  • Impetigo Contagiosa

  • why do they keep pairing Kirk up with kids? I thought the "Charlie incedent" would have convinced then that Kirk is a terrible father

  • Omigosh, this was just as creepy now as when first I watched it at the age of seven...it didn't help that I totally forgot the ending! I think I've pegged this as being the episode where I first fell in love with Kirk, just like Miri did. And the Spock/McCoy scene after McCoy jabbed himself...yeah, I remember that. It cemented my opinion of Spock as strange but decent.

  • What did they do with the body of that guy they first encountered? Is it just . . . chilling out in the street or did they kick some dirt over it or something?

  • Those kids need the shit kicked out of them.

  • talk about super pedofelia goin on here! (spelling?) i couldnt help but laugh at the rediculous face expressions Kirk was giving that 15 year old chick, haha jeez i wouldnt be surprised if he just started making out with her right on the spot! oh my!

  • so no explanation to where the duplicate earth without clouds came from?

  • those are some ugly kids.

  • @grimjanitor They definitely haven't bathed in a few centuries.

  • IF YOU DONT LIKE THE COMMERCIALS THAT PLAY BEFORE THE VIDEO , ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS HIT F5 , THEY DONT WANT YOU TO KNOW, BUT TODAY IS A NEW DAY =) ENJOY ^_^

  • so one thing i don't get. starting at 23:09 right after kirk says "do you wanna go someplace with me?" janice almost seems upset. and i'm not sure why. is she seriously jealous of a little girl?

  • wasn't Will S. so handsome?

    so charming.

  • Kirk just pummels the poor 'Hippy Leper'....

    LOL

  • why did kirk tell spock warp factor 1. Wile Spock is sitting at his Science station. the last 10 seconds of mira dont know why but I lmfao

  • yes. she is Elizabeth, his daughter.

  • Security breach out the ass with the communicators; Why not leave the damn phasers laying around?

  • Na... na... na naaaaa na... Gah! I'm gonna have nightmares tonight! XD

  • Mira is shatners daughter....in real life

  • @jszarecki for real?

  • @jszarecki No; his daughter is one of the little girls with the kids, her name was Lisabeth and she was his middle daughter; he holds her in one scene...Kim Darby has no relation to Shatner as far as I know.

  • when i first saw this episod e the kids scared me so bad. that

    nananananananana freaked me out

  • Wouldn't common sense suggest they use biohazard protection, like in "The Naked Time"?

  • NO BLA! BLA! BLA! Classic Shatner

  • They look zombies

  • That red shirt liutennant chick has the wierdest hairstyle. It looks like a wicker basket on her head! LOL

  • Lord of the Flies meets Children of the Corn.

  • Every planet is earthlike. WTH

  • It's like Chitty Chitty Bang Bang gone bad....

  • @gamgee87 but without Benny Hill. come to think of it, i wish Benny Hill had been in a Star Trek episode.

    XD

  • @tsartodd I would have liked to have seen Ned Beatty play the role of Captain Kirk, especially the fight scenes. LOL

  • Kirk knows how to ring the bell on the bike he finds. Now he is 100's of years in the future. How does he know how to operate the tricycles bell?

  • PedoKirk ALERT @ 11.35 Spock: But Captain, she's only 14. Kirk: Yeah. Finally!

  • If I saw this when I was young it would have disturbed me.

  • @Chazbc : I did see this when I was young. It didn't exactly disturb me, but I remember it was really depressing. The only good memory was that it was quality time with my aunt.

  • Children of the corn!

  • The area where they beamed down looks like modern day Detroit!

  • 11:25 PEDOKIRK!

  • haha "No blah blah blah!!!!"

  • Is it just me, but this episode reminds me a little bit of Children of the Corn hahaha.

  • @honeydenison I thought the same thing!

  • kirk loves all the 12 year olds out there!

  • Are these episodes edited? What's up with McCoy? In one scene he's nearly dead, then 10 seconds later he's well.

  • Are you new?

  • @adrienebrooke I'm sorry, I don't understand your question--new to what?

  • No blahblahblah!

  • Hey, what happened to the security guards?!

  • You know what I just noticed? Yeoman looks like Chloe from 24!

  • @greg5566 ah, star trek and 24, my two favorite tv shows :) i dont think they look very much alike though honestly. but i like Chloe A LOT better- she's smart , funny, and not afraid to kick butt! janice is just annoying.

