Still, after all these years, there is no bass player who can match this level of musicianship. Plenty of virtuoso bass players in the world, sure. But it's not in the technique my friends, it's in the heart. Fast fingers and great bow technique are useless when the soul isn't there. The great players, like Streicher, have strong personalities and they really understand what is important in music. A great man and a great musician, Ludwig Streicher.
