@defrancotv The lines I quoted were from the movie Airplane. There is a scene in the movie where most of the passengers and the pilot became sick after eating the fish.
What a professional! ALL industry needs more, many more like her being so willing to put everyone's best interest ahread of her own. Just things I heard "between the words."
Those like her make American, the airline, the real star.
Timtehpilot, why are you so angry? She never said she landed the plane, she stated it's a team effort, and personally, I am glad she was willing and able, considering she DIDN'T have to. Her humility is amazing.
she didnt help much at all, she read a checklist. her license isnt even active. she hasnt flown in 40 years. this isnt heroic nor worthy of a news story
@MediaJunkie92 yeah because radio frequencies, altitudes, descent rates, throttle, flaps, v speeds, pilot comfort, etc, etc have nothing to do with it. its just easy as cake.
except for "Mostl4modern" the rest of you have not the faintest clue about what your talking about! honesyl, like driving a car? please, thats like saying if I can speak english then I can learn Chinese in a few minutes too.. Idiot!
and regards, knowing stall speeds, track miles, and altitudes to hit, while not increasing speed to line up for final to configure for landing, u try it! its not all computers, again total ignorance... its a multi crew a/c for a reason, the capt had it, idiots!
not hard if you know what controls what on the instrument panel. Just avoid stall speed and coming in too fast. The tower could guide you to the right runway, speed, when to extend the wings, when to deploy the landing gears.
Still I would like to say....Good job Patti! May they give you a raise. You deserve it.
o god, AP doing what AP does, making a story out of nothing, the pilot and the co pilot where both prestent, this is not even a story, it is just because she is a women they are MAKING it a story, big fukcing deal, co pilot had a dummy ache, now shut the fuck up and cover the news, o tha'ts right, you leave REAL news to the bloggers.
@ORVX Not to mention they showed footage of THE WRONG AIRCRAFT TYPE, multiple times to boot. I can understand some drip-brained producer using the first reel he found for the 5 second intro, but to use a frikkin' MD80 in place of a 767 for the entire length of the report is just plain careless.
Must of been newsworthy enough Tim, you watched the video and commented.

Rumack: What was it we had for dinner tonight?
Elaine Dickinson: Well, we had a choice of steak or fish.
Rumack: Yes, yes, I remember, I had lasagna.

Go women!!! You can do it!!! Reminds me of when Battlestar Galactica recruited women pilots out of sheer necessity for lack of real men...