  • Michael J. Pollard is the greatest actor of all time.

(Followed in a close second by Clint Howard of course!)

  • "Miri, want to go some place with me?" wow!

  • I love how Kirk flirts shamelessly with the 15-year-old girl, toying with her emotions.

  • That planet is like earth except no atmosphere!

  • I think Spock isn't affected because of EMOTION!

  • Is that girl Kim Darby? Two of my favorite '70s actors. But I'm not sure that's her.

  • @greg5566 It is Kim Darby.

  • Spock is so awesome and manly. I love how he protects the girly security guard from the falling rocks.

  • MICHAL J. POLLARD is in this one!

  • "NO BLAHBLAHBLAH!"

  • Dang! Kirk threw that one kid around twice. I think that kid got on Kirk's every last nerve. He was more dangerous than John. He was the first one to hit Kirk. I wouldn't blame Kirk for kicking that kid's butt. He was asking for a serious spanking. It was like good cop bad cop. John was like the good cop because he was a little less violent. But the other kid was the bad cop who did all the heavy work.

  • @pacanime1 it's true -- he IS an annoying little kid.

  • KIRK "NO BLAH BLAH BLAH" LOL That's a daycare teacher's worst nightmare. See I told you after that they start either the Children of the Corn or the Lord of the Flies business. Take your pick. Then Kirk gets a owned.

  • These kids are like the kids from Children of the Corn. They run Amok all day and view adults as their enemies. John is like the Children of the Corn leader who tells them to get rid of the grubs. LOL

When they arn't playing Children of the Corn they're playing Lord of the Flies. If everyone had died, they would be going after Spock as their pig hunt.

  • So how do any of the guys on the Enterprise concentrate when all the women are running around in those hot short dresses. LOL

  • "that means the children would have to be--"

    "immensely old." too funny lol

  • 28:41

Spock: "Activate tractor beam of epic flirt... *captain.* "

  • Something this episode neither shows nor discusses:

To identify the disease, wouldn't they want to autopsy the victim from 6:10?

  • If you listen to the "Life Without People" Series, the city wouldn't look even this good after 300 years.

  • I would have killed those kids so many times... imagine if ME's Commander Shepard was in his place...

  • "Of COURSE, someone will fix it. The captain just fixed your FACE, didn't he?"

  • KIRK, YOU'RE BEING A CREEPER. ..ah hell, I'd fall in love with him too.

  • also.. the older boy is seriously creepy lookin >_>

  • Space, the final frontier

These are the voyages of Captain Kirk. His five year mission: to explore strange new bedrooms.

To seek out new life and new positions. To boldly sex what no man has sexed before.

    XD gotta love the captain.....

  • @4everjabberwocky That was awesome! LOL

  • The "beaker full of death" is actually an Erlenmeyer flask! lol

  • Does the way Kirk looks and talks to Miri freak anyone out? Essentially she is a little girl, and he starts to charm her and flirt with her almost mercilessly. That is so icky on so many levels.

  • @Demithegoddess I don't think it's flirting. I believe that he is trying to cheer her up and tell her the kinds of things she'd want to hear. And she can't be that young; at least 14, at most 17.

  • something's rotten on the planet of neverland...

and yes 28:40-28:52 = fav part

  • Why would the Captain's Yeoman be a part of the landing party?

  • @bearmassaro i was wondering this too. She's part of the landing party in a couple of episodes, I think to serve as a love interest. See "Shore Leave" as another example. Also, she's needed for this episode or else how else will Miri get jealous? Other than due to Spock;) lol

  • So the only's could kidnap her later in the story....LOL

  • @bearmassaro

Thank you! I was wondering the same thing

  • Those kids seem pretty well kept for not having had adult contact for 300 years.

To the people who have been calling Kirk a creeper for flirting with Miri: Wicked ironic that Kim Darby was nineteen when she played the role.

  • So what? She's a prepubescent girl in the story, where it matters.

  • Yes, even if there were enough preserved food, it is hard to believe it would still be edible after 300 years.

  • I read that Shatner and Whitney had the hots for each other in real life too!

