  • I know right, women can be networking engineering too not just men. I am so glad that we have the opportunity as women to work in this field. I am majoring in that right now and it is a good program.

  • lmao!!!

    I would like to speak to one of those woman and askd that just basic questions about network hhaha, that will be epic fail for them

  • @bkxerzor I disagree and can say that these are REAL women with actual knowledge networking knowledge and experience. I know for a fact that one of them has been at Cisco for over 10 years and has many certifications. I am sure they can field any question you might have about networking. At the very least, they can use proper grammar. ;-)

  • Good girls

  • that's why is so many cracked software around:0

  • Hiw many times is engineer mentioned! "I'm an engineer and this is me on a skateboard"

    Juniper Networks would never stoop this low.

  • @CastroGiov You are really stretching here with that one. I am not sure showing the human side of engineers is really "stooping low". It is good for young ladies to understand these jobs and responsibilities. Maybe Juniper is too busy trying to develop a working, stable OS to create videos like this for the community. ;-)

  • "I think its something that girls can do just as well as guys"

    Uh, no. Otherwise a lot more girls would be DOING IT. This alone shows she has a poor grasp of logic.

  • again, these commercials making fun of engineers, LMAO

  • my mom is an environmental engineer.

  • wolwowow i am the youngest network engineer in sri lanka my qualifications are

    MS OFFICE / Hardware Engineering / Advance networking / Microsoft Certified Professional / Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator / Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist / Cisco Certified Network Associate / Cisco Certified Network Professional

    MSOFFICE / HWEN / ADVNK / MCP / MCSA / MCTS / CCNA / CCNP

    and just 18 years old

  • @MrAnsh1991

    Are you kidding me?

    That's impossible it takes longer than that to get all those.

  • @MrAnsh1991

    bullshit! i juz hacked ur pc.! so format it again!

  • @rphilster hey josa shut up and fuck up

  • Comment removed

  • hey i'm inspired...........I am an engineer to BEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!

  • These don't look like engineers. No wonder my Cisco gear doesn't work. Cisco sucks.

  • @huimoleung Cisco hardware is over priced with a cryptic API but it is good once setup and total cost of ownership is not bad.

  • FUCK! They sure are throwing the word "engineer" around a lot these days. Customer service "engineer", locomotive "engineer". What is next? "Pornographic engineer"? FUCK

  • Just like vp, vp of beverages. haha

  • @wifespank {They sure are throwing the word "engineer" around a lot these days}

    I agree... its like if you know how to plug this into that, you're an engineer.

    Like the 'software testing' person shown here, I wonder how truly creative she is -- what has she built from scratch.

    Trying to break things IS NOT engineering.

  • @mindprism You probably misunderstand what they do.

    Putting it in terms of testing a new car or a plane, they are NOT merely the driver or pilot behind the wheel. They are the engineers involved in the designing and testing of the test program to ensure that the product works to specifications.

    Breaking things ARE an IMPORTANT part of engineering. It tells you what's wrong and overlooked and allows you the opportunity to improve on it.

  • @rkwnov {You probably misunderstand what they do.}

    I doubt that, probably because I am a software engineer.

    {NOT merely the driver behind the wheel... to ensure that the product works to specifications}

    They are exactly like the driver -- they put the system through specified tests, and check results against expectations. And flag them. Its pretty automated.

    Expecting people doing that work to also be versed in the real engineering would be a waste of money and talent.

  • @mindprism And how do you think "specified tests" are set up? Bought off the shelf? Give her a break. Depending on her responsibilities, she may well have to read and understand another programmer's damn code to analyse what may go wrong, not as easy as you think.

  • @rkwnov They are set up by the coder, or engineer. And it has nothing to do with 'her' its about the misuse of the word engineer. Unless you wrote the code, or are capable of writing it, its not efficient for you to be debugging things except in a macro sense. A coder is more skilled than a tester, and in a big company few people wear more than one hat, and if they do, they call themselves according to the biggest hat they wear.

    They are called test suites for a reason-- all prefab.

  • @mindprism I'm not sure where your company employs your testers from but the last thing you want to do is to have only the coder do his own testing. If your coder's writing the test cases, why do you even have testers? You don't want them there just to push the button to start your own test cases.

    They're there to be as @nal as possible with your code to see if it works out in cases you might not even have thought of.

  • @rkwnov {why do you even have testers?}

    To test modules in the context of the system.

    An engineer takes a generalized set of constraints and goals and creates IP that can be actualized in the real world that will satisfy those specs. I shouldn't have to tell you that. He or she works from that much of a blank slate -- often more so.

    She is a technician who helps engineers realize the system.

  • @mindprism Sigh.. she is an engineer in a team of engineers who together help create your aforementioned IP by ensuring that the coder's program adheres to agreed upon set of constraints and goals.

    The "test engineer" is supposed to be the person who plans and creates the test suites, not the coder. They are supposed to predict and detect problems better than through a "coding engineer's" self assessment.

  • @rkwnov At an entry level, a testing engineer may set up and document simple test cases. As they become more experienced, Software Test Engineers may set up very complex test case scenarios, write test scripts and perform white box testing - a method of testing software that tests internal structures or workings of an application, as opposed to its *functionality*.

    So, if this is really an 'engineer' -- what is a technician?

  • @rkwnov Yea they are lucky we dont code a vector analyzer to replace them, I have a question maybe you dont write code for broadcom chipsets on cable modems but do you know what would cause the dynamic channel change issue that the modems have when the upstream blade load balances to a different frequency (causing the subscriber to loose VoIP and Internet conn)? Seems to be going back and forth with the vendor and the provider. Making modems stay on 1 blade seems to help.

  • if your doing bad in math.........just simply snap out of it. wow, that easy huh

  • Just got my CCNA and trying to get a job with a telco or isd, university, something. Having trouble getting in a NOC with no experience. Hopefully soon tho

  • yeah it tough, since ur no experience with a CCNA, just start low bro, CCENT style and work for a business then try that university years later..need that work exp

  • Yeah that is a good idea Dani, I haven't searched much in the way of CCENT jobs. I think I am about to start preparing for a CCNA specialization.

  • I work in a NOC, and have a CCNA, looking to become a Network Engineer!!

  • Have you tried to relocate? Sometimes that helps.

  • happy vibe going here but stressful job espicially on the phones

  • Wow, switch technicians!

  • Gals...? what??

  • Nice video. It's nice to have you women into our men's engineering world. It's nice to have a balance, cute girls and yes, competent as well. Welcome and work hard.

    I'll b e in USA in a few weeks,....what for...? To wOrk as a Sr network engineer. :)

    kISSES AND HUGS FROM BRAZIL.
