hold onto the ball.
The cupboards were bare once Lloyd left. And it was quite obvious he wasn't doing as good at recruiting once he was gone.

And adapting would only slow down the transition, RR uses his qb, saw a fact that Forcier threw 8 more passes in one game than Pat White ever threw in one game, that means he still is adapting, but around his spread with an ACTUAL quarterback, threet and sheridan couldnt even start for the scout team!

I'll just give my two cents anyway. But in my conversations with Wolverine fans, Dan has been one of the more realistic fans with a pretty deep knowledge of the team.

There's been tremendous progess on the offensive side of the ball, but lets see what happens with the meat of the conference schedule and how the defense wil play the rest of the year.
Look at my first post on this video. I completely agree that it's too early to declare "we're back". My only problem is that 'ol danny boy has been nothing short of vicious in regards to RichRod. They go 3-9, and all he does is talk shit. They start out 2-0, nothing but positive from him. He's the definition of fair-weather.
And given the fact that had RR been more flexible in his offense last year, I doubt you would have gone 3-9. I'm prett y sure that's what Dan was/would be pissed about.
Likewise I would feel the same too. However he is as large a fan as they come, and he questioned the hiring of RR only after your abomination of 2008.

I love this series. These two teams hate the heck out of each other and walk onto the field and slug it out. It's usually a great game with a Rocket or a Howard making a play at the end to win. And yeah, that woman at the 3:03 mark was incredible. They kept showing her and her hot friend. Another reason to love the series!

If Tate can play like he did the first two games of the season, watch out for this offense. Vincent Smith is going to be a good one at runnng back and we got Shaw and Toussaint to spell him. Our slots are going to be insane this year with Odoms, Roundtree, and Gallon. Our offensive line will be better with Molk back and if some of the outside receivers step up this offense will be flat out scary. It needs to be spring now lol.

I know what you mean. Kicking yourself in the nuts gets uncomfortable after a while, though. Tate will be a year older, hopefully about 20 pounds heavier, we'll have Denard pulling some Percy Harvin / Ronald Bellamy magic if we're lucky, and Gardner will most likely force Tate to play like a beast or get benched. Add in the 8 or so (!) defensive backs Rod's recruited plus the potential blow job I might give Donovan Warren to make him stay and we're looking good next year.

Well, the freshmen are studs, Turner, Christian, Dorsey, and some sophmores are good, but I don't want walk-ons starting. It's bad news. They'll get older and better, but our defense will not be great for another year or so.

Minor and Brown were hurt so much, not too much of a loss, plus vincent smith is a monster, he did work whe he got the chance, we got shaw, Toussaint, and others. WR wise, Matthews was on and off, the offense will be fine. Defense will still probably suck.

I like Vincent Smith as a Mike Hart-type runner (he sat next to me on the bus all last winter...I'm 6'4" and he's 5'6" but I was honestly intimidated), but I think Shaw and Toussaint are the guys to watch due to their moves and top end speed.
Passing attack should be ridiculous; our slot ninjas should be crazy again and hopefully Stonum and Hemingway will learn how to get open. Like you said, defense will probably still be weak, but having someone fast instead of Jordan Kovacs will help.

I like Kelvin Grady, but Roy Roundtree is far more talented. I don't honestly know how Grady saw the field in front of Roundtree...I've heard Roy was pencil-thin (even more than now) when he got to school.
Yeah, Smith's a tough little bugger. Watching the Eastern and Delaware State games, I noticed he never falls backward. He always pops the first defender and bowls them over even if they're twice his size.

IIRC, USC and Ohio State haven't gone 3-9 in the last 3 decades or so. 7-5 was painful enough. 3-9? Carr would have been crucified for that.
And dude, I support the Wolverines football team through and through. its the coach whom I may or may not support. I watched every game last year as well.

Nobody was gonna win with Sheridan taking the snaps. Nothing agains the kid, good for him for being a walk-on (something I could only wish to be able to do). But he's a third string QB at best. We didn't have an o-line. We didn't have a solid receiver. We didn't have a solid running back that wasn't hurt. Our defense couldn't tackle anyone. Nobody could hold onto the ball.
The cupboards were bare once Lloyd left. And it was quite obvious he wasn't doing as good at recruiting once he was gone.

You'll never be able to adapt around a quarterback like steven threet and nick sheridan, i dont care if you're usc, oklahoma, texas, or florida, nobody can win with those quarterbacks at the helm. And adapting would only slow down the transition, RR uses his qb, saw a fact that Forcier threw 8 more passes in one game than Pat White ever threw in one game, that means he still is adapting, but around his spread with an ACTUAL quarterback, threet and sheridan couldnt even start for the scout team!

I'll just give my two cents anyway. But in my conversations with Wolverine fans, Dan has been one of the more realistic fans with a pretty deep knowledge of the team.
Two wins is great, but its nothing to be ready to declare "your back" about.
There's been tremendous progess on the offensive side of the ball, but lets see what happens with the meat of the conference schedule and how the defense wil play the rest of the year.

I love this series. These two teams hate the heck out of each other and walk onto the field and slug it out. It's usually a great game with a Rocket or a Howard making a play at the end to win. And yeah, that woman at the 3:03 mark was incredible. They kept showing her and her hot friend. Another reason to love the series!