  • LOL that look that Kirk and spock exchange...kinda suggestive no? 28:40 - 28;52

  • i really really really really really hated those stupid kids..... especialy the one with the hammer!! xp

  • kirk acts like a child molester through the whole thing

  • It's in the future so molesters get promoted to rank of captain. hmmm what does it take to make admiral?

  • hahahahahaha

  • those children are really freaky

  • They are always going "Warp Factor #1" how the heck do they get around going so darn slow?

  • @DBZskyhigh1 It's not that slow because it's still above light speed.

  • 11:50 So wrong of Kirk to flirt with a young girl. He really poured on the pheromones. Has he know boundaries?!

  • Between the robot & the green chick, I've deduced that he's not picky.

  • @wado1942 what robot? Surely you don't mean the android from "Requiem for Methusaleh", because he didn't know she was an android until the end and at that point she turned into a human.

  • No, I was talking about "What Little Girls..." He was totally seducing that Fembot!

  • @wado1942

That's why Kirk and Bones are good friends. Bones has to treat Kirk's alien STDs all the time. He keeps it off the official logs. =)

  • Do the math. It's been 300 years.

    1 year = 1 month of age

    12 years = 1 year of age

    300 years/12 years=25 years of age

They should all be 25 years old! Even if all the kids were infants when the plague took over.

A flaw in their script writing...

  • some of those "kids" looked like short 25 year olds

  • no, the flaw is in your listening skills: Spock clearly says they age 1 month for every 100 years, not for every year, so every child there has only biologically aged 3 months since the beginning of the experiment.

  • Alright, alright, no need to have the insult in the beginning of your comment.

  • If they would have had a romantic scene between Kirk and Rand it would have kept her in the series. Think about that all you so called virgins out there! I mean did know one see that they were attracted to each other and then she disappears out of his life?

  • @1bichon1 The problem is that Kirk can't have a steady romantic interest or else he wouldn't be Kirk. In almost every episode, he gets with another women and Rand would sirve as that foil.

  • @Washu151 But he does have a steady romantic interest. The Ship. They say that in alot of episodes that the ship is always his first priority and she's his 'mistress' or whatever. Creepiness LOL.

  • Captain look at my legs. Like he doesn't do it all the time when she is not looking! He looks at her rear end too.

  • well Charles Bronson was on the set when his wife was on an episode to put Shatner in his place if he took any liberties with Jill Ireland :-)

  • You mean Leonard Nimoy, not William Shatner.

  • Is that a basket on that poor girls head..her hair style?

  • phasers on mute for Brooke, on stun for go-to people, on destroy for Colgate - Aarrrgh!

  • LOL--good one...sneaking up on poor unsuspecting trekkies like that...argh!

  • I think Im gonna buy some Colgate...

  • It isn't worth the pain!

  • To all the people who think Kirk is being pedophillic:

Kirk is not hitting on Miri in a seriously romantic way. He knows she is upset and he knows the best way to make her (or any other self-concious teen girl) feel better is to flatter her and make her feel special. Plus, he also uses it as a way to convince her to show them around the town.

  • so a disease that creates zombie like mutants on star trek...i looked up some info on zombies and the oldest known version of that "zombie from disease" genre came from this episode... star trek seeing the future again

  • Resident Federation? :?

  • @Akirajay38 If someone were trying to make a doomsday biowar agent, how better to spread it than by engineering it to make its victims violent, guaranteeing that they will come into contact with other people. Look also at the 1985 movie "Warning Sign."

  • Kirk never passed up an opportunity to get some strange... :)

  • I wonder if Spock uses Colgate total?

  • ...For some reason 28:49-28:53 seems very slashy...o.O

  • kirk's a pedo

  • Thank you for putting this on!

  • Man, wot chu talkin bout bitch?

This is sci fi for gods sake, if u wanna see people fuckin each other i sujjest u go on the internet or something.

The token 'romance' scene's between kirk and he's ho's are just basically pointless time fillers. something we have to live with i guess, but i seriously dont see the point of obcessing about it.

Besides i like my Rand's clean and unsullied.

  • Dear Beau74;

That's YOUR opinion. Kirk does like blonds. Look at his track record. And yes it would have kept Rand in the series.

  • 1bichon, you are an idiot.

  • damn kirk, shes way to young for you.

  • Fix the fracking volume!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh yeah. I can't stop thinking about him, and when i do actually stop thinking about him im thing about vulcans or something star trek!

  • Who hates brooke shields?!? thumbs up on me if you do!

  • Spock is such a hottie. i can't help but love him. i daydream about him, in school at home, watching movies, all the time!

  • Oh giggity!

  • 4:55 - 5:06 most epic battle ever "kirk vs hobo"

  • yoman Rand had some legs on her..

  • Hey, thats my wife you're talking about! And I completely agree!

But what do you mean, HAD? She still got em!

  • lol i stand corrected

  • When Spock says that he's a carrier and he could infect the entire ship, it's so cute how he and Kirk looks at each other!

LMAO around 46:07 it sounds as if Bones screams "FUUUUUUCK!!!" XD

  • Lol it does. It also sounds like one of the Romulans in the new Star Trek movie screams it during the fight with Kirk. He gets some really bad news during the fight and then yells SPOOOOOOCKKK but it sounds different the first time.

  • 5:53 gary bucey?

  • so is this an example of Parallel evolution? or did the enterprise enter the twilight zone?

  • Parallel Evolution. Humans living on many worlds in our milky-way galaxy, and billions of other galaxies tend to evolve along similar-lines. We know of over 350-other planets orbiting other stars, as of 2009, and the first-ever photographs of planets orbiting other stars were released last year by NASA. When I was in college 30-years ago, we did'nt know of ANY other planets outside our star system. We shall find life, and even human-life, at various stages of development, evrywhere we shall go.

  • The communications officer in this episode is SOOOOO UGLY. Seriously. 15:59

  • ur meanie

  • Wow. Kirk is such a charmer with Miri. He reminds me of my dad. lol.

  • creepy.

  • Yeah, why are all the kids in this show demented??

  • Where in the video does it say the title of this episode?

  • Miri

  • According to Spock's childhood he was bullied all the time and had to fight for his life. He is excellent at hand to hand combat because of it even before he grew a distaste for it and settled on using the Vulcan grip. Because of his human blood he was prone to more emotional outbursts and therefore much more dangerous. He came close to killing his enemies at one point but, of course, his father Sarek intervened at the appropriate time to expose Spock to the Vulcan way of logic.

  • that was a really good episode.

  • did you watch the cage yet? the original pilot

i just did it was FANTASTIC!

  • "NO MORE BLAH BLAH BLAH!!!" lol..man why do i laugh at the most inappropriate parts :(

    those kids are creepy...

  • PEDO!!!!!

  • oh, he is not. he's just charming. and manipulative. those 2 traits DO usually go together. actually, he reminds me a lot of my dad.

  • They never did explain how come the continents were very much like Earth's and why the town resembled the 1960s.

  • With headphones in, the kids' chanting is veeerry creepy. I looked aruond me to see if I had a bunch of mutant zombies about to swallow me alive or something. >.>

  • From the A.V. Club review of this episode I expected Kirk to be come off way more pedo-ish than I had remembered... but after watching this again I think it's clear that he's just trying to humor Miri in order to get what he needs. Look at the teasing way in which Rand talks about it afterwards - if they actually thought he was attracted to her they all would have reacted very differently, to put it lightly.

Get your minds out of the gutter, people ;)

  • if i were the little girl, i would think that kirk was acting just a little creepy..

  • "I'm a grub and--I want to help"

  • No BLAH BLAH BLAH

  • 40:02 is that Nick Swisher?

  • Bons does so much for the Enterprise crew! Self-sacrifice is so cliche yet still so noble! Go Bones!!

  • I don't know if Bones was self-sacrificing so much as just eager to get rid of his own blue sores and violent emotions...and more willing to throw caution to the wind than Spock was.

  • True! I guess if anyone was stuck in a situation choosing to die later or risking death now in hopes of making a vaccine, I guess there would be some one acting as a martyr. Still, go Bones!!

  • "Im not into older women"

  • From all the episodes I've seen, when a character's mind isn't acting typical, it's because they aren't really them. Spock should have said 7.0833 days or 7 days and 2 hours instead of just 7 days, so that's not Spock according to the rules of every other episode.

  • I like the WIlliam Shatner off Family Guy better.

"Did U say shnitzel, I luv shnitzel."

  • Was this really necessary?

  • I love this episode! It is so good. I like the part where Bones called out for Spock after he injected himself and Spock held his hand.
